Received these photos from a friend who understands it is a 1946 Chev. Can anyone please verify this? Evidently its home is on the Mornington Peninsula, just outside Melbourne. I'll try and get some more information if anyone is interested. Max

The 5 Roadmasters looked a treat as did the 3 Roadhavens. Come to think of it, every van was a winner! As a nostalgic photo shoot, the dual combination of Rex Wallis, with his 1933 SS1 together with his 1940 Teardrop, really turned "back the years" Congrats to everyone who made Mildura such a great success. Hi, After leaving the fantastic Nationals at Mildura, I stayed on a friends farm about 35 klms north of Wentworth. Over a beer, my friends said there was an old derelict caravan (used as a home by the local fencing contractor) on the adjoining farm. Whilst the van had been unfortunately trashed over the years, there was an old stop light ... could anyone please give me any idea of its approximate age and/or make. Any help would be much appreciated. Max

Hi humpyboy,
Winterwood is as happy as a pig in the proverbial, and I'm delighted to see what you are doing with the Safetee Minor.
I've only just came across this thread and I'm so pleased she has gone to a good home so that she can be restored to her former glory. I knew she had been a bit neglected over her 54 years but didn't realise the extent of her "condition". I knew she was well beyond my level of expertise and again, I'm glad you got her.
I missed your thread because I've got into the habit over the past few months of mainly looking at the "30 most recent posts" and as we have been away a bit, I missed your update on the 4th April.
Keep us all posted with your progress and include plenty of photos.
I'm assuming she won't be quite ready for Mildura?
Best wishes
Max

Hi Ray,
Sorry for the delay in replying to your query as I just noticed it. I've not seen the van in person but a friend is the owner so, I'll try and get some more information asap.

I'll be bringing with me to Mildura, a supply of names tags for anyone who wishes to use them.
With 100 people (give or take) attending, there is a fair chance that not everyone will know by sight, every persons "username" ... let alone their "real" name.
As corny as it may sound, name tags, can be a helpful and easy conversation opener.

Jan & I have booked in for 5 nights, however prior family commitments will unfortunately prevent us from joining the "Meander".

Even though the venue is just around the corner, unfortunately Jan & I will still be away in our van at that time. Hope it all goes well.

Hi,
If Blairgowrie is a goer, then we are happy to again offer our property at Rye for a Bar B Q etc. We will be away early March but should be back in time for the dates mentioned by Leigh.

Hi, Thought someone might be interested to see the original (dated 16/5/64) order form (difficult to read), envelope & specifications (somewhat easier to read) for my GlobeTrotter. All up price including extras, was 763 Pound. Who said, caravans depreciate in value??? Max

Hi all, Whilst in the process of transferring old files from 1 computer to another, I came across these photos. They were taken a couple of years ago, the van was on an vacant block in a small country town. All I could ascertain was that the owner(s) lived in Adelaide and very seldom visited the block. Any ideas on its age & make? Max
