My car club in Canberra is having their show on May 24th at Queanbeyan showground. If you have a car and would like to enter or just come for a look please come along.
For something new they would like to ask anyone with a vintage van who might like to display it on the day and promote our Hobby to bring it along. You can camp for free with power supplied on the sat nite prior at the showground. With a few vv.com members in the car club its a chance to get together round the campfire( yes we have one of those) and a chance to check out some nice cars and vans the following day. They are quite aware of the no judging creed with VVers so no worries there. Your tow car be it modern or old of any make, makes no difference as usual. Just trying to add some more things of interest for people to see. The only thing they would need is for you to complete an entrants form so you are covered by our insurance. No costs to you.
So like a free camp in the Canberra region a yap round the campfire an eyeful of top cars and vans and a chance to get food poisoning from my camp oven damper sat nite ( just kidding .. I'm using sutcacs patented never fail acme recipe and cooking timings!) please give me a pm

Beautiful day in Qbn today...minus five this morning but the fire was raging. lovely to meet bluebird(Monica and Shawn) and catch up with aqua mum , Reddo, koala and all the local vvers who came along. There was an immaculate roadhaven that turned up. They had had it a week! It came From barnesdale Vic. Another amazing setup was a recent conversion by gazmk1. Behind his immaculate EH wagon was a matching Eh bodied camper trailer. I have flicked DONR a photo which if I may prevail on him again will post on this thread. Otherwise I'm sure koala will whack up a copy. A really nicely done conversion.
Again I Can't thank enough all those who travelled a long way to help us support our nominated charity with their attendance.
Will Let you know the total when it's all added up

Here are a few photos from the ACT EJ/EH and pre 80's Holden day at Queanbeyan. A few of us braved the ice to camp overnight.
Nothing like a little fire to keep the minus 6 degrees at bay

And the 56 Buick had to stay outside and shiver.

Nice Roadhaven. Previously well restored before being purchased by the enthusiastic new owners. Wooden chassis has been overlaid with steel and a new draw bar attached to this......exactly the same as I intend with Grandads Van.

Sandra was parked in front of our Buick and Franklin with Reddos teardrop to the right. Sandra is a very keen forum member who comes along and really enjoys herself........even though she seems to be always picking on me.

Nice combination. Also a nice Viscount in the background owned by Monica and Shawn (I think)who we will see more of.
