Hi vintage vanners. I was just checking with the Historic Winton organisers and noted that they have Moved the date back one week to Friday 17th to Sunday 19 th May 2019. I hope this will not cause too much trouble for those who have already expressed interest in joining at the races. Also Ineed to finalise the number of tickets needed, by the end of this month (March). So if you can join us please PM me with the number of Adults and children coming, along with your Postal address and contact phone number. Looking forward to seeing you there. King Fisher

looking fantastic and so cute, by the way being fairly lazy and not too conversant with domestic appliances.. myself I did not pre shrink the calico when I did the roof on Bessie in Fisher's Resto, but I did make sure I had plenty extra to start with, and kept stretching it was I went.

4th Caravans at Historic Winton (2019). The organizers the Austin 7 club, is inviting any vintage or classic vans along for the fourth time. * Free entry to vintage/classic caravaner´s who will bring their caravans to Historic Winton for display. * Camping available at the raceway campground for a fee * Historic vehicle displays and race day for cars and motorbikes * Fri 24 - Sun 26 May 2019* Fri 17 - Sun 19 May 2019This year they are running the 43rd annual Historic Winton. Every year for the past few years it has been growing, with more and bigger displays, more varied exhibits and more tenacious racing. Last year was the first time that the vintage/classic caravans were asked to join this great race day. This year they would really like to feature a vintage and retro caravan display again, as interest in this nostalgic style of holidaying is growing. As part of the 43rd celebration they would like all vintage and classic vans on Saturday and Sunday to be displayed to showcasing the retro caravaning and camping scene. This is a fantastic opportunity to show our vans off to thousands of interested vintage motor enthusiasts. Winton Raceway has a dedicated campsite next to the track, where we can stay overnight, the vans will however need to be moved a short distance from the camping area to the display area around 9am, for the Saturday and Sunday display. The camping fee at the race track last year was $25 per person and $10 per child per night – all sites un-powerd. As a show of gratitude for our support the Historic Winton Committee will provide free entry tickets before the event for the whole Historic Winton weekend to anyone who will bring their vintage or classic caravans along to the Historic Winton for display. The normal general admission fees for this weekend are Sat $30, Sun $35, Weekend $60 and Children under 16 N.C. It will be alright to arrive Friday and leave Monday morning. There will be around 500 cars and bikes expected to be racing on the weekend and there is going to be even more interesting exhibitors. Also, this year, they are anticipating the participation of several clubs that will create their own displays. The Historic Winton Committee are all looking forward to having a lot of fun again this year, enjoying the spectacle of historic and vintage racing and the atmosphere of the years gone by. I will need to give them a list of numbers (Adults, Children, Vans) - by 1st April 2019, please PM me the number of tickets required with your address (King Fisher). Then tickets for the entry will be mailed out to you closer to the event. We have been already invited back to Historic Winton. The organizers of Historic Winton, the Austin 7 club was extremely happy with our last turn out in 2018 and hope we can make it an annual event for vintage caravans, with an even bigger turn out for 2019.

Was a bit of a cold night, actually freezing - literally. I had to get out the generator during the night so I could run the heater as it felt like my nose was going to snap off the next morning was quite foggy and still very cold - brrrr but Wiffie cooked up a storm for breakfast

Thank you so much to all who made the effort to be part of our motoring past. I heard many say that this Historic Winton being described as a "Working Museum" which is so true as all the vehicles are operative and working. We had a great day there and was great times around the fire and catching up with friends. More photos to come soon when I sort them out.

didn't make much more progress on Jack, was not too well, but I did take off the trims around the RH window frames, and the roof hatch.

...I still feel overwhelmed!! However, it is great that you have taken on this project and I look forward to following your journey. Well mel part of the delay was that I too got a VERY overwhelmed with the size of this project (apart from the health stuff), but now that we have a target which is 705days 04 hours and 41 min away I have a new lease of life and are just concentrating on the smaller chunks, at this stage which is the demolition. Sadly I have to remove the roof too because the added tin on top has caused the ply to delaminate in spots underneath and some rot. do this weekend the plan is to get it back to a bare frame, which will mostly finish off the demo stage and back to rebuilding.
