Tony & Michelle, I have a door in the pattern you require that has come off a caravan I recently wrecked. Get the measurements of your door opening and send them to me and I will see if they fit. I am only at Thornton, Newcastle. The door is yours if it fits. There is also a fair bit of the aluminium around too from the van. Regards Humpty.

Sunliners were produced from 1958 till 1966. The first one you have was made in Bundaberg.......identified by the front windows (and the fact that the previous owner saw Bundaberg written on the floor). Second one I haven't seen. If you are referring to the 'quilted' roof lining........the last person I heard of getting one replaced was quoted $2500 If you are worried about the leaf springs, take them to Dumbrells. The axle should present no problems and the bearings should be Holden. Check your Personal messages. Regards Humpty

Just watch the box when you reverse and turn!!! The reason I run 40psi in the van is because they are radials, I reckon you could get away with about 30/35psi on conventionals.

Oh I forgot to mention that I also use a single stabliser on each side.....that's the one with the D type mounting point.

As you said Clyde "it's all about aerodynamics!".....plus I run about 40 PSI in my van tyres., which are radials.....got air shocks on the rear and new shockies up front on the EH.......oh and 35 PSI all round! Tow ball weight is pretty close...10% is the general figure. I towed "Humpty" in a roaring Westerly and rain to Tamworth in July....as we started out I said to my self "self, this is gunna be a bumpy ride", but I travelled easily at 90 kph....due to the beaut aerodynamics of the Sunliner. Your solution...........line up for when I finish the "Sunliner" under restoration here ;D ;D ;D ;D.
I dont think the draw bar will really be the problem......ideally the distance of the towed wheels should be the same as the steered wheels from the rear axle. Regards Peter

That advice sounds good.........you can use a roller and 'cut' the fiddly bits with a brush. Put your paint in a tin of hot water to thin the enamel and I think it speeds up the drying time too..........uncle Reddo might expand on this for you.

You will find that the fridges in most Sunliners came through the roof hatch ..thats why I am using a bar fridge at present, at least it fitted through the door. May be the case with other VVs as the door opening is not generous eh?

Magnet won't pick up good quality stainless ..and definately not brass. Not hard to find a good magnet..........the back end of a speaker is powerful enough!

I have a magnetic welding assist for 90 deg & 45 deg joints.....verrrrrry strong magnet. I pass this over any scews or bolts that I use purporting to be stainless or brass........yes they brass coat mild steel the cheeky buggers You would be surprised at the number of screws etc that look like stainless that it picks up. I also do a little work on some boats and S/S or brass is a must!

I'll just slip an Aluminium lining around their outer edge and they won't realise they have gone up in the world.
Had a good day today....just won a Trax model of my EH wagon on ebay and got some windows for a van 2Bdun, don't get much better than that ;D ;D

You can fit a 3 or 2 way fridge through the roof opening.......and that IS the only way it will get in there. I think you will find the hole in the galley will take the fridge easily enough
Was that sunliner the one with the tan flash on the side....similar to a "Detroit " stripe on a FE/FC Holden
