So I was drowning my sorrows the other day not being able to get to any of the recent events in Qld. Then thought - "What the heck..... how about an event in early August." So how's about this "Lucinda on the beach" 2nd - 4th of August.Have been there before and it is a nice clean park. Right beside the longest sugar wharf in the southern hemisphere. 5.8kms long The local shop sells the best fish and chips ever and Ingham has some of the best and freshest seafood available. Convinced yet? ;D ;D ;D Just got to get onto the park owners to see what they have on - events wise - that weekend. Just running it up the flag pole to see if anyone salutes it. Watch this space Will have updates this week Cheers Atog

Hi ralphndi Of course Everyone is welcome Just have to chase the owners up and check what events they may have on. Can't see it being a problem as the park is quite a decent size. Did I mention that there's a really nice pub within staggering distance? Cheers Atog

It seems there may be another Mexitorian in the area then.

Hey Everyone Great to hear there will be a few coming. Now we have good news and bad news Good news is that there are spaces available. Considering this is peak season for Lucinda..... see I told you it was a great place ;D Bad news is There is only four available at the moment. And It is two lots of two. IE two sites together and further away another two sites together. Here is their website www.wanderers-lucinda.com.au/Phone number is: 4777 8213 Geneviève is the lady you want to talk to, she is lovely and will help as best she can. To get in you will need to make a call ASAP. We have stayed there twice and it is a lovely park. Having never done this before I am not sure how to organise it. So have left it up to members to make their bookings If there is any problems please PM me and I will see what I can do. ;D Cheers Atog

AND Just to whet your appetite This was in 2011 Just after a cyclone so on the way to Paluma where this bridge is, was thrashed. Hopefully it is all good now. At the same time we went to Mt Fox a dormant volcano.... yes dormant not extinct. But it was disappointing, so here's a photo but don't recommend it as a trip. Do recommend highly a trip to Wallaman falls Highest single drop waterfall in Australia. Lovely drive through the rainforest to get there and accessible for all types of cars... some dirt road but not much. www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/girringun-wallaman/about.htmlThe resident park curlews are very tame but cautious about people The sugar terminal jetty is huge - from memory 5.8kms long The mountain in the background is Hinchinbrook Island. There is a memorial in the park at Lucinda for those that died in a plane crash in the 1940's. a B24 struck the top of the mountain while flying to New Guinea. www.ozatwar.com/ozcrashes/qld124.htmLooking forward to it Cheers Atog

Hey FF Mate PM me with any details about the Olympic you found and it's condition, please.
Kel Thanks for the reminder I thought it may have been last weekend with the amount of hot rods I saw being trucked around.
Won't be showing my van this year.
But just may drop in on Sat night.
Cheers Atog
