Maybe you should check with road regulations first before you put any reflectors on the sides. White or amber facing forward, red facing rearwards, sides.??

All Sunliners I have encountered have 13 inch Holden wheels. Regarding the independent suspension....early Sunliners had these but moved to leaf springs for cost reasons..........and the habit of the wheel occasionally falling off when the spigot holding the axle inside the casing sheared due to an excessive travel "happening". Spyder on this site has just rebuilt his suspension using Motor Cycle suspension parts. I am sure he could provide more details if required.

Measured 2 of 'em............ 1 with radial ply tyres was 2050mm, 1 with cross ply tyres was 2000mm exact. Hope this can be of some assistance to you. To establish the year of it, just look on the chassis about 8 inches back from the coupling. There should be a number which will read YYMM then something to separate from the build number eg. 6206 X 125

My resident shopper feels the "Franklin" sign/catalogue is not that old....some of the prices are fairly current, within the last 5 years......and if the paper was exposed to light for a long period would be verrry brittle. Reddos estimation, and probably your guess too as to the code on the galv iron, I think is pretty close.........but is that a repair AFTER construction!!. No matter....it is your pride and joy. The less holes drilled in the van the smaller the chance of water finding its way inside!!!

Pam, go to the library and get a couple of books on repairing fibreglass...............Boat repairers are a good starting point too if you want to farm the work out! You would find it difficult to get in behind the body as it is a double skin in most places.

I wouldn't rub that into your face Reddo, as it is obvious .......... YOU ALREADY KNOW!!!! ;D ;D ;D. 2 plywoods take up valuable space in my shed while the other vans that I can use sit out and handle the weather, come rain or shine ;D
Now for a bit of technical info.............many tears ago BP made a roof paint, which was basically a bitumen with silver mixed in......I think it became "environmentally unfriendly" years ago, but it was good stuff.
From what I hear you can't buy good ol' silver frost any more (probably for the afore mentioned reason).
Wheres Will, he should know more about this!!

If you are referring to the "Qualcraft" windows that open out from the top. I modified a section from 'Clarke Rubber'........I trimmed the sides in on the "T" section and used a loooooot of Vaseline and swear words to get the rubbers into the groove.......especially around the bends!!!!

With all those grooves to make it look like ali ,it would be difficult to get a good shine with automotive acrylic laquer.....as it relies on a good buffing to get its shine. I think the 2 pack enamels ala marine 2 pack as Caraparker mentioned would be the only go to get a good shine

Robert, I have painted my Sunliner as I would paint a car in acrylic..............others have painted their glass vans using Solarguard, spraying the best option. If your van has a Gelcoat I would look closely at Caraparkers option!
