Hi ,, i recently used a cheap no name auto " interior cleaner" from Super Cheap probably $2 or $3 , sprays out and foams on the job and you wipe it off with a damp cloth, can be used on vinyl, velour, leather, and cloth , i could not believe how well it worked on the 53 year old leather that was brown ,it instantly remover all the crap and bought the red leather colour back , it did remove a little red dye onto the rag , the vinyl was not as dirty as the leather but it came up as good as any product possibly could , of course it cannot remove stains that are right through the fabric , for example mould the has been there for years that has eaten its way into the inner layers , for that i use a chlorine gel from the supermarket which can also only do so much once the fabric is stained , good luck . cheers kel.

Hi , i agree with Koala , those bolts are made to bolt timber together and no where the strength of the high tensile bolts that should be there , make it a priority to get those changed .

These would do well on a van ,the design comes from the early 60,s , the original Cobra bodies were built in England and these are actually Land Rover parts ,which are still available, and cheap to ( well they were 15 years ago when i built this car ) there is a stainless cup available to sit them in that covers the rubber seal as well .. As you can see i went a bit overboard with these home made LED lights ,they turned out bigger than i thought . as was pointed out to me that you can use them as a bar and rest your drink there . or as a tool bench .. !!!! cheers kel.

Brakes are both vacume and hydraulic ? have not worked out how or why yet , ,, i did jack up van by chassis , no go , .. this van was towed by a small car in the 60,s ,it must have not been able to take the weight on the tow bar , so they used a tow dolly . cheers kel.

Thanks for that ,, the wheels are 16 inch , letting down the tyre will not help at this stage as the wheel rim will not make it past the brake drum ,, van has been towed recently and springs are not locked up . , jacking the springs down sounds like a good idea ,, thanks

Hi all , as for as i can tell many of you use the original gas stoves that the vans come with . ask a gas fitter about the risks involved , 15 years ago i had trouble getting a gas certificate for a 1982 stove in a van . to old to be totally safe ,Thats what the cas fitter said . . all is good if you are awake ,BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SLEEP IN THE VAN TURN OFF THE GAS AT THE CYLINDER FIRST . Cheers Kel.

Hi All , thanks for all the fantastic trip reports and photos . I fully agree with Reddo , I have traveled the coast and the back blocks many times , and for a stress free holiday/trip the back blocks win every time . Living 1800 klm north of Brisbane has its good and bad sides , We have our own local events for VV's and classic cars which is great ,but miss out on the the busy events calendar down south . Sooner rather than later retirement is looking better all the time . maybe this year . cheers kel.
