Hi & welcome.Probably unlikely to find a vintage pair....however you can buy galvanised wind down legs from most caravan/trailer parts outlets.

Pretty expensive move if you don`t do it yourself. Forum member Larry (although haven`t seen him here in yonks) used to do it. Is it towable or on trailer? Then there`s the cost on the big water taxi - The Spirit - prices vary depending time of year/overall size/height etc. Do you own the van or are you considering buying? Cheaper way as you`re already here in Hobart is to chat with Murray on here. Quite likely he might know where you could pick up a nice old van. cheers gordo

Hi Ray. You could also use 'Purple' polish.Finding a flat brass ring might be pretty hard/exy.....maybe cut a ring from marine ply? or.....there`s plenty of old front load washing machines/dryers....lot have pretty decent metal ring. cheers gordo

Hi Ray. When i first saw pics of this van on new owners phone i didn`t notice the frame as being part of the build.I`m wondering now if this was an ex council van? Few protrusions to being allowed as home built.But....stranger `vans have been passed for rego. The plot thickens. gordo

Hi Ray. ha..don`t have to apologise to me about mother nature. We certainly have had/get our (un)fair share of rain/storms here. Not to mention temp changes...last night was easily -4 in Q/town...just another 'log on the fire' night. And you certainly did miss some other sights to have seen....the 99 bends leading into Q/town (which Targa Tas makes great use of)....the famous Empire Hotel staircase....Strahan Harbour....Zeehan Museum....Q/town Museum....Q/town vintage train trips.....Lost pines/mines tours...the fabulous Q/town art deco Paragon Theatre.... Spion Kopp look-out....the new mountain-top walkway...Sue`s Pit Stop Cafe Zeehan.....my place....some itinnary for your next trip? gordo
