Wow, love the white hand pump tap. : I'm pleased to see there's more work to be done for this van than with mine. ;D Makes me feel mine is really achievable.

I'll have to ask Bill to come back and remove my VIC roads issued stamp( they issued it for the towing permit.)... and make a new one up and get it put on before REGO.
Has anyone got a pic they can post as to how the weight is stamped on?? I have been given the weight but its not on there. IF I could stamp it on it would be better???

Hiya, there's a number of variations in tools for the job, here's one..... www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_153766_153766.....most older cars with steel hubcaps used to have as part of their factory toolkit ,a straight steel bar with a flattened hook on the end that you simply insert behind the 'caps edge and flick it off......or you can get a wheelbrace that has the hook on one end too. If you can't figure it out ,you are welcome to drop in here and I'll show you the why's and wherefore of it all, cheers, Col. Thanks Kaybee, I'll have a look at the link and see how I go.

Hiya Littleblackbird.. We here at "The shed of invention "pride ourselves on our ability to come up with automotive "firsts".. Our team of engineers have come up with an environmentaly friendly "Hub cap remover" We have named it ..... "The pot hole" Yuppppp .. you read right.. The pothole. Gone are the days of carry cumbersome flat bars with hooks on the end... or wheel brace thingys. Simply drive your car or tow your van with the offending apparatrus attached to the wheel.. Keep on the lookout for the "reddotel -Shed of invention hubcap remover .. aka .. Pothole"usually found in the roads in abundance after heavy rain. The council buys thousands of em of me..... ...simply align the wheel with the stubborn cap with the Pothole ( trademark registered ) and drive flat out through it.. and... Bingo... off comes the cap ... No worries .. Job done. Here is a free tip at no extra charge....Keep your eyes on all three rear view mirrors...( yeah , yeah.. i know you have only two eyes but do your best Ok...)..... learn quickly that left is right .. and right is left ... you will need to remember this as you see your hubcap hurtle off over the embankment and into the blackberry bushes. Can be embarassing to run back to find the cap and its has exited to the opposite side of the road you have been searching on. ;D Ummmmm.. Reddotel would like to state at this point that we will not be held responsible for any resulting flattening or buckling of a rim. Nor the loss or damage to any other part of your vehicles suspension. Can fly to Victoria ( at your expense) and demonstrate the correct procedure. Can bring spare potholes if none in your local council; area ;D ;D Happy to be of service. Reddotel International - dipl. mech .injuneerink Love it Reddo. I know it works for getting roof hatches off. LOL... )))

Hi MODS, I'm wondering if the tech minded guys could perhaps put a link onto the Members profile pages that stays showing permanently, that will take us directly to the posts of their V V pics??? I think its a good idea and would save us all a lot of time hunting through the old posts. Is there already an easy way to do this and I haven't figured it out??? Anyway, let me know if there is and if not, maybe if other members like the idea we could try and implement it??

I have put an Austin hubcap( given to me to try by Gristy) on the wheel and it's a perfect fit. I can't get it off now??? I need to remove it to get pics and measurements for trying to chase up another matching one. LOL... There is a tiny little hole at the top and i'm wondering if its needing to be removed by poking something in? Its like a very large pin/small nail hole? Can anyone guide me through the removal?? thanks, Vikki. ( and yes, I'm blonde) so forgive me. LOL ;D ;D ;D

Perfect fit!!!! ;D Thanks Gristy. ;D ;D ;D I will post measurements and pics later to see if someone might have another 1 laying around that I could aquire? I put it on so well I can't get it off as yet...

Hey Chris, I just re-read your post. You say getting a sticker made up should be pretty easy. What is the process??? Can it be done at home with sticker material from the printer or by a pro. Do I ask the Photoshop genius who kindly did the pics of the stickers to do the layout and then take it somewhere??? Thanks Chris, Vikki.

www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vehiclesheet/historic_vehicle_clubs_policy.pdfProbably totally irrelevant but, has a little info on lighting. Link to Historic Vehicle Registration in NSW, on RTA website. Page 2 mentions that trailers are eligible under this scheme also so long as they meet the requirements of lighting, and other requirements listed such as the vehicle/trailer being 30 years or older. Page 1 states that Indicator lights are NOT required if the vehicle was not manufactured with them Looks like u need to be a member of an Official club though? IT has a list of eligible clubs at the bottom. Only to be used for Club events??? there doesn't seem to be anything listed for everyday use for non club members of Vintage Vehicles??

Is there a section on the RTA website that tells about old trailers? VIC roads has a few bits on trailer registration and in 1 section it states that if your trailer/van was built before 1973 you do not require, Indicator lamps and only need 1 stop and 1 tail light.. I'm not totally sure what all that means as I don't see how I could safely get around without Indicators?. I know this is no help to you in NSW.

An elderly gentleman who drives people around Melb city in his 1920/30's? Vintage car tells me that he has a Vintage Van from the 40's in his yard and that it is called a 'Ranger'. he tells me the nameplate is metal and the van is a Bondwood. I have to get further details from him, he's not connected to the Internet etc so I'll have to find him again one evening. Well, I have not found him again. He was very elderly?

Make/Model = RANGER. ;D Manufacturer = unknown. Vintage = 1950/60's?. Hi everyone, I'm starting a 'RANGER' thread as now that I have seen 'RANGER' clearly listed on the old Rego label I know it's a 'RANGER' but, there is still no available information on the 'RANGER' name. If anyone comes across anything in a magazine, book, word of mouth etc , etc, please post it here so the 'RANGER's' heritage can be discovered.. Thanks all, littleblackbird (:>)=

Hi Kelly, I have the fittings for the step on the van. There was a box/step that someone has made, but I must have a real step and an oldie at that. I will be patient, I'm sure one will turn up eventually. Unless of course, everyone else is after one too. LOL..

I don't know if anyone would have read the full post 2 above this, but, it IS a RANGER!!!! The rego label has it on there. I also contacted the Ranger manufacturers of today and got a very disinterested response, but at least I got a response , saying that they have only been in business for 4 years. So, I still need to find out if the RANGER is the model name of an old Brand name. I will never give up. I have to know, it's driving me nuts not knowing. LOL.. )
