Congratulations Lulu and Rohan,
Your efforts in searching for the 'right V V' have been rewarded. May you have much fun in carrying out the restoration, and even more pleasure as you spend many happy days in her company exploring the highways and byways of Oz.
We look forward to seeing the posts chronicling her restoration.

Thanks so much Don Its really exciting because weve been wanting to have a project to do together for ages and havent had one since painting pottery in the late 90's ;D Last night we won some retro 60's curtains off ebay for only $10 So they'll go in the van and matches the colours we had already picked out to do the cupboards. We have agreed on starting with the outside first though, thats the big challenge but one we are ready to tackle so its all good.

Onya Lulu Good to hear you are planning a start on your van. In the short time i had to look through your van i realised it will be an easy resortation.... WHAT!!!!! REDDO ACTUALY WAS DEVOURED BY A SUNLINER. Yep folks ... These things are like a venus fly trap. Ya wonder too close and they open up and swallow ya. I thought i was a goner but Luckily i remembered the old scene from Moby Dick stories and lit a fire inside it. This caused it to cough and spit me back out. Have fun with the resto.. head down , bum up and see ya at coledale in October.... book now to avoid disappointment. Oh.. bye the way ... i have this really cool little red morris if ya lookin for a great towcar ;D have located new towbars .. $285. should have it in a week or so Reddo

Hi Great lookign van, It kinda answered a question for me and posed a new one, I THINK I might have found a Sunny parked away just waiting fo rme to come and rescue it, but it like yours has the two smaller front windows (that made me realise it is a sunny!) but I though they had the perspex corner windows, is there a change over or how can I date the sunny by lookign at them??
Sorry to hijack your thread a little Matt

If you can get some pics of your Sunliner up on your own thread I will try to date it for you and give you some other pointers as to dating Regards Humpty

Well yesterday was the first day of restoration. Hubby went to bunnings and bought an orbital sander and he's out there again today sanding the outside. He's discovered there was a nice blue coloured stripe that used to be there. So far he's sanded a big patch that looks a little bit like africa Its tempting to go and buy another sander so i can start the other side cause im not allowed to do anything inside yet till its all pretty on the outside *huff* Im hanging to do something to it, i dont care what it is..lol Silly man wont hand over the sander..grr. Hubby said it will probably take him a couple of months on and off to finish sanding it. It will take less than that with my nagging because im not waiting that long for my turn, no way ;D Will take some pics when africa gets a bit bigger Cheers LuLu

Quick update Hubby has had his knee op a couple of weeks ago & he's feeling a lot better now thankfully. So now he's bored of watching movies & annoying me, his plan for tomorrow is starting the sanding again Before the op he managed to sand most of the large area's of the outside, so he'll finish that in the next couple of days, then will start the smaller areas. Ive been asking around about upolstery for the sunny and have a couple of good contacts/recommendations. One bloke here is really resonable and does it for a living. He's re-upolstered cars (some classics)normally, but has done a couple of vans including our next door neighbours, so will have a word with him come the time to tackle the inside. Thats the stage Im most excited about, doing the inside. One step at a time, must be patient (give me strength) but we'll get there. Bye for now LuLu

Wotz 'is problem.. The big woos still has one good leg with a perfectly good knee . just set him up with a tressle and a plank. Can sit on his butt and sand away to his hearts content. Bolt the esky at one end and start him at the other. That way he has incentive to work hard to get to the pot of gold at the end of the day ;D. Good to hear . things are happening at Freddoville Reddo.
