Gday Ted. Some use insulation batts. Some use styrofoam.Styrofoam is cheap - free from your local fruit/vege shop/markets as discarded boxes you`d cut in pieces to suit but it doesn`t absorb moisture/condensation.I like insulation batts myself. However i would think esteemed fibreglass caravan owners might add their preference to the mix.

Gday Ray.For starters: gordo ***** Not wanting any more holes in the roof this old wood burner is now gone.In situ is a gorgeous antique timber fireplace surround with mantle/mirror ex old hotel in Strahan against the iron. Also reduced the bricks to allow more open walk way.***** (Edit: 18/02/18)

Gday Murray.Thats what happens when you use a curtain liner. My stuff is being secured in proper containers by a highly respected company i`ve known personally since 1955. All secured with various sections either with a lock in false floor/walled off because of mother natures mood.As an example the Td (12` o/a) will be secured by floor fitted captures.Chocked & padded, then walled off.The remaining 8`with other stuff. In another container my 7`by 4` trailer (10` o/a)loaded up with 20,000+ nuts/bolts/washers/screws in respective metal drawers, same. Then a false floor over it & other stuff on that floor then walled off.Remaining area with whatever. gordo

OK,so next Friday & Saturday the removalists are dropping by with 2 x 20` containers to load. Then Monday morning taken to Chullora to be railed to Melbourne.Toll then take over to 'ferry cross the mersey' & into Q/town & unload.Within 2 weeks a 3rd container - same procedure but with me,the pooch & a vet doing a fly/drive to meet & unload.Excited & exhausted just thinking about it. gordo

Thanks Cobber for uploading the pics.Thought i`d be smart & upgrade from an old D ell W indows X P to new computer running W indows 7 H ome Premium. What was i thinking. Its so convoluted compared to the old. This stove was designed to cater for between 15 to 40 personel by splitting the unit into 2 x 22.5kg back packs (last pic).It comes fully kitted out, ready to use with cutlery/ladle/butchers knife/s&p shakers etc.Square/oblong lidded saucepans & serving trays.Even a scrubbing brush & sharpening stone.Jerry can adapters, fuel line ready to connect & tool kit.Needs its own `van to tote about i think! gordo

Hi Bob&Jacqui. You folk certainly took in a lot of scenery & places. When i visited Salamanca i traipsed up & down the street looking for some place not too crowded for a meal.Bit hard to find one as its all so popular but ended up at Irish Murphys. Huge meal & beer for $25.No complaints from me.Look forward to your next installment. gordo

Hi Bruce. Some interior pics might help as the layout of fixtures could narrow it down to the maker. Also it was quite common for builders to scribble a name/date under/in/behind drawers/table/cupboards/beds.

Very sad indeed. I never met Dennis but reading his adventures, restorations & advise seemed to make out you were actually there listening as he spoke or watching as he tasked away at whatever he was doing.Deepest Sympathy to Dennis & Sues Families.

Hi Folks.Sorry that i wasn`t home but still stuck in Sydney!Yeah i know, bugger.Have had a mountain of paperwork to sort through & implement - new super/annuities/pension/bank etc.Between that, parting out a shed load of stuff from 50 years of collecting & realising that i also need to furnish the 3 bedrooms. Now have period dressers, bed heads/foot ends & new ensembles.I bought up here to save time sourcing in Tassie.I also copped a virulent chest infection & running 104 temp which stopped me in my tracks for the past two weeks. Thanks for the pics Ray.The workshop takes in the entire front weatherboard section where the 'Sold' signs are attached & beyond the driveway gate to the stone part. Then the lounge/dining/kitchen.Three bedrooms opposite side with toot etc.The rear of double garage (with brewery sign) leads through to landing/entrance & back garden.Single front gate beside garage also.As it happens the local mens shed have moved in next door in the ROAB building.Love the fact of the running stream along the bedrooms as its very soothing listening to it.Yep,slept there a few weeks ago when i collected the keys.Got a bit of 'bondwood' repairs to undertake too. Thanks also John. You guys should`ve taken pics of your vans/cars outside the place too. gordo

Gday & welcome P/Scout.Couple of alternatives to think of or check out.A quick trip to the big green shed & look in Plumbing Section:PVC DWV Floor Flange.Common house size is 100mm Dia @ $3.35 each.(Actual "eye" view of 108mm).Certainly smaller than what you want & i`m sure there would have to be larger diameters available. And of course they are PVC.Another option is early type front load washing machine doors. The doors are metal with flat glass insert. These give you the scope of carefully separating the front from the back panel.Scribe a circle for regular sized porthole outer diameter.Cut down to size.Same to back panel.Clean, paint, insert glass & refit. gordo

This is for the unidentified bondwood project that we have taken on. After 10 of the door catches as per photo. Does anyone have an exterior light fixture like this that is surplus? Current one is a bit brittle for some reason. Measures around 10" diameter Thanks in advance When all else fails there`s always our Technical Reference Library > Vintage Restoration Parts Suppliers/Info Section.

Hi Geoff & Jude. So glad to hear Geoff is home & ok.Nearly nine years ago i woke one morning to terrible chest pains.Dilly daddled for a short time thinking different things, and realising it couldn`t be anything else summonsed the ambo. Two further attacks over the week in hospital, angiogram & quad bypass done.Doing alright now but i`m glad i didn`t disregard the innitial symptoms.Once this sort of thing happens you just have to kick back a gear & slow down & don`t raise your arms over your head for prolonged periods. That puts a definite strain on the ticker.Wishing you the best. gordo
