Done and dusted. Thanks to everyone who were able to get to Bridgewater for another great weekend. Great to see so many new vans, younger caravan folk and of course the die hards! A special thanks to some - Lover, of course, who is just simply fantastic. Megan ( and Anne - The mother and transporter ) who made the fabulous caravan fruit cake possible. Sponsors at Time to Roam and Water Wheel Winery. The crew at Bridgewater Hotel for looking after us so well. Thanks Mandy and Rod. #Bridgewaterhotel. Thanks to all of you who donated prizes and gifts for the raffle and trivia night ( I promise to make the questions alittle less obscure next yearπ€) well done the Grey Thornes for the win π Gastronomic Peter for the BBQ shapes and ' Get me out of here' Garry for the melted KitKats ππ© And most importantly - all who traveled further than us ππ - especially those who traveled a considerable distance - the ACT crowd, the Crow eaters and those from Northern NSW ( get well soon Julie - thinking of you β€οΈ π€) Book now for next year - we were nearly full this year so best get in early.
Post some photos if you have any. Thanks again for a great weekend!

The Feb issue of Time to Roam is out now with three great articles - one about the Anglesea weekend featuring 6 vans, one about Chris and Raelene's Reno Rescue of 'Cathrine Rose' - which they brought to Anglesea on her maiden voyage and a terrific article by Richard Dickins about the history of Don caravans.

Some last minute requests 1. It's going to be warm so please bring sunscreen and a hat 2. If you haven't booked in with the pub for dinner on sat. Night please do so as it helps a lot with arrangements and we don't want you to be disappointed 5437 3576. 3. The park is not open to the public so please don't advertise the event as a public event - happy for you to invite friends but this is not a public free for all. 4. There will be a vintage coffee van - they have made abit of an effort to be there so please support them ( over the bakery which has been less than supportive ) 5. Follow the event on Facebook - and encourage Koala and the ACT vans on their convoy. m.facebook.com/groups/1682421455389899/6. Please travel safely

Prize donations for the trivia night will be warmly accepted - particularly your own PRODUCE ! ππππ - if you have some garden produce, relish from last year's crop, jam or can bake some bikkies we would love to give them away as prizes. Don't be shy - maybe get out the PWMU cookbook and cook up a caravan dream or two to give away. Surely we can have a passionfruit sponge? If we can get a commitment for one of those with real cream I will personally invite Rod Quantock - the KING of the rural passion fruit sponge #RodQuantock Check out our Facebook page - which lover has organised because I don't do FB m.facebook.com/groups/1682421455389899/

We think there will be a Time to Roam piece on some of the Anglesea vans in the Feb. issue as well as a restoration piece on Chris and Raelene's Catherine Rose which was one of the Anglesea highlights.

Looking forward to the commentary and photos as the ACT convoy led by Koala make their way to Bridgewater on their 'less well travelled route' Silo Art tour. So envious, what a Road Trip! Patchewollock to Rupunyap and then on to Bridgey. Brim, Sheep Hills, Tungamah. Got a Silo suggestion ? Post a photo.
If you see them on the way, flag them down for a cuppa and a yarn.
Journey photos greatly appreciated.

Less than a month away, so here is an important request regarding dinner and trivia on Saturday night and a reminder of what's on over the w/e.
Dinner and trivia on Saturday. There are new owners at the Bridgewater Hotel and we have again booked the beer garden for an evening of fun and entertainment. Dinner at 6.30 will be followed by trivia. You will need to book with the hotel to ensure a place and to help with seating arrangements etc. no need to pre order dinner but there is an expectation those attending will eat as well. There is an a la carte menu with plenty of yummy selections at reasonable prices. See the Event Facebook page if need be. Remember teams of about 8 can be formed on the night and of course inventive team names get extra points.
Please book on 5437 3576 so as not to be disappointed and let them know you are Vintage Vanning.
What else is on....
BYO BBQ Friday night A BBQ will be supplied at the camp kitchen. Come along and meet and greet.
'Out of your garage' sale Saturday and Sunday mornings you are encouraged to set up a garage sale stall by your van or wander amongst other vans to snap up a bargain. All those caravan and vintage bits and pieces that you know you will never really use could find a welcoming home and make you some cash.
Maldon Antique and Collectables Fair Saturday til 5 and Sunday til after lunch at the Maldon Football ground - plenty of interesting stalls. Other interesting shopping in Maldon too about 30 mins from Bridgewater. Entry $5 - kids free.
Newstead swap meet Saturday from 7 til 1. Entry $5.
Water Wheel Winery A short walk from the CV park - some great local reds to taste and buy.
We are looking forward to seeing you there. Til then, safe travels.

A big Nui THANK YOU to the "Shake, Rattle and Rollers" and all those who made this a great weekend - dinner on Sat. night was great and Darren and Fiona's Tiki bar a NUI Hawaiian highlight - both fitted the theme perfectly. So much effort and much appreciated! Weather was pretty ordinary but as ever the company made up for that. Great to see some new vans and of course catch up with some old favs. Hope all travelled home well. Looking forward to seeing some pics. if anyone has any - hopefully some of A's will make it into Time to Roam in the new year. Hope to see you at Bridgewater in Feb if not before. A hui hou

Sensitive issue alert. I will be looking forward to the weekend and I appreciate that the organisers have been thinking long and hard about the public liability issues in the interests of those attending. We go to these get-togethers because we like being with other VVers and gathering together. We don't do this for a public show and didn't think that this was about that. If others do then that's fine by us. We will not be open to the 'public' I am sure the caravan park is not actually open to the public. I am sure the Cvan park has some form of general public liability insurance. If you advertise the event as open to the public then you may need to ask those who come whether they are willing to do that - and so I read your post as asking those who wish to do so to contribute - more than fair, but not us - we won't be open to the public but VVers are more than welcome on our site ( if you have Hawaiian themed outfits - haha ) I understand that this whole issue is about ensuring VVers attending are indemnified if necessary so if you feel the need then please contribute. We don't think there is a need. Looking forward to a great weekend.

Not far away now - looking forward to a great weekend again - have waxed up the surf board and found an unsuitably loud Hawaiian shirt. Do we need to book Saturday dinner ( and pay deposit ) or is it just turn up at the pub?
Hope there will be pineapple rings and a tequila sunrise....!

The publicans at the Bridgewater Hotel have deserted us and handed in their lease.π‘ ππ₯ This might create a bit of an issue for the trivia night venue wise if the pub is still vacant come Feb ( obviously we are hopeful that new tenants can be found and we are also considering a change of career π ) There is local hall and also footy club rooms which we could potentially use but put frankly we are not too keen on organising caterers at such a venue unless there is significant interest - we would be happy to follow up if there is - Anglesea hall and catering last year was ideal but hell call me lazy - would BYO dinner suffice ? - we could take the BBQ trailer too - any thoughts are welcomed if we assume at this point that the status quo remains come Feb.

For mine I wasn't convinced about the English connection - couldn't see why anyone would put it on a ship to Australia. Interesting little van nevertheless - for historical interest only I'd suggest. It's different in many respects to the English Imp. Given it seems to have only one door, that would be on the wrong side to be English would it not? I was however really interested in the two door English model of the Green one ( Imp?) - thanks for the extra link and photos. Hope all is well! Speaking of which and Green, I'm sure Jenny and Max won't mind me saying that Mad Max is very much better and looking forward to seeing us all in Anglesea. They are currently holidaying in WA with grandkids.
