I'm a relatively new member to the forum compared to many others here but just wanted to say a big heartfelt thank you to all the moderators in light of recent decisions made! Although I haven't had the privilege of attending an event and meeting you all face to face yet, you have been more than helpful on many occasions in helping me navigate my way through the twist and turns of owning and restoring vintage caravans! I know this isn't the end for you all but a new beginning as the forum evolves to keep up with an ever changing world! Look forward to hearing from you in the future and meeting you down the track at an event! Thanks again ! Andrew

Ok I have found some info. Oh no!! Does that mean this forum will cease? I can't tell you how grateful I am to everyone involved for the mountains of knowledge I have recieved. I must say the photobucket thing is a nightmare! It would be amazing to have an easier more user friendly platform. I would be more than happy to buy a membership or something to be able to access the forum. Thank you

Hi,
I know a lot of people have trouble with photobucket, but once you use it a bit, like all things it becomes easier.I found it very hard to get to a working relationship in the start, & had a tough time mastering it.
At present I can honestly say I have no problems using it. But I dont try to look thru my history or library, I just upload the images I want to use each time I want to post them. So far I've had no problems.
I believe most photo upload systems will be of a similar level of difficulty.

Hi,
I believe these changes have been planned for a long time, then left until after the Nationals to enforce.Everything will have been pre planned I believe
It will be interesting to see the direction the new staffing & other likely changes are likely to take this Forum.
It will eventuate without input from Forum members, & go the way Mark wants it to. Its his Forum after all, we are just the users of it.
I just hope we dont enfd up losing 10 years of historical records, & all the technical stuff thats here.
As for the communicating between us for events, well if it ceases on this Forum, I'm sure someone will rapidly start another Forum to get what is needed for communicating events happening.
I know all things need to be changed, but I dont believe the Forum is too bad as it is. Sure its going thru a quiet period, but that appears to be normal.
"If it aint broke, dont fix it" is something I learnt a long time ago

Hello Firefighter, Conti, Urkel65 and DonRicardo,
Most of what is done by moderators is quiet work without recognition: managing and moving postings, administration of accounts, and other details which are never seen or mentioned. However, if there is a problem, moderators act knowing that whatever they do, they can’t please everyone. In other words, when there’s success there is little credit, and every problem sheets home. It can mean that the only measure of success for these hardy souls is silence!
Under-appreciation is a reality of life. There are some jobs that are not meant for everybody; the really thankless jobs are those meant for the strong who can handle it. Their appetite for unappreciated work comes from sharing their enjoyment in their area of interest and passion – Vintage Vans. The moderating team's passion has always shone through.
Thank you very much to the moderating team for their quiet, behind-the-scenes efforts, the tireless categorising of information unnoticed by many, moving posts, making “sticky” threads, helping people master Photobucket, listening to whining about one thing or another, moderating the wild excitement of the “new old van owner” posts, dealing with the fist fights, the sulks, and the fun.
As a member who has benefited from your good efforts in all the areas above, please accept my appreciation for a job well done!
Warmest regards Seeshell

I too would like to second seeshells comments but..... I would also like to point out that when older, experienced, dedicated, highly paid employees are dispensed with ( to be replaced by younger inexperienced people ) they usually receive a redundancy payment commensurate with their length of service and previous income. I would expect that has been the case in respect of our moderating team , and I'd like to wish them well in their future endeavours on the forum, that is, posting long and often Well done mates, thanks for keeping the forum on track over the years, your efforts have been appreciated Cobber.

hi all
we can't answer for firefighter, urkel or donricardo, but we did know conti (who has gone to that great forum in the sky) quite well and we know he would be very appreciative of all the supportive comments you all have made to the moderating team.
if he could, we're sure he would say it was a pleasure to serve you and he'd like to thank you all from the bottom of his heart.

May I also add my personal thanks to all the Mods for everything that they have done, not just for me, but for all Forum Members, over many years.
Friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable, would be adjectives I would use in my dealings with them.
Well done and thanks Mods, may our paths continue to cross.

Once again Seashell, you've put it beautifully!
Thank you Mods! For a brilliant job in maintaining relative calm & order between almost 3000 different opinions!
Take a bow for your true grit & humour under pressure & conciliation skills.
Then take a rest before coming back refreshed!

From me it`s a big thanks to all the Mods who`ve had to keep me on the straight & narrow when i`ve strayed. One really doesn`t realise it until you`ve been there & recapped on the their responses. So wishing you all well & trust you`ll still all hang out here to continue passing on your knowledge & advise. gordon
