Hey Maplegum, great offer - we would love your mirrors - we are in Bendigo so not sure when we could get to you - unless you are going to Echuca w/e and could bring them along ? You could email me direct on marcusw@vla.vic.gov.au
love your van too - our current project is a Franklin about the same size.
regards marcus

Great story and thanks for sharing it with the caravanning community - you should be rightly proud of all the terrific work you put into her and Bert is justifiably proud to now have her in tow. We look forward to photos of your next project! regards Marcus

Sally , the more the merrier. Dont think it will be a big event but would love to see your van ( she looks like she has some stories to tell) and her entourage, who may have a story or two also...

lisa/Rob We would love to see Ginger - long trip from Gippy but would be great to see you - expecting very small turn out but its a great spot - we are a bit tired of events in far flung interstate locations so decided we would just organise one close to home ( ish ) SGTL organising Echuca in May if you cant get to Daylesford. and look out for more impromptu pop up vintage caravan locations Keep on Caravanning. Regards Marcus ( on behalf of A, Bert and Flo. )

Don, loving the stories of your van. We have what we were told is a 1940s homemade bondwood styled on a Don, but we dont really know enough about her history to work out if that is right - sadly her history has been lost ( unlike your vans ) - she is slightly different to your 120 and 140 - but very similar - we would be interested in what features would identify her as a don or hand made - If you could send me your email address I can send photos ? Finding that too hard on the forum. mine marcusw@vla.vic.gov.au regards Marcus and Alison of Bendigo.

It sounds like congrats are in order - any van is worth restoration - you just have to be able to commit the time - if you have the time the reault will always be spectacular - as long as you have a good eye for water damage and structural issues, - the color scheme is easy to change - otherwise dont fall into the trap of choosing the van - she has to chose you! But you will know that you have been chosen. Hopefully she has chosen you Good luck.
