G'day Cruz & others, We're currently in Dingo (youse all know where that is, hey ;D ;D ;D...famous for it's annual Dingo Trap Throwing competition).....signal not real strong here, so all will be revealed when we get to Rocky (Rockhampton, not Rockingham) in the next cuppla days. Daggsey, hey (even starting to talk like a Canetoad ;D ;D) (sorry Mr Administrator, that's state-ist and I did say "I agree" )

G'day folks, Due to popular demand, I will start to give an update on the "Meandering Madonna". 3 weeks off the air will probably take a bit to catch up, so will do it chapters. Last port of call was Inverell in northern NSW. Headed north for the warm state via Bonshaw and across the border at Texas........ how's this for art deco...................... a little behind the times at Texas Telstra exchange ;D ;D......... Headed for Toowoomba......doing it hard in Millmerrin................ some outstanding artwork in Millmerrin and corrugated iron as well ........... More to follow soon...... Daggsey

Lacem......well spotted re Bendigo pottery.........a legacy of Bendigo swap meet 2005. Sutcac...........thanks for the left-handed compliment ;D ;D ;D ;D Cruz.........Qld, sunny one day, the next.......not too sure where they got that from.........wearing ugh boots in Rockhampton not what I had in mind . Anyway, back to the story............... We decided to undertake JBJ's "Western Queensland Wander 2009" in 2008 to give feedback re auto gas availability and caravan parks. Consequently, the journey begins from Toowoomba, a major regional centre in the Darling Downs........I'd rather not pre-empt too much for what next year's participants can expect, but here are a few of our views.......... The inevitable cemetery visit, but the Toowoomba last resting place is HUGE.....a tourist pamphlet on this is available from the Tourist Bureau.......... this departed soul must have been a true survivour for the 1800's (and born the year after Captain Phillip arrived in Australia)................ A visit to the Cobb & Co museum is a must................ how's this for a cat amongst the pidgeons when we talk about vintage caravans................ this was a very young relative of mine.......... a rhinestone cowboy ;D ;D ;D spotted near Toowoomba, another rescue.............. spotted in Toowoomba......probably beyond rescue.... and so to the next town.................... There one minute..... gone the next. Oh and check your washing on the line ... the old fella likes a change of wardrobe before he drives off....... doesnt matter whether its male or female clothing as long as its freshly laundered. He has a fetish for ladies tennis outfits.. I seen him at Macs Hotel in Mt Gambier........ come ta think of it i might have proposed to him at some stage during the night ... Hi Daggsey and carrots good ta see all is well with you guys. Reddo.. from the far colder state.

Howdy folks, Been a bit busy collecting snakes in Central Qld so that I can bottle fresh snake oil for Pottsville & Coledale . One of the fantastic uses of snake oil is that it can rejuvenate the vinyl, leather and laminex of any vintage van (let's keep this thread on track ;D). There are of course, hundreds of other applications for this product, but I don't want to let out any trade secrets just yet I have blessed the wallets of all those attending these events......if your wallet is looking a little worse for wear, don't worry, be happy....... Daggotel Industries should have some nice snake-skin ones dried out and ready for you all by then . Hopefully another product that should be ready will be "snake biltong" ;D ;D ;D. "Lady Madonna" will also be undertaking tarot readings for a small gold coin fee donation.......all tax deductable and GST-free ;D ;D ;D. I can also assure all, that should any gold or silver cross my palms, the eastern european tambourine music will be maintained to a very low volume. Because of all of this activity, "Lady Madonna's Travels" has got a bit behind . This will be rectified very soon. Trust me Daggsey

Howdy Heather,
Welcome to the forum.
You're probably in the wrong thread (although I do have a Globetrotter ;D ;D), but certainly don't panic about that. Could I suggest you re-post your question by starting a new thread under "General" and calling it "New Member" or "New Globetrotter Owner" or whatever you feel is appropriate. There is also a comprehensive list of caravans under the heading "Down Memory Lane"....if you go to "Globetrotter" you will be able to read some research that has been done on these fine examples of caravaning.

Hey firefighter Have you ever heard of "beef jerky" The snake equivalent is fresh snake meat, artistically laid out on a hot Queensland bitumen road and carefully pounded by many roadtrains, but retaining an aroma and taste that is extremely unique ;D ;D ;D. It is suggested that only those with their own teeth partake of this delicacy . Biltong is the seth effrican equivalent ;D ;D. Like I said, trust me (I've always stood behind every car I sell ;D ;D) Daggsey Snake-oil Salesman to the Stars and anyone else with a wallet that needs blessing

Just curious, did you travel through Mirboo North in south Gippsland earlier this year. I recall a picture in our local paper of an FC Holden and caravan. The FC had a Commodore motor in it???
