Hi everyone, Where has the year gone? Our end of year Xmas Do on the 20-22 Nov is fast approaching, so now is a good time to remind everyone of what to bring to make this year even bigger and better than the last...not an easy task. Firstly, the popular, "Ilse's Garage Sale Giveaway" is on once again, but this year we are asking everyone to contribute to make it a "Monster Garage Sale". So, if you have anything lying around the house, garden or shed, or picked up from a garage sale, that you think someone else might benefit from, please bring it along. Some suggestions are.....items for a vintage van, men's shed/car stuff, household items, plants, clothes or even old buttons (for our serious collector Lyn F). We will display all items on a table and like last year draw numbers out of a hat, so hopefully everyone will leave with at least a few items. Who will ever forget Earlee's antics last year...he had us all in stitches. If you have children, could you please bring along a gift for your child to put under the Christmas tree with the child's name on it...for Santa to give out. I think dosse would make a good Santa..any other volunteers... Dennis/Ob/David F, or if we are desperate, Trevor?. Does anyone have a Santa outfit? Secondly, the campfire with the pot roasts/vegies was a real success last year. If we could have numbers on who can bring what....firewood/ camp oven/ roast/ hot dish/ cold meat/ salad/ desert/ fruit platter/ sweets/ savories/ nibbly's/ etc. Lyn has kindly offered to make her famous and delicious boiled Xmas Puddings with custard. Can we all bring along some vegies, drinks, disposable plates, cups & cutlery. If you have a frypan/jaffle iron/extension lead/ large table/Xmas decorations/tablecloths etc please bring these along also. Trish's brilliant idea of left overs on a bread roll the following day went over very well last year. Late check outs are not a problem. Hopefully, we will see you all soon. dosse's better half, Ilse

G'day Mr and Mrs Dosse, Put us down for a pork roast and camp oven. Also the plastic plates for dessert. We have a few items to put on the garage sale table as well. Looking forward to this event as we had a great time last year.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

Hi Everybody....good to get things rolling early....I'm soooooooooo excited!!!! Think we'll be calling into Canungra on our way home from our "great trek south", beginning in about .... 21 MORE SLEEPS!!!!! Ute's all but ready, (needs a bigger fuel tank, hey Dennis?), and Fugly is rattling her tow bar in excitement..... We'll contribute half ham, have a new/old camp oven, Christmassy table cloths, some bon bons and will no doubt have a few items for the "garage sale". Will also have large frying pan and TWO jaffle irons on board Fugly. Hate to wish time away but....just can't wait to get "on the road again!" Cheers, Barb & Clyde.

Hi Dosse's better half We will bring two camp ovens and some beef to roast. Cheryl will make some slices as well. I will have a trailer load of wood available to take. It will be cut into small logs around 12 to 18 inches long but not split so bring some axes if you can (woodchop comp heh?) If anyone has some room to take some logs please let me know - it will save me making a couple of trips Thanks, Neil & Cheryl

We too are very excited. We will bring a roast pork & lamb to put in our camp ovens and we will bring some snacks. We have some vintage items for the gift table and can get our hands on a santa suit (let us know if you need it) I think OB would make a great santa but then JB would too.
Are we going to have the secret santa sack for the girls & guys like we did last year and I have to ask can Frank be santa's helper. I have a elf suit that can be made to fit!
Cheers
trish (betty) & pete (frank)

Hi all, Re: Trish and Pete's post.I'm dead certain that after "Frank's" slight appearances at Tallebudgera, he should definately turn up again at Canungra and i'm sure he would do an admiral job as Santa's Helper!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Re: Neil & Cheryl's post.Sorry Neil, I won't have room to help with transporting the timber. Re: Ilsa's post.I'll start sorting some things out to bring for the garage sale table. You didn't mention about the secret santa male/female present in your post, but you did mention it to me at Tallebudgera so i'm guessing that it will be going ahead. Can you please confirm and remind me of how much we are supposed to spend? - thanks. As for what I will bring. I don't have a camp oven, so can't bring one of those. Mind you it does sound as though that is being covered ok. Ilsa, I know, how about I hang on til closer to the date and then I will bring along any food items or odds and ends that haven't already been covered by everyone else. I'm sure that you are no doubt keeping a running list of what is being bought. Also as you have been there before you will have an idea of what will be and won't be needed, so perhaps you can let me know closer to the time what you would like me to bring? Is that ok? Kind Regards Di

