Hi guys,
Are you going to share some pics of your project with us? One place suggested to me by Atog was caravansplus.com.au, I've purchased lots of items through them & there are other sites available someone else may be able to suggest, & like Atog told me, often things can be repaired instead of replaced.
Good luck Adam.

THE ULTIMATE TOW CAR, MY 1959 OLDSMOBILE HOLIDAY 88 COUPE. The only factory RHD '59 Olds in Australia, reco 327, turbo 400, 9” diff & HQ Holden front end. Also picked up a set of rare 98 taillights & a NOS Sterring wheel. 100% complete including extremely rare King Air airconditioning!!! & new spare windscreen This is an awesome car, we’re trying to hang on to it but may have to let it go saddly. It would have looked awesome towing our Quest, it oozes lots of character & appeal & jumps right out at you. We’re leaning more to selling than keeping so come & check it out & see what you think? Cheers Adam

Thanks Jeff, you should try doing the inside, once the gun is fired up you need an industrial fan plus an extraction fan just to have a chance of seeing, but avoided runs in here as well so lucky!!!

Reddo,
If you read this turn left off the highway, just before you hit the main street you'll see a bowling club on your left, take the second left & you'll run into the showground. See ya Friday night.

Hi all, The Quest is all painted now bar the door, hatch & the spats, these will be done by Saturday. I couldn’t get any good photo’s that show what it’s really like, because of the shade in the shed the cream comes out pale or white & the orange, although quite deep in colour looks almost red. I picked out the best ones I could, have to wait till I get it outside. Nearly finished the wall sheets off today but by Sunday will be finished along with the floor tiles, then get the glass back in & bolt the furniture back in place. Oh, & we will be taking Saturday off to hang out with the VV’s at Berry this weekend Cheers Kaz and Adam This next photo shows the roof painted only in cream & the flash in orange, looking at the two they look like they won’t match, but keep looking!!

Hey Atog, I don't think anybody couldn't be inspired by your work, I know I am!!! Keep up the good work, it'll look awesome with a new coat of jam. You're not thinking of doing a rosewood flash are you? Only kidding, the Quest is painted but in the photo's it came out white instead of cream, so while I'm out there putting the new wall sheets on this arvo I'll take some more pics & post them tonight - it look's awesome!!!
Cheers Adam.

Hi all,
I'm just after some info concerning the brakes on the Quest. The stud pattern is traditional HT Holden 14", but I have been told the shoes & internals etc... may not necessarily be Holden but in fact Valiant. Does anybody have any idea to save me pulling everything apart to do a match up?
Any help appreciated Cheers Adam

Hi all, This weekend we have finally got the Quest covered in some polyurethane primer, the final finishing off has proved tediously time consuming but well worth the wait as it’s starting to look like a caravan. There is still some mild high building to be done but almost there, I will pull the old walls out this week & start sanding the interior for paint & re-sheeting , so hopefully in a couple of weeks time it will be painted inside & out (hooray) & then start the final assembly process. Actually, it's interesting now to look back at the first few photographs at the top this page & to look at it now. Cheers Kaz and Adam.

Dave, I reckon it's a great idea if you can take pics of anything you see in your travels, surely some of these vans must be available to be rescued, & more importantly if they're rare. There wouldn't be a shortage of members to give them a good home, & what's the story with the Triumph Heralds?

Just buy the property Dave, you'll need all the sheds to store all the relics in !!! Better jump at that Roadmaster too, it's a good find.

Still no bids on Christine & I haven't recieved a reply back from him yet?
I'll be taking the Pontiac to the Tug-in-the-park this coming Sunday at Stanwell Park, & will also have a photo display of the '59 Oldsmobile if anyone is interested.

Davo, why don't we get a petition going ASAP & send it to the appropriate people objecting the demise of the Furness?
I mean where you live isn't exactly a huge place so there must be ways of exposing or embarrasing them to do the right thing.

The Poncho is a very honest 1963 pillarless sedan, steel blue type colour with white roof & tri-tone blue cloth & leather furniture, $$$ spent.
The other is a '59 Oldsmobile Holiday 88 coupe, the only genuine factory RHD in OZ. This is a project car, good body, reco'd Aussie numbered 1969 327, t400 & 9'' diff & HQ graft. Have bought NOS bits including steering wheel, has new screen & fitted with rare 'King Air' air con. Also bought a pair of hard to get 98 taillights.
PM if anyone wants anymore specific details
Cheers Adam.

Ok now Geoff, just to dangle the carrot & give you some hope on the elusive Chev truck, I spoke to a mate tonight & he's also seen it a couple of times passing through town.
Somebody told him that it now resides at Kangaroo Valley, do you know where that is? Well it's 15km from Nowra over the mountain. From here on in it could be slow, but I could suggest something like displaying a photo in our local paper ( The South Coast Register) asking for leads or infomation. Surely there would have to be somebody spot the add & know the owner.
And also he said it still had the camper on the back & still looked in mint condition!!!

Thanks for that Gordon, yeah their cars don't come cheap, but how's the cross ram big block?
I always say at least once a week " If only I had an extra hundred thousand"
My timing is always out, when I've got the cash nothing comes along, & when I'm short on cash everything comes along.
I'm really keen on the Coronet though, but would have to sell either the Pontiac or the Oldsmobile which I was going to advertise soon anyhow, but did I mention something about timing?
Reddo, do you know the owner personally?
Adam.

Man that is cheap, I used to own a pink & grey '56 Dodge Custom Royal, 1 of only 4 genuine RHD in Oz, but a Coronet coupe is something else, the D500 Coronet was the top of the range with dual quads on board, I think from memory they put out 375hp, not bad for the late 50,s.

Jeez Firefighter, I live at Nowra & I've seen this chev truck a few times, I'm rattling my brain to remember where but if I do I'll let you know asap. What van park was it or where abouts was it?
Cheers Kaz and Adam.

Yeah the brow over the door & the windows are original, I've noticed that every Quest is identical but has one or two very minor differences. Look at Kingy's sink & the gravity fed water set up, & also the filler neck on the outside. And I'm not sure about the spa, I think a huge ice chest full of grog would be more appropriate to celerbrate all the blood, sweat & tears that have been poured into the Quest lately.
Cheers Kaz and Adam.
