Along with the Moparman family Gay and myself 3 weekends ago spent the weekend in north east Victoria stopping at Painters Island Caravan Park Wangaratta, organizing the itinerary for the nats next year
North East Victoria is at its best in Autumn with the leaves turning glorious gold and red colours.
Gavin ( moparman ) is looking after the tour of the historic town of Chiltern, Antique shops, Car Museum, Athenaeum Museum, and Dow Pharmacy, and a visit to Lake View Historic House with a cuppa included.
The itinerary will cover most historic towns and wineries in and around N E Victoria Bright Beechworth, Yackandanah, Myrtleford, Corowa Car Museum, Glenrowan (Ned Kelly), Historic Winton raceway
Milawa Gourmet region and wineries including a tour at Brown Brothers
We also checked out the historic floating gold dredge at Eldorado ....gold is still being found in this area
Forum member Surf Tragic has offered members a tour of his shed and his 7 Don caravans
Gotta bike..... bring it with you as this area is well known for its premier rail trails
Forum member Scot (Leanne) will have spare bikes at her site for members to use
We can have a fire at the caravan park and Leanne is organizing a trailer load of wood for us
Brenton is looking into bringing his sewing machine for upholstering demo
Gay & Di have started on the Quilt for the auction
Received a phone call today from Wally Robinson his uncle Don was the founder of Don caravans
Wally has booked a site for the nationals
There is so much to do and see in this area we might need longer to see it
The itinerary will be posted on the forum a couple months before the nats
The nat's team

Hi firefighterI just watched. Funny. When I was a kid in the late 70's, I had the same pink jumpsuit but in blue. I probably have a photo somewhere. Kerri

Are there any more updates on the Nationals? Do we have any idea of how many are booked in so far? Will there be a dinner event? Just curious we are booked in for the week. Ingrid Pallister

Hi there, I can’t come for the whole week but was toying with the first 3-4 nights only - will the itinerary have stuff going on each day? I don’t want to miss out on too much! The VW crowd have a show in Albury on the Sunday 22nd, if a car show was on, sat 21 would be good and I can get a heap of them along!

More information here
The event planning group is working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for the best Vintage Caravan Nationals yet. We hope to announce the full program for the week shortly, so stay tuned...but the program is expected to include: - Welcome BBQ
- Car show and shine
- Wine & cheese night and a winery visit or two
- Charity auction

Hi All who will be attending the Nationals can't wait it is only 15 weeks next Friday till D-day when we all will be setting up ready for another great week of fun & frivolity,& lots of chin wagging, and boy am I looking forward to the Auction this year, hence my posting at this time, I would like to put a suggestion into the moderators who decide the Special charity that the funds go to. My suggestion for this year is The Mark Hughes Brain Cancer Foundation in Newcastle, my reason for this suggestion is Kel has just lost his brother to this hideous disease & two of our friends who will be attending with us lost their son to the same disease last year, and to top it off we lost three close friends as well last year. I am sure we are not alone, and I am sure there is a lot of others out there within our Forum who have been affected by this disease. It is only a suggestion but I hope it will be considered in all of your considerations. Thanks for taking the time to read this & if it is not appropriate feel free to remove from this posting. Regards Kel & Gai.
