There have been & are many discussions on timber repairs so with that in mind perhaps this huge (90,000+ members) aussie site might be of interest to those needing answers.Covering every conceivable aspect with timber its worth a look even for the casual reader. It also has sub forums covering non woodwork interests. www.woodworkforums.com/forum.php

Hey DC3Td Many years ago in another life, a mate of mine and I repaired the timber shelving in a refrigerated trailer. As you can imagine it was a wet cold environment when in use and a hot humid one when turned off. So the wood took a beating. We used the West System of epoxy resins. It is low viscosity IE it is like water to start with, so it gets right into any dry rot areas. Once it has gone off - it sets like a rock. Almost like the timber is petrified. Great system and saved pulling it all apart. Here's the link if anyone is interested. West System EpoxyAtog

Hey Daggsey ..... I remember, back in 2007 (it's the short term memory I have problems with ) 'surferboy' discovered this woodworkers forum and had the hide to ask them for solutions to his vintage caravan restoration ...... is he still part of the scene over there ? I see he is still a member of the forum but hasn't logged on for ages. Cobber.
