Hi Don R,
Please put me down for 1 copy. I got within a couple of hours from Broken Hill but then had to return back to Melb immediately from Mildura … the DVD will show me what I unfortunately missed.

May I also add my personal thanks to all the Mods for everything that they have done, not just for me, but for all Forum Members, over many years.
Friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable, would be adjectives I would use in my dealings with them.
Well done and thanks Mods, may our paths continue to cross.

I think you may have added an extra "nought" to the sale price

Morning all,
A couple of days before the Corowa Nationals, I had to pull out on Doctors orders, with a problem knee.
Unfortunately for Broken Hill, Jan has been diagnosed with a very painful and debilitating Bulging Disc … needless to say, she will now not be a starter.
Jan has however, given me the green light to attend …although I may be looking a tad sad and forlorn, without my wife of 43 years.
See you at Broken Hill!!!

As the NSW Rego on my Don "150" expires in a few days, I arranged with Vic Roads for a new Vic Rego. Everything ran like clockwork. An Inspection & Appt fee was $42.60, The Rego fee was $47.60 and the Number Plate was $16.40 = $106.60. The items checked today were, Vin number, length, width, brake lights, indicators and parking lights. The actual inspection was over in 5 minutes. I had the original (1956) Gas Regulator still on the Don but for safety purposes, I fitted two days ago, a new modern Regulator. I asked what would happen Rego wise if the original Regulator was still fitted … no problem because that is not an item Vic Roads are concerned about. All the staff at Vic Roads were fast, helpful, friendly and efficient. Max

Thanks to everyone who responded so positively …. I'm pleased to say that, as of a few hours ago, "she" now has a new owner -- me!!
Doesn't get much better than to have a Don 140 & a Don 150, side by side in the shed!
Hope to pick "her" up over the next few weeks.

Over the Melb Cup long weekend, Jan & I (along with 4 other couples) were away in our Caravans (not the Vintage Van variety) up near Swan Hill. By word of mouth, I was told about this Don which has been shedded for the past 39 odd years … last Rego was in 1974. Apart from an ample coverage of dust (both internal & external) "she" appeared to be in pretty good order. As I could only really see the front and 1 side, there did not appear to be any rot … however there are a few missing bits 'n pieces. As it turns out, "she" is for sale and I'm currently in discussions with the owner. If however, nothing eventuates with the sale, and if anyone is interested, then please send me a PM and I'll keep you "in the loop". "She" is build no 593 which dates "her" as approx 1951-'52 Max

The top one was made for me by a sign writer at Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula - Vic.
The other was made for me by Daggsey.

Hi SGTL,
Can't help today, but probably can help for Rochester or Torquay later.
Leaving for a couple of days away now, will "talk" to you later.
If you get a better offer in the meantime, then please take it.

Hi Don R and Cobber, Back from visiting Liz and can advise the following. To the best of Liz's memory, the photos were taken in 1954. The "Swallow" was purchased new 1 year earlier in either Sydney or in all probability, Wollongong, as Liz's parents lived in Wollongong for many years, before they moved to Sydney. The photos were taken at her Aunty's farm "Toondullie", at Rockley, just South of Bathurst. In this latest photo (also taken in '54) you can just see the rear of the "Swallow" on the left hand side of the "Toondullie" house. Hope this latest info puts a few more pieces of the jigsaw together. Don R, are you able to move this Link to where it belongs in DHL? Max