Hi Guys,
All going well Vernon will meet you all there. We'll bring Christmas nibbles nuts and bolts(no hopefully these ones wont break your teeth), and l'll see if mum will do a bake off with me doing all the rum balls, white Christmas, and mum is also the Pav Queen so l'll work on that one too. Also friends of ours(Elona and Lion-el) have a beautiful Sunliner but wont have it on the road, they were wondering if they can come in the Coromal?. We thought if they can't be apart of this circle they could start their own.(Just like in Blazing Saddles).
See ya Des and Kel

Hi all We're definitely be coming to this gathering! We'll probably be coming in the ute so we can bring the Overlander (no brakes as yet), so we can bring some wood in back of the ute. How big do you want the logs? unsplit? We can bring a logsplitter/axe. Chainsaw? let us know what size firewood is best.
We can bring veges, spuds, sweet potato, pumpkin etc. We have a Dutch oven...is that the same as a camp oven? Or is it a legless camp oven! Could bring roast beef if Dutch oven is OK. Cheers Cathie

G'day All. Looks like Canungra is going to be another great advent with all the response we are receiving. Des & Kel Re the Pavlova.....I think that if you are going to bring some pavlova you may need to park your van between the dosse's and Neil & Cheryl van .....we are just being neighbourly.....And your friends with the modern van are very welcome to. Cathie Re Dutch oven....As long as it can cook the meat it will be all good....And as for the firewood we just need to burn down until we get hot coals then use them to put around the camp-oven's. Regards dosse.

Gday there everyone,
Ilse, I guess your the best person to talk to, how about you count me in on Di's trick, where I bring anything else along that you think might be needed. Can you give me a list? That won't be a hassle, but if you leave it up to my creative streak then the wheels will fall off. I do have bits of a VERY ordinary santa suit too, That needs some wellys or boots/thongs and a big black belt to complete. It is very ordinary though, I'll throw it in the van just in case.
Andrew.

Hey dosse, You can count us in for two sites the other being for Sarah and Brad . We have a camp oven if required and I was thinking of bringing along a couple of chickens to cook in our roaster oven. We will also bring some ham and some sweets. I can bring a log splitter if required and will keep an eye out on the forum for anything else we can help out with as the time gets closer. We could arrive early Friday, what was last year's procedure? Also, how many powered sites and showers and toilets are there? What is happening for dinner Friday night, is anything organised? Soooo many questions Richard and Pam

Hi Dosse,
Replying on behalf of our friends Elona and Lion-el, they are happy to bring along friut, cheese platters and chippppppppies to get everyone started. They require a powered site for their van and were wondering if they could get the caravan park details, and how long of a lead is required please?. Were also wondering the costs of the site please?. We were all thinking of coming down on the Friday before dark. Not long now, see you all soon.

G'day Des & Kel. Last year we had about twenty vans and all had power.....some may need to piggy-back from another van.......Length of power lead will depend on where they like to park up. My advice would be to bring one or two spare leads and maybe a small power board if you have one. Camping cost are $8.00 per adult per night.......I have booked sites for Twenty to Forty vans so there is no need to book as indivduals......we are booked as Vintage Caravans. The park is called Canungra Sport & Recreation Reserve and the address is Coburg Rd (0755435904) There is no problem with arriving early as most of us will be there early Friday. Regards dosse.

Hi all,
I guess you read the "wash up" on Coledale. When I get to canungra, I'll make up name tags for those who were not at the GC Feb, event.
That way everyone will not be refered to as "Mate" ;D
I know the "oldies" in this form all know each other and do not think name tags are required. However, spare a thought for us newbies who do not know everyone, including the older members. I have a shocking memory for names and even then I did not know who most of the people were at Tullebudgera.
Cheers, Ron
