Said it before...say it every year about now.... 'n' ...i'll say it again this year.. GENERATORS SUX. PETROL DRIVEN STINKING CANETOADS...!!!.... "Kerosene Alley" didnt get its name due to the petrol consumed south of the ammenities building ya know.... !!!! If the van was built ta run on Kero, ice , 12/6v batterys and maybe LPG ......the so be it.... otherwise ya just aint vintage caravanning. If ya lucky enough to be among those that have a powered site then ya just that... ....Lucky I bag of ice per day for the ice chest 1 bag of ice a day for the beer esky A healthy 12 v battery for the lights each night A 3.5 or 5Kg gas bottle to feed the stove.... Jobs done. There is a couple of public BBQs straight across the road from the vans for free cooking .... so ...all ya need gas for is boiling the jug for that all important brain straightening cuppa of a morning... All too easy Reddo... the pull cord cutter....

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D No Probs Ken... Bring the red stinkin' sucker along... I forgot to mention one other source of energy i cart with me..... Its got under and over long barrels and takes 12 gauge shells....Your Tiawanese red polluter will be "totally Cactus" after one " kiss" from the Browning...... ;D ;D ;D ;D...... when i am finished the fuel tank will have more velocity induced lead in it than any" Pre unleaded" Super ever had.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Reddo.... not normally one to resort to violence to lessen the carbon footprint in Kerosine alley..... But... a mans gotta do what he's gotta do for a greener / quieter environment. Reddouble barrel shoty ;D

Street party and campfire is definitley the go for me. Call me an old git as well!!!!! No, seriously, I think it better reflects the "informality" of our select little(but ever expanding) group/forum/rabble. As soon as you start having to organise seating arrangements you invariably restrict circulation/conversation to small groups. Not to mention all the work (for a few)to organise it! Katoomba was great as we revolved around the BBQ , the party room and picnic tables. Everyone talked with everyone! Nuthin beats a good nite round the campfire jennison(grumpy old man and slightly deaf 50 yr old Git)

Hi Bindilou..... I am suprised at you. I thought by now you would have realised that no-one ever takes me seriously here on the network. Spyder has been bringing his generator ( a Honda i think) since the first Coledale in 2005. It is very quiet and you really have to listen for it to hear it when you walk past his site. I think it sits up behind his annexe somewhere and runs during the day / early evening. If everyone with generators took the same approach to running and concealing/muffling them the same way as Spyder does then i dont think that anyone would complain. Its just the inconsiderate ones that have some rattely outdated smelly ,noisey, clunker generators that they choose to run under the neighbours window all day and night that i get a bit peeved with. Noise and air pollution .. a double wammy It is the quickest way i know of to destroy someone elses enjoyment of the weekend away. So .. yeah... bring a genny if ya wanna. it would make holidaying with the kids so much easier i suppose. ... i am not the park manager,.. and all i am doing here is expressing an opinion that may or may not be shared by others on the subject of generators. However I am now, somewhat relieved. I WILL have to withdraw from the pre-tour much my regret, but will be there at Coledale on friday PM. jennison

Hi Jude & Geoff
Just confirming I'll be down at Coledale again this year with my Propert caravan and my two daughters. I might have something rather more spectacular towing the caravan this year with a bit of luck. I'm assuming Norm has booked me in as a regular, otherwise, we may be parked on the beach. Look forward to seeing you!

Hi to all Coledalers, Just an update - looks like we have about 47 vans this year , still waiting on a couple of answers. Everyone is in their usual spot (of course) & the newbies have been all found a place - might be a bit squeezy ;D ;D ;D ;D. The only spots left are over the creek. I will put up a full list in a couple of days. One question for all the BOYS out there, are the "Coledale Billy Cart Championships" going to be on again this year - hope so, it was fun to watch last year ;D . ALSO PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOU BOTTLE TOPS FOR THE CHARITY COLLECTION. See you all soon Jude & Geoff

Hi Geoff and Jude. Once again ... thanks for your organising efforts again this year. Much appreciated.
Re:Billycarts...... After last years feeble challenges i hardly feel it is worth me dragging the Team ReddoMK1 world beater from under this years stockpile of firewood. There would need to be some serious research and development done to even come close to the "Cyclopspeedwellstar".
Had thought about a Kite construction and flying comp this year... anyone keen on that idea as well as the billycarts.
Bottletops........Liver has been punished.. 2 ice cream containers near full of lids to bring down.

Hi to all the happy Coledalers,
As you can understand I have been otherwise occupied the last couple of weeks, but all is in hand.
All the sites have been sorted & I hope everyone is happy with the sites they have been allocated.
All the regulars are in their usual spots.
If I get time before we head of to Kendalls Wednesday I will put the list on here for all to see.
See you all real soon

hi all here's a listing for everyone who's going to coledale this year. there are no site numbers included because all of the areas need to have some "squeezing" done to fit us all in. when you arrive, please see norm or judy as you may need to straddle marked sites in the squeeze-up. thank you for your co-operation, everyone appreciates it. geoff 'n jude
