To finish off our weekend away to Blacksmiths Beach, Susieq organised a visit to the Lost in the 50's Museum near Newcastle. Group shot Vintage USA caravan called a Shasta – usually they have “wings” attached to the back of each side Shasta Dinette The Mystery trailer – is a pop top of some kind – I think it has Customline tail lights ? I have about 100 other photos the cars etc if anyone wants them PM me.

hi sandra and sue good to see you settled in alright. if you're looking for a good healthy breakfast, the pie shop at the end of the shopping centre in gommera st makes the best pie with mushy peas and mashed potato in australia. one or two of them for breakfast, washed down with a carton of chocolate milk, will give you the energy you'll need to get through the activities you've planned for the days ahead. (they're low gi you know). we wish we were there (i can taste the pies as i write), but sadly we're not. geoff 'n jude Hey Geoff I have had numerous PMs suggesting you are inclined to exaggerate the virtues of that pie shop and I have been told that the best maker of mushy pea pies IN THE WORLD is located at Camden NSW however, I will sample the ones HE recommends and judge for myself....LOL The ball is now in your court Geoff in regard to this ongoing pie battle with HE who will remain nameless. I want you both to behave like gentlemen !!

DC3TD As we are both in Sydney, I too had that howling rain storm yesterday arvo !! I had just finished hand washing all the dirt off the Supalite before the storm hit !! Thankfully the tarps I put up kept 99% of the rain out of the van so I could paint her today

Painted the first of four topcoats on the Supalite today. Humid as blazes but NO wind and rain was predicted to arrive at 6pm. More sanding tomorrow before the final 2 paint layers.

After those great photos from Mustpall, I’ll just post my little story. I’ve always wanted drive Thunderbolt’s Way and my chance came with this trip to Inverell. I left Sydney Wednesday afternoon and stopped the night in Gloucester. A great caravan park of about 22 acres, so Wendy says – pick a spot you like and plug in !! Met permanents Jon & Fran, who just happen to know Reddo & Griffin – what a small world, shared cheese, biscuits and a bottle of wine, had a great night This photo is of my Gypsy & ute and my lady neighbour in Gloucester whose caravan is named “Gypsy” It was a bit foggy at the lookout at the top of Barrington Tops, not much a view Made it safely down the other side of Barrington Tops after switching places with a semi trailer a couple of times Due to the limited power supply Thursday night John & Sandra, Gay & Kel, Ingrid & Cliff kindly let me plug in my fridge. We had to give out a cooee when we wanted to switch on a kettle on so we didn’t trip the safety fuse !! Friday saw the electricians installing the generator and the second power board, so I moved to another shady tree !! One of several afternoon storms that accompanied winds that had us all holding awnings down New neighbours Alan & Gabbie from Narrabri I snuck out Sunday arvo to visit the local National Transport Museum, sadly no caravans, but a good selection of car, motorbikes, trucks & buses. Website www.nationaltransportmuseum.info/I big thank you to John, Kel & Cliff who lent me a bit of “muscle” when I needed it !! Left Inverell about 6am Monday and arrived home about 3.15pm Sandra

Hi rare00
Paint is used to "glue" the calico to the roof.
Take your time and do your research here on the Forum as to how to do it as it is a big job
Most people to the "slop" method, where you have two to four mates come over to help you slop paint down in small sections, then you roll the Calico over the paint, then apply more paint over the top, then squish it together using a brush or roller
I did mine a different way - not everyone's "cup of tea", so far so good but she's not been "water tested" yet
Yes, I was able to buy the material in one piece as I measured my roof twice and allowed for extra overhang - very important !!
Wash the Calico and make sure it dries straight.
I know Gypsy10 did his roof earlier this year and it look great
Why not practice on small pieces of plywood first - I did !!
Cheers and good luck
