Ray, my small knowledge of Coleman stoves was that they used White Spirit.......which is basically petrol without colour in it!!!

If it is yellow, wouldn't it be fibreglass insulation? ala batts. Breathing mask still recommended and can irritate the skin .

A lot of similarities to our Carlight Continental, but that Burlingham is far more lavish. LOVE IT!

The taillights were their own design...as you can see from the left hand rear one that is still there. I have seen Zestlines with round light units in the plastic moulding assembly, but I think that was a year to year thing. Those plastic light mounts are very hard to find unbroken and the best bet is to make your own..plaster cast the good one and make a new one (or two) with fibreglass.

I'll have to do some more reading but from memory the 'Plainsman' was only made in Australia, as were the Chrysler Royal..........which is just a 54/56 Dodge/Plymouth body with some Desoto ( I think) fenders bolted on. Royal 313 should have more info. BTW..we have a 54 Plymouth Belvedere in the shed (not for sale)

Yes, they did make a station wagon, called it the "Plainsman". Very stylish looking vehicle too!

Will skip on the boring sanding painting bit....now for an interesting time ....Fit the perspex windows, here you can learn new words and use a lot up a lot of time that you could have made useful elsewhere, like painting, mowing lawns, or gardening The first window took more than its fair share of time, but fitted up OK..with a lot of adjustments and help.......the other 2 were a breeze after the first one........The bad news came on the last one........it was an inch too short so we will have to wait for another to be made. Only true love runs smoothly No window window in!! 2 Back windows in Absolutely necessary equipment for putting perspex windows in. Heatgun to maybe reshape slightly.....Angle grinder with coarse disc to get the correct final shape........."tool" and string to pull the rubber through.....gloves so as not to hurt your hands when pulling string, and lastly the most important...another set of hands!!! A little bit of floor had to be replaced

Looks like the galley from a very advanced design of caravan....and one that is designed to last a lifetime...........one that will withstand the ravages of the great Australian climate variances, heat ,cold ,rain and not fall down around the wheels from rot! Am I on the right track here Dave ? ;D ;D ;D ;D Could only be a SUNLINER!!!! The extractor vent on the right hand side over the stove gives it away

John.
I don't know if you rebuilt your van or constructed it from scratch......but it looks like a 'Carapark Hunter Junior'. I have seen one just like it at Mildura. If you built it it is a very good replica of said 'Carapark', and congratulations. I have some photos but am having trouble transferring them from a CD to 'Photobucket'.........the photos have interior shots and an outside shot.

They made them up till the early 80's.........check your fridge if you think it is the original one ....there should be a date on that somewhere...... the chassis number underneath the drawbar doesn't give a date, but there is a bloke who can work it out........when he gets back off holidays........where are you Bob!!!! I have 2 Olympics.

Lovshack.............I think you will find your Olympic is more a 1965 model than 75..........many features to indicate this......the roof vent is a 'pushup' type.....they went to windup about '70............the smaller opening vent door on your entry door.....was changed to a drop downtype around the 70's and you have a thick aluminium jointing strip around the middle,.......wider but thinner sheet type aluminium about 1969 on. Your upper cupboards probably have a glossy woodgrain type finish........this is the correct finish.....the rest of it ? As you say Glass is class...and it lasts!!!!
