Excellent day out. Great variety of cars and the caravans were constantly being checked out. Good turnout from our gang with a couple of new tow cars making the trip. Lisa in the Vauxhall and Sharon and Steve in their Zephyr. We took our new 1950s homemade bondwood 8ft van. We kept it quiet to surprise everyone. It needs a tidy up but it is still usable as is. We will post some pics soon. John and Dianne

Hi, this is really coincidental, but the book called "How to build Caravans" that I have just posted on the publications other part of the forum was actually given to us by a man called Jack Parkinson who is mentioned earlier in this thread. We didn't know him, he just came into work this week and got talking to John and said he had the book at home. He gave us a copy of the same black and white photos that are posted on page 1 of this thread and told John the same story of how the caravans were made at Pacific Trailers. John got him to write his name and address on the back of the book, and he lives at Kallangur. Spooky ............

I think there is nothing wrong with going separate ways sometimes. There are so many events on we have trouble choosing what to do. We love the VV group and have met some of the nicest people, but sometimes we like going to a Rod Run because of the cars and activities. We can't always go to everything but wish we could. We will see you all as much as we can. Cheers John

Hi all, John and I went to this event last year and had a blast. It got very, very cold out there, as in ice on the cars overnight and the showers weren't too good (I think the water was frozen in the pipes!!!), but all in all it was a great weekend. We are definitely going again this year.

Welcome to joys of owning an old car Lisa. We take for granted a nice reliable modern car and the oldies can be very frustrating to get sorted out but once you do it is so much fun. Hope you get the Vauxhall ready in time.

Hi all, unfortunately we are unable to make it to this event. It clashes with another outing we had already planned - oh well you can't make em all (unfortunately). Hope you all have a great time - I'm sure you will!!! Will see you at Queen Mary Falls in September. (can't make Tara in August either ) anyways hope you all stay safe, and will see you soon. Cheers, Dianne

Thanks again everyone for a great weekend. So many new faces and vans to mingle with. It was good to see the Bannos in such good spirits after there recent accident no.2. and to have a fellow VV member loan them a car just shows what a caring and generous bunch of mates we have. It brought a tear to the eyes when Banno made his short speech on Saturday night. Lisa's new van magazine debut was a hit and the pink bubbly helped with the celebrations. A bonus for us was Diannes ute ran perfect with the new 253 making the tow much easier. The only drama we had was snapping the jockey wheel off the teardrop. Thanks for the lift Doug. See you all next time. Cheers John and Dianne.

Welcome to the forum Tanya & Brian, new members are always very welcome to come and join us at any of our outings. Hopefully you can make it to Maroochydore and join in the fun. Kids are welcome as well as "big" kids. Banno is taking care of the bookings for this event, but that does change between events. He is also taking orders for Saturday night fish 'n chips, if you want part of that. I'm sure Banno will post a message as soon as he gets time to catch up with it. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Dianne. (Jondi)

Typical these days how people won't own up for something they have damaged. It sucks. Hope you get the trans back in the Phantom this weekend. It should run good. See you at Maroochy.

Thanks for the pics guys. Another great weekend away with you lot. We had a ball. Near perfect weather , good food ,good company. What more could you ask for. The nightly get togethers were hilarious with CruisinDoug and Tracy getting stirred by us all. Their PHANTOM FJ blew the auto south of Toowoomba apparently so we never got to see it AGAIN. (FJ what FJ) Tracy had a problem with the mens toilets not having enough screening at the door but she always made a point of stopping to check it out instead of turning a blind eye. LOL... We won't mention her feeding the cows in the middle of the night ( it's a long story ) All the younger campers were pretty quiet and we were cackling with laughter all night. Anyway we dropped into Obe and Lyns at Grantham on the way home and made it back all in one piece . Hope everyone else did too. Unlike the fatal accident we came across just after Gatton. A car came over the centre barrier from the high side down onto our side and rolled . It just makes you think a few minutes earlier and we could have been right there in it's path. You never know when your time is up so we have to keep doing our VV trips and making the most of our spare time. Enough ranting . Thanks again Rods Inc for a great weekend and thanks to all our VV bunch for the good company.

Hi Di, we didn't go until Friday last year, so we don't know what happens Thursday night. Reading the paperwork I don't think there is a plan for Thursday night. I might just make something to take - maybe? Still got 3 days to decide - lol. We hope to get there Thursday arvo - just hope this rain goes away before then. See you there, Dianne.

Thanks Bannos. I like the way you put names to faces and vans so others can figure out who is who.

Good job done by Lisa doing a feature on VVs in the latest Cruisin magazine. Heaps of photos taken at Canungra with a lot of our regular vanners and the lifestyle that we all enjoy. Check it out.!!!
