Welcome back to mother Earth "Homemade Di".....have you lost ya sea legs yet.....?? Talk about the "Pacific Lady"....strewth.... Yep, she's all go for Cowra 2012......I reckon a lotta people would be putting a lotta effort into their vintage mobile homes over the next few weeks. I managed to collect a good (re-conditioned) bench seat for the ute from the Gold Coast, which I'm picking up next week and scored some new carpets also, and a new 12v set up for the rear of the ute to keep the "Engel" cold on those long winding NSW roads. Well I hope you've sorted those grease nipples and bearings on the old 54 for the trek south....... I think we'll be taking the coastal route then head inland......for something different....... Cheers, Hillbilly ............... Fun in the Sun

Hi all, been having a heap of fun getting organised for Cowra..... Have had some time in the shed over the last week organising the Sunny and the you beaut ute to make the trip south. And the Sun has actually Shone on the Sunshine Coast for the past week.....cannot believe it......gone is the rain (for now anyway)..........ya gotta love this SE Qld weather, rotten one day, even bloody worse the next...........but it's all good, it keeps the water tanks happy. Put some new rubbers on the door and windows......... Gave the old girl a bit of a lick and polish....(the Sunny that is..) Put her back in the shed and Donna (the WO) gave her a good scrub and polish up on the inside..... Had a cupla beers then.........ended up............ So all in all a top few days, looking forward to the trip down to Cowra and the comradeship of all the good people who love a good time socialising with like minded people. As ole' mate JBJ says..................it's all fun ;D I'm excited...... ;D Cheers, ;D Hillbilly and the WO ..........

Mate, your Xmas really did come all at once...... How good is the garage in Kellerberrin, it looks the real deal (as in an original Holden dealership).....absolutely brilliant and definately worth a stop over if travelling through this great country to the Anniversary in Perth. Plus.......you had a ride in an FJ Limmo ....... it looks like a very smooth "ride"...... well done mate...... Cheers, HB

After gallivanting (and working) around Australia since 2007 its nice to be based back home on the Sunshine Coast and to have some quality time getting my 59 Sunliner back into some respectable order. After a few "perspex" drama's I finally got the new front and back perspex window's installed by a very confident and clever gentleman in Caboolture, Qld. And the window rubbers from NSW worked a treat and are a very good fit. Many thanks to Ken Bannister (Banno) for putting me onto this gent as it made the whole exercise so much easier, as I had some other "plastics players" in the Noosa area who had no idea how to tackle the curved windows. Still some finishing off to be done, am getting all the external and and internal electrics finished off in a fortnight, the flooring layed, spats to go on and our friend Mr Daggsey in the West is doing a little bit of original "artwork" for the front and rear of the van. I also had two phone calls from separate parties after it was down in Caboolture wanting to know some details of the van, some technical stuff and where'd I get the rubbers from, and who is this vintage van mob and how do I join etc etc... It never ceases to amaze me how much interest these old vans receive. The amount of older vans I see along the Qld coast both vintage and classic is incredible and shows the enthusiasm and re-birthing of these old beauties in this modern era. So after picking up my Sunliner from Reddo in Mount Gambier back in 2008 and it now being 2011, I reckon it should be on the road for a Sth East Qld run in about 2014 . . . . . . .nah, not really, I've booked in for Cowra 2012, surely I gotta have it finished by then..... Whilst on the subject of Sunliner's... ....I was informed by a very reliable source there is one being "totally overhauled" in a big shed just west of Bribie Island .....many, many dollars being spent on it ....... and it's going to be like nothing we've ever seen before, I wonder whether it'll still look like a vintage van.......... ? I have been invited for a sneak preview next time I'm down that way.......mmm, should be interesting....... Cheers, Hillbilly ;D ;D ;D

"What a top spot Atog.........." I remember going there a few years back and loved it, great part of Queensland and a nice spot to escape some of the humidity. And your car and van look very comfortable nestled in amongst the palms at the caravan park............mmm.......envious... and the classic old country pub, that's how we like em, little verandah, piece and quiet, lovely......... Cheers, Hillbilly ;D ;D ;D
