Now that Veronica (or V1) has gone to her new home, I guess it's time to fess up to what's taken her place. V2, no name as yet, is a 1963? Viscount, a lot bigger than Veronica. Towed home from Warracknabeal about 2 months ago. Started poking around to find lots of rot Anyway, we can rebuild him/her

I'll just copy my pics over to image shack & come back Yeh, rots pretty bad. Will require peeling & lots of timber replacement. For the moment I'm just doing the small repairs.

that does look ... projecty was try to figure out what that strange and manky black thing was in the third pic, then realised it was a festy mattress.at least I think that's what it is is the van's integrity compromised do you think? hard to tell I guess. spose you'll have a better picture when the skin comes off. you may be comforted to know that ours has almost as much rot, though it didnt reach the upholstery, nor obviously get anywhere near the floor. worth it though, hey? you have a beautiful old van and she'll be a dream when finished

Lovely looking van - the cabinetry is beautiful and the exterior looks to be in great condition. Hope to see more pics on here as work progresses.

absolutely beautiful interior, SGTL! can quite see why you're eager to get stuck in ! do you have a time frame for the project at this stage? very interested in how you approach it all

Time frame, hmmm? ? As fast as possible ;D BUT with the silly sowing season (farmin stuff) upon us, good help is hard to find. Mr SGTL keeps pinching the no.1 son to drive the tractor & as determined as I am, I still know my limitations & the BIG repairs are beyond my skills. Bit cool for caravanning atm anyhow

It is a bit brisk, innit! We're down to around 5/6 most mornings now, and works in progress have no windows! Good to see you got inside with a paintbrush, at least . Meantime, what are you sowing? Very interested to hear you're farming folk!

Hey Issy, we are sowing wheat, oats, canola, lupins & chickpeas this year. Nearly done. Got a little impatient today. Was going to leave the ugly 80's? lino down until major reno's are done so as to protect what if anything was underneath. Curiosity got the better of me & boy am I doing a happy vintage caravan dance! ;D Couldn't be better. Odd bit of glue but I think I can deal with that.

G'day SGTL What a great discovery under what looked to be pretty old lino anyway .... the people who put it on top of the original stuff obviously wanted to preserve it just for you You do know there is a Vintage Lino thread just waiting for you to put those photos in... don't you ? Cobber.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.uswow, that's a good variety of crops you're putting in! is it a good life, cropping? always appears to be so, from where we sit on our microscopic farm meantime, that floor is a cracker! how lucky is that, eh? even the VC in pristine order our van arrived complete with that most offensive of flooring 'faux timber' (presumably laid by some well meaning parent in the 90's, when little Johnny wanted to turn the dear thing into the blue cave of teen angst), but I'm leaving it on until the very last minute. I take a tiny pleasure every time 'whoopsa daisy' I drip paint on it

Li-know there will be a lot of floor envy going on. Might even be worth a night on the tiles to celebrate! Well done

Well it certainly was a dance floor when I discovered the VC! (dancing to the vinyl ) That was the last bit I pulled up too, Sent a pic to Mr SGTL & he thought I was eyeing off something on ebay. We are both 'floored' by how good it is. Nice surprise after all the disappointment with the rot.

What a lovely looking van, the back is very nice and the tail lights, wonderful. It's like a Santa Sack it seems every time you have a peak at something it just gets better. Congratulations, it is looking a treat.
