Hi. Bit of a long shot but we’re wondering if anyone has some of the aluminium molding that goes around the outside of a 1971 Olympic Debonair. Chasing between 3-4 metres. Thanks

Also Neil and Cheryl, Richard and Pam, Peter and Linda, and a couple of GT Falcon owners with vans. It was a great weekend there as usual apart from the strong wind on Saturday night that trashed at least ten gazebos. Cheers. John and Dianne

Hi. Thanks for the info Dennis. I'm thinking we probably will be staying in land as it will be school holidays and we would rather avoid the crowds. Might do a coast trip another time. Hopefully we'll get some suggestions for the touristy things to do down that way soon.

We're thinking of driving down inland. Ie through Moree, Narrabri, Dubbo. No definite plans and haven't decided whether to come back the same way or the coast road. We have a couple of weeks to fill. Maybe come back the coast road, although I think we prefer inland. Open to suggestions. Thanks

Hi all
Hubby and I are planning on doing a road trip with Jellybean (8' 4" Bondwood) next month, and as we have never been down that way before we were wondering if anyone down that way can recommend places to go and see. We have a couple of weeks to spend getting there and back, so need to plan what we want to fit in. Any recommendations on towns/attractions to see would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance Dianne

Good to see you had a great time. We have done a few of the country shows and it is good entertainment as well as being looked after by the locals. We would like to get there next time once we get our old cars sorted. We have broken down on the last couple of trips and it takes the fun out of it. Next weekend we are taking our boring but reliable modern car.

Heres a couple of more photos from the "Bah Humbug Mystery Tour" I might have to let Doug explain this one ……. He got to find his first Geocache as we passed through Stanthorpe. Some people like to be creative and make rock statues at Mt Warning – interesting!!! Joey and I got to pass some time by doing jigsaw puzzles. Then lucky for me – but not for Roddy I got to have a drive in this cool car We had an absolute ball. It was great seeing a few other VV at Esk before the tour and then catching up with some of the “Southerners” at Mt Warning. We got to relax heaps and enjoy the sights. Can’t wait till we get on the road again. John & Dianne

Hi, Jellybean is a huge 8' 4" long. It has everything we need - double bed, kitchen, fridge but from a female view not a big enough wardrobe ?. We left Brisbane on the 21st December on the Christmas tour and have just under a week left before heading home. We haven't gone stir crazy from lack of room - YET!!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and we hope to see you on the roadside somewhere.

Our thoughts are with Ilse's an Dosse's family at this sad time. I'm sure the VV family will be there to support Dave as much as possible. R.I.P Ilse it was a pleasure knowing you.

Being a panelbeater/spraypainter I made mine out of aluminium using a folder and a shrinker stretcher tool. Very tedious because the aluminium tears like paper if you rush it. Any old school panelbeater could make some for you out of steel or aluminium. Galvanised steel doesn't work too well and they would rust where it is stretched as it takes the coating off. You could try making some out of cardboard to get the size and shape right then find a sheetmetal guy to fold them up. Good luck. Cheers John

Just spoke to Trevor and he welcomes any VV owners with or without an old tow car or hot rod. Just bring your old van an enjoy a fun weekend . Cheers

Ok, for those that us that aren't fortunate enough to be going to Bargara for the Australia day long weekend, here is a little outing more local. We have been to a couple of outings organised by Trevor and have always had a great time. We won't be driving to Browns Plains to meet up, probably just head straight to the Showgrounds. Maybe if a few northsiders are attending we could organise our own convoy out there. Cheers John & Dianne

Just got home from our best Christmas holidays in a long time. Little Jellybean started off at Maleny showgrounds for the Rockabilly weekend then Dianne stayed at Caloundra for a week before I joined her and we headed for Kennilworth for a week. We had Doug, Linda and Peter, the Bannos, Richard and Pam, Ron Mcgr, Paul and Di, Jack, and had visits from Clyde ,Mark and Glenda. We then moved on to Kingaroy meeting up with Bob and Jacqui, Steve and Vi, Richard and Pam for Des and Kel's family send off party. (off to Germany) It was held in there friend's Abbey and Dans huge peanut farm shed full of old cars ,memorabilia and vintage tractors. Great Night ! Next morning we all stayed at the Kingaroy Caravan park and were joined by Sharon and Steve. We managed to see in the new year and then some. We got so comfortable there we stayed another night. We were supposed to be back home by now but we voted to shoot down to Esk Caravan park for one more night. This turned into four!. We can highly recommend this beautiful quiet, friendly park. Obe and Lynn met up with us here and stayed as well. We had a nice easy trip home and back to reality. Thanks sooo much to everyone that joined up with our mini tour along the way and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Some pics should get put up soon. Next year we are hoping to do a Christmas tour down through NSW. Can't wait !!! Cheers John and Dianne.

Started knocking your front guard into shape this afternoon. I can't get over how original this thing is. Is going to be a cool tow car. Dianne and I both love it. Cheers . John.

Hi all
With Christmas just around the corner we need to start planning what's happening with this event. I received this email today from Kenilworth Homestead.
"We are just in the process of organising our Christmas bookings. We have your group with all the powered sites and we are anticipating more from your group for unpowered sites. Due to council limitations we are needing to cap the numbers of sites. We are giving your groups priority so if you could please email through to me approximately how many sites you will require for the unpowered sites that would be greatly appreciated. If you have names for each of the groups and approximately how many people at each site that would be terrific."
Everyone that attended this event last year had a fantastic time, and hopefully some or all will be back there this year. If you are considering going could you please reply via this thread. No need to contact Kenilworth Homestead direct. I have asked them to give me a week or so to start getting some feedback.
Thanks Dianne

Nice pics Dennis. The Commer truck was built at Canungra by West Coast Race Cars. We saw it under construction when we visited as part of Trevors Spring Gully campout . We wanted to do the Yamba run but couldn't make it. Maybe next year. Cheers . John

Major change of plans for us. Sadly my Father passed away this morning after fighting kidney and heart problems. We are flying to NZ for about a week to be with family for the funeral.
