Hi all.......I posted pics of this van 2 or 3 years ago on this forum and nobody was at all interested I've known the owner for 40 odd years and they used to use it as a timing office for cross country events Good to see that it has finally been rescued but I have no idea how you will repair the fibreglass on the roof as it was completely trashed and caved in way back then from water damage Good luck then, you'll need it cheers Adam

Hi all.......we now have our very well restored Fibreglass Quest on the market for sale We thought that we would give forum members first option before advertising it elsewhere The rego is due July 10th and if sold in NSW we will re-register for 12 months. Additionally to the link below, it has brand new timber fly screens, 18 new anti-rattle knuckle head window locks, new outer window seals, new quality inner spring mattresses, new brake shoes just fitted.......and bearings checked and repacked. It comes with 2 x sets of new HT holden rims, one set has fairly new light truck tyres and the other set has Remington W/W tyres fitted. There is also a spare set of Remington whitewall tyres that come included with the deal. Also nearly forgot that it has an annex with new poles and "marconi" clips and track. If you are after a quality restored vintage van that only needs to be hooked up to your car.........then this one is for you We live on the south coast about 130k's south of Sydney. Send us a PM or phone 02 44 460628 after 6.00p.m vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=photo&thread=3677&page=1

Hi fireballv8, Don't worry about your van having to look perfect. On the whole, that's not what we are about. Some people will manage to have their vans looking fantastic, but others either won't have the time, skills, energy or inclination to work on their vans prior to the nationals. But it's the joining in that counts. Basically we are a very friendly bunch and have made some great friendships over the years. We just like to get out and about and enjoy ourselves. I will also be there by myself and expect that there will be a few others in the same boat. Regards Diane Yep...........doesn't matter, as long as they don't leak in water then all's good

I have a good VF/VG tow bar if anyone ever needs one for free(VC-VG ass ends should be the same) Olfarts can confirm this. It was sitting inside a roof for many, many years. We live south coast NSW but I often travel to Sydney/Canberra if that helps anyone?

Hi all........as far as I am aware there are two marconi clip/marconi track sizes, 5/8th & 7/8th. We have the 7/8th on our Quest and we still have quite a few 5/8th clips left over, I think from memory enough to do two vans if anyone is looking for some . cheers Adam

Sounds good Reddo........I didn't realise that Tathra was on just over the weekend period rather than travelling the whole week(haven't been up to date with the thread) Of course we don't mind taking our girl out of school for the odd day but generally not a week at a time.........plus there is already the VV Nats this year! But we don't care if we don't get home until Monday ;D What I meant by only 6-12 vans attending potential future outings during school holiday periods was that van parks can get quite full during these periods.........so with a smaller VV group we should still all fit in ok. Regarding the VV tow car.........we have only had it out twice in 12 months.......the only things that never go wrong have gone wrong So everytime we go away it seems to be with a "modernne" tow car cheers Adam

Howdy all, We may or may not be attending Tathra........just depends on when that time comes around. Personally we think a different time of the year would have been much better but of course we will try to join everyone for a great adventure.......and even a sing-a-long with FJH Our biggest problem is that when any touring event is organised it is outside school holiday time........so if you got kids.......it don't work. Can't just go plucking them out of school when you feel like it. If in future events there are only 6-12 vans attending, then this shouldn't matter what time of the year it is held? Anyway.........as the time gets closer we will know by then for sure and hopefully will join in with the pre-Coledale fun! (and hopefully a vintage car that is actually going cheers Kaz n Adam
