well gang i have good news,i have found the leak and removed enough bits to get a good look at the nasty hole, and it's fixable,so with an old solering iron and some copper i set to work, making a copper sleave and tinned all the bits that needed to be soldered,i struck and after much pppanting and the odd bugger,it is sealed and holding 15 psi for 24 hours, i can tell you the little bugger went missing found him at the corner shop telling them to stick there ice,i managed to get him home and a valium has calmed him down thanks for the advice and help steve and little guy

the viscount van don't have a earth wire to all lights the van is the earth and over time it just gives out,the best and simplest way to fix is to earth the van frame and body with the earth in the cars plug, than go and put earths on all lights,it really is a bad idea but they didn't expect them to be still working 30 years later GOOD LUCK
