Hi Bindilou, Don't worry that you can't find the 2009 Coledale Thread, coz there wasn't one until you just started it. It's still a bit early as yet, but the 5 months will pass before we know it. Alot of people from last year would have already made their bookings and have all the information, but an outline for everyone is as follows:- Just as info only - Reddo is organising a pre-coledale tour called "East Coast Inland Spring Tour" which starts on Saturday 17th October in Wagga Wagga and finishes at Coledale on Thursday 22nd October. If anyone wants to join Reddos tour, please respond on the thread called "2009 - East Coast Inland Spring Tour" As for Coledale itself. The main dates are Friday 23rd October to Sunday 25th October 2009 but some people do stay for an extra couple of days. It is held at Coledale Beach Camping Reserve, Coledale. Norm is the caretaker. Bookings need to be made with Norm by phoning 02 4267 4302. When booking also let Norm know the size of your caravan - that will help him when he is trying to sort out where to fit everyone. Also once you have made a booking, please put up a note on this thread. It helps give us an idea of numbers and also helped big time last year when Norms computer crashed and he lost all the booking info . Luckily Jude (Geoff & Jude) came to the rescue and sorted everything out. There will not be any powered sites left, as there is only a few to begin with and they are booked on a yearly basis. But it really isn't difficult to survive for a few days without power. Think that about covers it for now. Regards Di

Hi Di,
You are on the money - Julie has started the tread for this year.
I have last years spread sheet and will go see Norm mid to late August & cross check that all is good.
I think most people who were there last year will have re booked their sites with Norm, but for the past 3 years he has left most of it up to lucky me - he is not fond of computers ;D ;D ;D, plus he gets confused by the site names.
I have added Julie & Bert (Bindilou) and Julie & Rob (jj66rob) plus friends of theirs so we are off & running - cant' wait.
Going to have to give "The Annex Of Ill Repute" another outing.
Jude & Geoff

Hi Jude, Was trying to type the info without mentioning your name. Your always do a grand job in sorting everything and everyone out but I didn't want to just presume that you would step up to the plate again this year - after all you might decide to take a break and actually relax and enjoy Coledale instead of being busy all weeked. You do a great job, but it's a thankless task. As per last year - site 1 for me please. ;D ;D Regards Di

Spotted in the "Coledale Bugle" ( est: 1863) Late edition - Wednesday 20/5/2008 Public announcement................ "The hallowed turf of Sacred Site No: 11 on Kerosene Alley , Coledale Beach Camping Reserve shall again have the shadow of "Rosie" cast upon it from the Thursday to Monday. Likeminded Vintage caravan oddballs are invited to drop in ( and out ) throughout the weekend.... Dry rot , peeling paint and shoddy workmanship ignored.. fresh rot spoken in 3 different languages. "Bundynese, Tooheyswali, McWilliamsish" Lies about year of van manufacture encouraged. Workshops running all weekend on how to "back date " your van by 20 years. Replica "Made in 1928 By the Don Caravan co" badges .Artiificial lead light windows, cupboard drawers with "Ned Kelly was 'ere " ...scrawled in pencil on the back will be on sale in our trades annexe...... Newspaper articles available with blank squares so you can paste in the pictures of your own van and show your grandkids how famous their old grumps and granny are with their rickitty old bondwood box at Coledale 2009 ;D Open all hours - closed for cleaning 1.00 - 1.05 am ( even shorter if no one spills thier drinks) Free entry for those arriving before 7.00am bearing gifts in fully loaded eskys and toting deck chairs.............. Good lookin sorts ( sorry guys - females only here) given preferrencial treatment by "The Management".... ask about my cheap rates an low moral standards The Rosie Mirrorball Ceiling and sprung Dance floor in van has been extended this year and we are now licensed to hold 3 people ;D ....providing no one swings their arms around, farts or moves their feet. All bar staff full trained up in "T.I.S.O.F.D.".............................................the irresponsible service of fizzy drinks House music played until AA batterys go flat in $5 K-Mart Transistor... after which singing auditions featuring Rod Stewart songs will take place until our ears bleed or we are told to shut up by the park manager...... So... make it a date... and dont be late..... Remember... ""Ya havent seen heaven until ya have visited site number 11." Reddo

Hi Jennison,
If Kingy & Mez aren't there their spot has already been "baggsed" for this year.
It's a little early to really figure things out yet - but if possible will squeeze you into the cul de sac

Hi Jude, I am thinking that we may not be back to Coledale this year , so rather than hold our spot at this stage, could I suggest you allocate it to Jennison. Daggsey

Hi to all the "Happy Coledalers" Last year we raised some funds for Apex through Reddo's efforts which was great & the crew in Qld raised money for the Victorian Bushfires. ;D ;D ;D This year I have a REALLY easy & enjoyable fund raiser for all to contribute to - Sue (Sue & Colin) saves bottle tops to raise money towards wheelchairs for kids. So if all the happy drinkers could save their bottles tops & bring them to Coledale for collection we could make some kids & their familes very happy - TOO EASY. ;D ;D ;D So let's all get behind this great cause as only the Vintage Van Family can & collect, collect, collect Thanks in advance Jude & Geoff

Hi All,
Just so everyone is clear on the allocation of sites - anyone who has been before obviously re books their sites , which is only fair.
Once this is all confirmed we do our best to slot everyone else in where we hope they will be happy.
If a regular cannot make it for 1 year their site is "loaned " to some one else & I think 2 years absence should mean they lose their site - what does everyone else think.
I am not the site nazi, I only do this to help Norm & in the process try to keep the disagreements to a minimum. Though I did find last year you can't keep everyone happy

Hi Kaz & Adam, No probs, will put you near Rob & Julie & Steve & (oops sorry I forget - hopeless memory). There are no powered sites available. The van is looking great and the new acquisition will be brilliant once you guys fix her up. Don't forget to save, save, save your bottle tops for our charity collection. Jude & Geoff
