Hi, we say what they said. Sundays wouldn't be the same without the griddle cakes. Big thanks to Joey, Banno and the boys for going to the trouble of doing them for the group. You all do a fantastic job and are very generous to donate the money contributed to a charity. A truly generous family Dianne & John

Great photos Jackie. The weather wasn't the best but you certainly couldn't complain about the company. Every time we get home from one event we're raring to go to the next. Thanks to Di for organizing this event and to everyone who went along to share the weekend. See you all next time. Cheers. John, Dianne, Shaina and Robyn

Bit late ......but Dianne and I are off to the rod run at Kingscliff tomorrow Friday 25th. We are staying at Drifters caravan park where the run is based. They're having a poker run ,show and shine etc . Anyone in the area come and say hello or enter the run. You don't have to pre-enter and there is room in the park. Cheers John and Dianne

Just had to mention this hobby of ours seems to be getting huge. Just look at all the events coming up every month in our area at least(QLD). We can't wait to plan the next trip when we get back from the last one. There are so many nice people in this group . At this time in our life it is the best thing we did. Cheers John

I have just booked in two cars for this event. Will throw the teardrop on the back of one of them. Hope the weather stays good for it this year.

Goodonya Banno. Now it looks like I have to rebuild a couple of bikes, as well as fix the cars and two tone the camper. I liked Clydes Bike that he was cruizin on at Lennox. Ours are too new . We will have to find some oldies to ride. John

For those that haven't been to this ,the entertainment is well worth coming to see. The car show is really good with plenty of variety and this year we will take the teardrop as well. See you there.

Wow, what a fantastic weekend in a beautiful location. Thanks to everyone who contributed in organizing the weekend and choosing the location - we absolutely loved it. Nice to see some new faces and good to catch up with the not so new (but not old). I look like a bit of a beetroot now - not unlike many others no doubt!!! Had a good trip back, stopped off at The Spit for a quick dip before heading home. Can't wait for the next one now.

We now have V8 power (sort of) in the ute. The little 253 is a bewdy, after fixing vacuum leaks and some new plugs its all good. The trimatic seems okay ,just needs a little shifter adjustment. Will take it up to Fat Pipes this week to get the exhaust finished and the alternator needs a tickle up. Then we just have to drive it and sort out any bugs. The 55 is back up at the trimmers to get arm rests and boot carpet fitted. I have to get it back Wednesday so I can do final a final checkover before our maiden voyage to Lake Ainsworth on Friday. ( Towing with 600 HP should be fun) YAAHOOO
Seeya there.

Good idea Gavin ,getting an old drivable tow car now while the Willys gets built. Just dont get too carried away TIDYING UP the Valiant or you will have two big projects on the go !!!!. How about airbrushed riveted panels on the wagon to match the van. You wouldn't need to airbrush the rust stains .LOL Any updates on the Willys Cheers. John

Hi, we got our registration form back too and we're on site 19, which as odd as it seems is next to site 22, so it looks like we're your neighbours on one side Andrew.

After having oil pressure problems in the 55 ,I pulled the sump off yesterday and found the oil pump pickup sitting in the bottom ! Somehow I have dented the sump and it hit the pickup and knocked it loose from the pump. We TIG welded it back in to avoid it happening again. ( could have been a disaster) I am picking up the 253 this week and will start the conversion soon into Diannes ute.

Thanks for the nice replies everyone. Yes Dosse we need a bit more grunt in the ute so we dont get passed by FORDs going up hills . And yes the 55 should pull a few skins off rice puddings ( if you are well insured I'll take you for a ride in it). Yes Di. the 55 was matt black for about 3 years and we towed the camper heaps like that. Thanks Clyde . Who needs to advertise when you promote us like that !!!

Thought I would add some specs... Diannes ute is a 51 chev that I chopped the roof 4 inches, laid the screen back, frenched headlights and a custom grille etc. The body is channelled over a HQ Holden floorpan with 202 auto and 4 wheel disc brakes. We are soon fitting a 253 to help towing but mainly to sound cool.
The 55 is a bit more radical. The body is basically stock apart from some debadgeing and smoothing. The paint is candy apple tangerine and black, done in our shop( Affordable Bodyworks) The interior is custom leather trim done by a mate Adam Laird. The running gear is a Dart 406 CI smallblock making around 600 HP on the dyno. The car ran 11.8 at the drags and now the motor is all new it should run a low 11 or a high 10 on a good day. It tows our teardrop reeeeally easy. Cheers John.
