We have in a shed on our property a Hunter Junior Caravan. It's round, wooden, three tone in colour of baby blue, yellow and white. Inside is in good condition, bit dusty but it has one set of bunk beds, white wooden cupboards with original latches and ice boxes, original curtains and flooring, round and square windows. It's quite neat. My question is I have a couple interested in buying it but I'm unsure on what it's worth?? The outside paint is flaking and obviously it's very old and not structurally sound but could do up very nicely. Anyone have any information they can give me? It looks like it could be worth something. Thanks in advance Meagan

Hi Meagan, Great to hear about your Carapark Hunter Junior. It sounds like a lovely little van. And it may be more solid than you've suggested if it's been kept under cover for most of its life. There is some information on the Hunter Junior model on the Carapark thread in the 'Down History Lane' section. You can find the thread by using the index at the top of that section, but the part you will be most interested in can be found by clicking on this link. There are two or three posts on that page that talk about the Hunter Junior model. In terms of price, it is forum policy that we cannot discuss prices and values on the open forum. The reason for this is that there is no reliable guide to the value of vintage caravans. It all depends on how much a buyer wants to buy the van, how much they are willing to offer, and what the seller is happy to accept. Beyond that the value of the van can be affected by a number of factors including: - The rarity of the van.
- The condition of the van and how much time and money would need to be put into restoring it/fixing it up to a usable state.
- Whether the particular model is the subject of a current vintage caravan 'fad'.
- How much the potential buyer is besotted by the caravan in questions!
In the case of the bondwood Carapark Hunter Junior model, there are not many around. Apart from the one at McFeeter's museum in Forbes, I can only think of one forum member who has found one. At the same I don't think it is a model which is high up on a lot of VV'ers 'must have' list either, but there are always people out there who will have a particular interest in a scarce model, perhaps because their parents or grandparents had one, or they particularly like the shape or style, or it matches their proposed tow vehicle, etc. All sorts of reasons in other words! Hope these comments help you a little. You might get a bit of an idea what bondwood vans are going for by looking at the prices on Ebay or Gumtree. Let us know how you get on. We'd also love to see some photos of your van if you'd like to post them (there are instructions in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section). Don Ricardo
