G'Day Clyde, FYI - I was at the Kandanga Pub yesterday afternoon and what a magic day it was. I noticed quite a few "Nomads" vans in the small caravan park, as you say it might be a bit tight for a group. A lovely spot with the bowls club and pub on your doorstep, but as you and I know the Imbil Island Reach caravan park (just up the road) is a top spot too. Keep us updated on your travels and I will catch up with you for a few "quiet ones" on the night your in our part of Qld paradise. Cheers, Hillbilly Magic spot to camp at ..... New owners have just taken over the pub in Kandanga too, the meals are good.

This is how I found my 1958 Modern caravan in 2005 rotting away on a farm in Bindoon WA.
After a total revamp she's had a good touring life, travelling to many parts of Australia including the 2010 Nationals in Mildura.
A couple from Imbil in SE Qld brought the van from me in 2013 and have given it another revamp as a commercial coffee van, and by reports its been very successful.
The interior after the recovery and clean up from Bindoon.
A bit of timber work and a slap of paint, she came up like a newby.
Here she is travelling from Perth to the 2010 Mildura Nationals.
Spick and span with the new bodywork inside and out and she's ready to begin her next life.
Better to see a van continuing on with a purpose than rotting away on a property somewhere.
Cheers, Hillbilly

Whilst returning to Queensland from WA last week with the Sunliner in tow we pulled into a little town in outback SA and spotted (the ex Kingy and Mez's) Supalite caravan "Gertie" being towed back to WA by its new owner David So of course we pulled over outside the Olary Hotel and had a chat to David who was on a long return journey with his newly purchased Gertie from Mareeba in FNQ back to WA (a round trip of 11000kms), now that's dedication ;D ;D You've done well to preserve Gertie in that condition Kingy, especially after living in the stinking hot Pilbara, she still looks great And we couldn't even have a beer at the Olary pub because it wasn't open....bugger... !!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The WA Goldfields Tour has been "run and done and was a heap of fun....." Here's a few pictures of the journey up to Leonora via Beverley, Merredin, Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie, Ora Banda, Menzies. A few of the vans lined up outside the Ora Banda Tavern, north of Kalgoorlie Parked up outside the very old Ora Banda cemetery One or two number plates spotted on a fence in Menzies Gabby and daughter Lucy enjoying the sunshine on the verandah of the Ora Banda tavern. Gabby looked very glamorous each day and Lucy was as cute as a button Gabby and Carey's cute little Modern van A classic town hall in Menzies Shiloh's rig looked the part and received plenty of interest along the way Mark's vintage combination making a vintage statement outside the very vintage Kookynie pub Gabby modelling with the old Ford in Kookynie Daggsey and Carrots vintage FC/Globetrotter combination A great week away with friendly people with a like interest ..... bring on the next one..........cheers.......Billy

Hi firefighter, I reckon after having one beer at the 08 Mt Gambier nats, two beers at the 10 nats in Mildura, three beers at the 12 nats in Cowra........I might just have four beers at the 14 nats in Broken Hill...........now that's a plan......and there's more its only a quick 3316km round trip from home.........how easy's that.......!!!! After the success of the previous nationals and the relaxed way it is run, how could one not go to such a fun event. Looking forward to it guys, please count Hillbilly IN for this one. Cheers and thanks, Hillbilly on the list f/f

Wow Mr Noble, what an excellent site for a car/caravan/workshop/display museum especially with its history. Having worked in the newspaper industry for 13 years in the West, the Wagin Argus was one of the most respected country newspapers in WA. And I do agree that the "Noble Pommy" caravan in Mark's beautiful front garden at Beverley would be a "Noble" addition, or in newspaper terms "edition" to "Noble's Argus Garage"..........!!! Well done mate, keep us posted with its progress........ Cheers, Hillbilly ;D
