Looks like you all had a good time . We were treated to the same weather at Brunswick Heads rod run. Doesn't really matter though when you have good company and you're in a nice part of the country. Lots of newbies out there . We are getting bigger and bigger, and it's all good. Cheers John and Dianne.

Knowing Dennis he will hot wire the medical equipment and fit a supercharged pacemaker while he's in there. He's a tough old battler and I'm sure he will come out okay ! Thinking of you guys ... John and Dianne

Wow, what a project. I love that shape van - very cool. I get a kick out of how people (including us) think we can achieve anything, just have to give it a go, and usually it all works out ok ;D ;D Look forward to following your progress. Thanks for sharing. Dianne

We had a foam mattress in our teardrop for a couple of campouts. We cooked !!! We changed to an innerspring mattress and it is soo much better. We are going to get an innerspring for our Jellybean Caravan too.

Hi Nicole Geez what a neat birthday present. Gonna be hard to beat that next year. That is one good looking Holden and will look great with an old van behind it. Dianne

Our 55 2dr has a front chassis graft done by a mate and myself. The ute was done by the previous owner. It is chanelled over a complete HZ sedan floorpan. On yours, how bout cream with maroon gaurds and old school signwriting on the doors.

Looking really good. Love the Chev trucks Both our 55 2dr and 51 ute both have HQ Holden chassis adapted. It is a neat and easy conversion. Is that yellow the sort of colour you are going for

Got back from Coolyrocks this morning. Had a great time and bumped into quite a few VVanners. For the first time under new management ,I think the organisers did an excellent job. Traffic control was a bit chaotic on the Saturday cruise but mainly because people left cars blocking streets. The crowd was huge on Saturday with about 1000 cars to check out. Sunday we got a few showers and it was pretty cold but still busy. I think next year maybe we could approach the organisers to see if we could get a spot to display some vans . I reckon they would be very popular as they were at Pine Rivers rock n rodz show. Cheers John

Feedback from hot rodders that John knows was that the VV was the highlight for them. They enjoyed the change to just cars, so that was good.

Jellybean is what the last owner called our van because of the roof shape and the roundy style. He was 74 and didn't want to sell her but it wasn't practical to keep her. We will keep that name.

One of our employees walked past it every time he went to the pub on Saturdays. It was always covered up, then the owner took the tarp off and it was visable from the road at Deception Bay. Dianne went and made him an offer as soon as we heard about it then we towed it home the next weekend. The 74 year old gentleman was really upset about selling it but he said he was happy it was going to a good home. He worked on it all week tidying it up for us and repainted the Jellybean name, so we will keep that in his honour. Cheers.

Yeah the roof shape is why the owner called it jellybean. We think it is early 50s and homemade. If anyone has any info on the history of this type of van we would love to hear it. The tow hitch is a 1948 IMP and the windows have been changed to the aluminium ones. You can see where the old windows used to be on the sides. Someone put the galvanised sheet over the bottom to patch some bad rot. I am going to leave it because we don't want pull the whole thing apart. We are just going to fix the rotted frame and repaint inside and out. Cheers John and Dianne

Hi all, thought we would share a couple of photos of our "new" van called Jellybean. It needs a bit of work done to it, but we are looking forward to just using and enjoying it. I couldn't get any decent photos of inside the van as I need a wide angle lens cause it's so small... lol. We don't have much info about the van, other than it was used to take goods to Chandler markets to sell until it was purchased about 10 years ago by the man we bought it from. It has sat in his back yard for the past 7 years, so he was happy for it to go to a good home. Have spent today at the markets looking for "old" stuff to put in it, as I have a bit more room now compared to the teardrop. Dianne
