Hi kazandadam, your quest is coming along very well, and quickly at that. i've also got my eye on one to, it's mine if i want it but a price has'nt been mentioned yet Daggsey and myself checked it out a couple of weeks ago and we both agreed that it's certainly a good restorer - here's some pics Where abouts do you live, if i decide against it , you may end up with one each ;D Kingy

Doing well makes me feel a little slow was going to do this to ours but have just been using it to much and not sure as how to go about it but seeing is a great help. Some things i noticed that are different from mine and the other is yours has a large brow over the door is this added or looking standard and your back side windows are seperate rounded edge windows were mine and other van have square top window matching into the lower window which is rounded . Great stuff , makes me want to go lift mine and start but its the only usable van at the moment. Pymie

Hey Adam, did you think maybe a sunken spa would be good in the floor cut out you did? How flash would that be? Put a lid on the top for the interior, then lift her up and jump in.. Very ;D Lookin good though.. I can sympathise having gone to the same level with Olive, just being all timber, there wasn't much left to lift off in the first place Keep up the progress....

Yeah the brow over the door & the windows are original, I've noticed that every Quest is identical but has one or two very minor differences. Look at Kingy's sink & the gravity fed water set up, & also the filler neck on the outside. And I'm not sure about the spa, I think a huge ice chest full of grog would be more appropriate to celerbrate all the blood, sweat & tears that have been poured into the Quest lately.
Cheers Kaz and Adam.

Guys, think outside the square... Fill the spa with water, ice and beer, then you can sit, keep cool AND enjoy a cool bevvy ;D

Hi all, This weekend we have finally got the Quest covered in some polyurethane primer, the final finishing off has proved tediously time consuming but well worth the wait as it’s starting to look like a caravan. There is still some mild high building to be done but almost there, I will pull the old walls out this week & start sanding the interior for paint & re-sheeting , so hopefully in a couple of weeks time it will be painted inside & out (hooray) & then start the final assembly process. Actually, it's interesting now to look back at the first few photographs at the top this page & to look at it now. Cheers Kaz and Adam.

Hi all, The Quest is all painted now bar the door, hatch & the spats, these will be done by Saturday. I couldn’t get any good photo’s that show what it’s really like, because of the shade in the shed the cream comes out pale or white & the orange, although quite deep in colour looks almost red. I picked out the best ones I could, have to wait till I get it outside. Nearly finished the wall sheets off today but by Sunday will be finished along with the floor tiles, then get the glass back in & bolt the furniture back in place. Oh, & we will be taking Saturday off to hang out with the VV’s at Berry this weekend Cheers Kaz and Adam This next photo shows the roof painted only in cream & the flash in orange, looking at the two they look like they won’t match, but keep looking!!

Thanks Jeff, you should try doing the inside, once the gun is fired up you need an industrial fan plus an extraction fan just to have a chance of seeing, but avoided runs in here as well so lucky!!!

G,day Adam, Great project you have undertaken. Thanks for sharing your journey. We have just bought a Quest which is in need of some TLC. Mostly cosmetic but needs a new drawbar. Nothing that can,t be fixed. Do you know if we can still buy the window hinges? Most of ours are broken. Keep up the good work. Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

Hi guys,
Are you going to share some pics of your project with us? One place suggested to me by Atog was caravansplus.com.au, I've purchased lots of items through them & there are other sites available someone else may be able to suggest, & like Atog told me, often things can be repaired instead of replaced.
Good luck Adam.

Great site - caravansplus.com.au Once you enter the site & see all their product, scroll across to r/h/side -'Customer Projects' & click onto. New page opens - 'Customer Feedback & Projects'. Click onto anything there that grabs your attention. You might even find some familiar info/pics! cheers gordon

Hi Adam, Thanks for that lead re hinges, will give them a go shortly. Have never come across this style before. Half alloy half plastic. Plastic is old and brittle also the locking thingos.
Still trying to master photobucket. When that happens will post some photos.
Cheers Bob.

Damn!!! Forgot to take the camera out today to show the latest update, I'll get some pics on Tuesday & post.
Had an awesome day today, the door, roof hatch & spats are now painted & I must say the orange spats look absolutley fantastic on the van!!! So obvious now though that it will have to be lowered a few inches & a mate has a 4" drop axle which will hopefully do the trick.
But that's not all!!! Got the floor tiled & screwed the dining lounges & bed's into place & also managed to get the kitchette in primer, & Kaz along with her friend Helen have made huge inroads into completing the retro curtains!!!
Until Tuesday
Kaz & Adam

Hi Centura-Quest,
Yeah the paint on our Quest is cream but looks more white in the photo's. The paint is a Norglass product, both primer & paint are polyurethane & unlike automotive products like spray putty etc... it won't allow sink backs over time & is a fibreglass purpose product. It was called either Norglass Shipshape or Shipright & comes in standard colours or you can order a special mix, hope this helps.
Cheers Adam.
