Hi Max, I believe Toyota landcruisers are the same stud pattern or so I've been told. ...they are ,but they don't look the same. I have a proper Chev wheel here that I picked up for our Don , but we're nowhere near ready to start on it so you're welcome to that one and I'll scare up another one later on ,cheers.....

Thanks red The bloke on the UK site was a Victorian too...... lot of knowledge in Victoria . aye? What do you reckon about the hubs ? Early Chevs were six stud right ? ..... was the PCD 4 3/4 inch ? Cobber. Hiya Cobber, only the Chevs from 37 thru 48 were 6 stud ( light trucks were 6 stud until the 60's)....before that they were same as FE-HG Holden. Without that hub being cleaned up properly it's hard to guess what it is...but...do you think it might be a modified hub similar to the one shown on the Chevy axle with the wooden wheels?.....without the wooden spokes of course .......

Hi, I have a pair of the earlier 14" Ford wheels that will allow you to run a hubcap and also will interchange with the ones you pictured , if you want details just send me a PM,cheers, Colin.

So where are the reports and pics guys? ...so where were you? ;D....surely you could have hobbled across for a visit? ;D .....seriously though ,it was a good event and thanks to Seeshell for making it all happen and also getting us some good weather ( yeah,I know I said there'd be no Weather Bureau digs....but I fibbed ;D))......not a huge turnout but sometimes the smaller events are the best ones , and certainly everyone got on well and enjoyed themselves. We were "blessed" with a surprise visit from Ray Roehm on his way back from SA, he was able to find the time to make a big detour to Glencromie and join in with us lot.....A good few of us jumped out of bed early on Sunday and made the trip across country to the swap meet at Nyora , picked up a few treasures too , which made it all worthwhile.....I didn't take any pics of either event 'coz I didn't take the camera ,so that part will have to be up to someone else to satisfy your request, and thanks again to Carley for a job well done ,cheers, Col.

Hi , I should have some for you, how many, what size and what style of head?. Not trying to be a smart#$@e, but that screw you showed is a self tapping metal thread type...... so if you can put up a pic of exactly what it is you need showing the head , I'll see what I have , cheers, Colin.

Hi Paul, the H caps are an accessory piece that fits onto a Holden hubcap ( if you're brave or silly enough to drill a hole in it ;D ).....I've been on the lookout for a set and I've got a drill....... ;D

You know the strips that are put over joins in the floor or edge of lino? Those nails are dome headed but I doubt they would be stainless. Does anybody know? ...they might be , I can't remember seeing rusty ones so there's a chance. Might be worth asking at a carpet laying place , there's one near here I can ask if you don't have one local to you , just let me know, cheers.

Yeah, and Karen has just rung me back to clarify something.Anyone that is planning to arrive early on Saturday (or any day ), better not be to early. The office opens at 8.30am, so if you arrive before then you won't be able to get through the boom gates, you need to book in and be given a pass. Not a problem if you are aware of this, but a bit embarrassing if you get up at the crack of dawn to arrive early and then have to sit outside ;D ;D

Hi Carley, I just rang and booked two sites, us and chev51, we will be arriving early Saturday. PS......Karen didn't need a deposit, just our names and a contact number.
Cheers,
Kris.

The tail lights (which aren't all that unusual) on an early '60s "unknown brand caravan"..... have a look at this link.. maybe you can help identify the maker of these caravans Cobber. ...can't help you with that one Bob.....and those lights look like the ones on my trailer ;D, not far removed from the homely old Hella items that were on the Hawthorn when we brought it home ....and very quickly went in the discard pile ..... ;D ....found a few more lights to share..... ....lights in the foreground are '48 Dodge , quite a pronounced curved base on them as can be seen on the bare rim beside the pair......would work well on something with a distinct curve to it..... ....nice oval lights are '51 Ford, these are bit beat up but you can easily see the potentail for use in an old van....they are about 7" across by 1 3/4" high , not so large that they visually overpower a smallish van..... ....these are '46 Pontiac , a neat light too, but they are curved on the back for r/h or l/h applications.....just a simple timber base to space them out a bit will solve that problem..... ....these next ones are what I sent Reddo for his new van , they were off a Vanguard Spacemaster , eminently suitable for those who don't like American lights ;D , tho I dunno why you wouldn't...... ;D .....here's another pair that have a simple flat base..... .....ciao....

Thanks for all those examples you've been saving just for this thread and thanks for the semaphore one too, did it come in a left turn variety as well ? Cobber. Hi Cobber , yep...you just flip it over to the other side. It's an aftermarket item from the early 50's that clips onto the q/vent window divider bar and uses a torch like body on a swivel , when you flip it up and out a mercury switch turns the light on....way cool!. I'll open it up and get some pics of it.....I liked it so much I bought 2 ;D ( in the boxes of course..... ).....

G'day people's , This thread had slipped down to page 6 in the technical board so.... Cobber. Probably my fault , Capt. Threadkiller strikes again ;D....lets see if I can do it again..... ....there's a lot of good styled lights available from many 30's and 40's era cars , and they all have decent glass lenses to go with the quality internal electrical fittings.....unlike many of the el cheapo aftermarket offerings from more modern times that don't suit the old caravan styling. The set shown above are '48 Chevrolet and are available now as reproductions of the originals, right down to the glass lens and the stainless steel trims. ...or these '50 Pontiac lights we've used on the Woodie ...or the '46 Olds lights we used on our teardrop , thought they were a nice match with the squared off shape at the back of the van ...these '48 Dodge lights have a shape that would work well with a curved back wall on a Don or similar..... ...used these 54 Dodge lights on one of our vans some time back,,, ...or these repro '48 Ford lights we used on our Hawthorn ...they were originally front park lamps but now are available with coloured lenses..... ....the close up....number plate light is an FJ lens in a Campbells base ....and here's something Cobber will appreciate.... ...every FJ should have one ,eh? ;D

Hi Sheppo, I have some of those available that are brand new old stock. There is one complete packet with the knob, pushbutton and rod , catch plus screws , and a few of the black plastic knobs only , also have the knobs without the center hole too if you need them. Let me know which ones you'd like and I'll sort out a price. For anyone else looking for similar items , I have a few in yellow and red too , cheers, Col.

Hiya Reddo , the Bright costs can get a bit excessive, gets a bit busy there too. Cost wouldn't bother us greatly and it is a nice park, close to everything , but not everyone may wish to cough up that much.....Have you checked the surrounding areas like Porepunkah and Wandiligong?
