Hi All, Look what that photo of us in the Moruya local paper unveiled, the guy who owns this zestliner saw the article and tracked me down by ringing all the Kings in the phone book, and presto , i could well be the proud owner of a zestliner. The exterior is in great nick but will need a refit inside, has never had brakes, it has a steel frame, ice chest, the tail lights (one broken ) are inside the van, and it has one of those rare expensive water pumps ;D Will decide shortly if we'll take it on, as i think the bondy i've been babysitting is'nt far from being sold, hence more room i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/kingdigger/Picture1067.jpg[/IMG]Cheers Kingy

Hi Col, I thought if i buy the zestline i could get 27 rolls (quick calculation) of contact adhesive in the woodgrain pattern and in one afternoon i'd have one unique instant ''bondy'' - just think of the benifits - no polishing,no , no , no , and reddo'd still talk to me . Don't know how she'd look after a day in sun though PS There's another guy coming to look at the bondy today and he has a 39' SLOPER , i'll interrogate him for you Kingy

G'Day Gang, Well we decided on getting the zestliner, its been home for a couple of days now and iv'e checked it right out. Needs a back section of floor replaced Some rivets have let go A couple of small sections of the steel frame need replacing Needs a RHS tail light assembly Inner walls to be replaced - should be pretty straight forward. Cupboards, front seats, table, wardrobe, kitchen bench etc. can all be saved Van has never been fitted with indicators or brakes. Best i go now and earn some brownie points Cheers Kingy

Hi Steve. what a find and it seems to be in pretty good shape on the out side as well . Do you know what the tail lights would have looked like? Will be a good project and I'm glad it is in good hands. PS Thanks for the newspaper clipping. Sugarshack

Dear Defectors I have looked closely at your Zestline . Checked it out from every angle I am at a total loss here . Try as i may i just cannot spot the slots where the toast pops out the top ;D Nor can i see where the adjustment knob is for light or dark toast ;D. Perhaps it is a pre pop up "side loader". As you well know The Kaybees have a self confessed "toaster expert" on hand to advise you on how to get the sides open to remove your toast when it is cooked. Just dont ask her to plug it in at Moruya . She is respondible for plunging 5000 homes into total darkness with one simple flick of the switch on her 1928 sunbeam toaster. I dont mind you defecting from the Bondwood set. I am sure it is only a temporary distraction and you will sometime in the future regain the ability to reason with yourself and admitt to the error of your ways. I will discuss this treason with the" Royal society for protection of Bondwood caravans" at tonights meeting. Will do my best to save you and Maryanne from being struck from the register... but dont hold your breathe In closing .. May i suggest you talk to your local electrician and ensure he fits a 20 ft black and white checkered cotton covered appliance lead with a 2ft round 3 pin plug to the zestliner.. Geez by the look of the second lot of photos he's even had a go at polishing the rear end Sorry for waffling on here... I should have just said "SHAME,SHAME,SHAME". Reddo

Hi Kingy! I've been thinking about that Zestline-and '67 Valiant or old Wolsley tail lights would probably fit. I have a pair of '67 Valiant tail lights if you want them. Sugarshack

Hi Kingy A very unusual looking van these. Never noticed to slight step-down on the back half of the van roofline going down to waist level. Sort of makes you wonder whether there was ever an effort to have the rear window section built like a Targo roof, which could be folded down to sit in the open without having to leave your van ;D ;D ;D Good luck with the resto Ray

The taillights were their own design...as you can see from the left hand rear one that is still there. I have seen Zestlines with round light units in the plastic moulding assembly, but I think that was a year to year thing. Those plastic light mounts are very hard to find unbroken and the best bet is to make your own..plaster cast the good one and make a new one (or two) with fibreglass.

Hi All, Like Humpty said, the zestline tail lights were specially made for their vans, you can see the CP ( carapark ) initials on the bottom of the tail light assemblys - a fragile plastic mould - I have the RHS light , but it's in three pieces and will have to be carefully stuck back together and a few holes filled. Thanks for the offer of the valiant t/ lights Wayne. One thing i've noticed about these vans is the fact they are made up of around 30 different sized sheets of alloy - a lot of joins are covered with alloy trim stips. Makes it a lot easier to remove and replace any dented panels, of which i have few. The exterior of the van should come up a million dollars, (although still sorta ugly ) it's the inside where all the works needed - Cheers Kingy

Hi guys could you please send me some photos of your restoration including frame pics as you go as i am going to give the inside of my zestline a revamp next year. i promise to keep it original but would help if i new what the frame looked like before i start ripping her apart. She had a bit of water damage over the years before she came to live with me i resealed her outer skin sheet by sheet by removing pop rivets and sealing then pop riveting without removing the whole sheet. But the inside will take me 6 months i reckon All the help you can give would be greatly appreciated Cheers Anthony

Hi Anthony, I'm not touching our zestline at the moment, if at all. It will just sit as is, till i catch up on present projects, then i'll decide it's fate. When you need any photo's of certain areas just let me know. PS Hows your tail light stock ;D Kingy

Hi Melanco, By all means send on your pics of your updated zestline, you know we all love pics. I notice yours has a porthole, which may indicate yours is older than mine - although yours has a fridge and mine an icebox . I suppose it may have been a case of these vans being made to order. You have'nt any of the original RHS tail light assemblys have you MATE,BUDDY,PAL ;D Kingy

Hi Mel, We have started to strip our zestline, it would have to have been near fully stipped to do a full resto anyway, it has to be near fully reriveted, new half floor, inside relined, rewired, new sections of it's steel frame fabricated etc, etc. - It's not getting done - So we are using all the good bits for another project. Lets know what you need for yours as we are heading down to Melb on saturday in the van, we could arrange a drop off point. What we don't need, you can have. Cheers kingy
