G'day DCI Don Ricardo,
Yes poor old Driftwood has been in self imposed isolation down at the Davis Station in Antarctica for months but still can't resist the temptation to pose for the camera at any opportunity. She is incorrigible đĄ

Oh that is sad news Geoff 'n Jude, our condolences also go out to Carrots and family. Lady madonnas travels is one of the most iconic threads on this forum, it's about Daggsey and Carrots travels around Oz. May he rest in peace. Cobbers.

G'day RS1990,
Good to have you back again with interesting old tow coupling photos. That Dale brand coupling was mentioned previously on page 8 of this thread but the photos have disappeared over time as have so many others ( including all of yours đ ) never-the- less for some obscure reason people like looking at old tow couplings, there have been almost 59 THOUSAND views of this thread since it started in 2005 so keep on finding 'em and posting photos of 'em for the amusement of the multitude đ

G'day Jim, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I have been thinking about your issue and that is a slow, labourious and not very efficient process đ I mentioned that kingfisher self hosted his photos. Have a look at this thread of his (right down at the bottom of the page and over on page 2 ) and you'll see all his photos are still missing and at the time he was blaming the cut-over to NBN for the problem. Could that be your case too ? Why it would only effect proboads forum in your case I know not đĢ Cobber. (still thinking)

G'day Jim,
I know next to nothing about this subject except..... I think 'KING FISHER' self hoasted his own photos also and they appear to have bit the dust too. That may be relevant or not ? COME IN KING FISHER. (I have sent a PM to King Fisher so he may come back soon)

G'day Micky, welcome to the forum đ In our restoration parts suppliers thread in the 'window rubbers' section you'll find a few suppliers including this one and this one They both have H section 3mm one side and 5mm other side. Finding 3 mm both sides could be a bit of a challenge. Cobber.

G'day Murray,
Thanks for that link mate it would be the best video of old time caravanning in Australia I've seen. Didn't see my van but I did spot an Overlander at about 7:25 đ I reckon hughdeany and Don R will have fun identifying a few others.

Struth Lindsey, What led you to compare these two threads from the good old days ? There certainly is a similarity between kaybee's lantern roof van and the Beaumaris van now that you point it out, it would be interesting to read the diary that came with Kaybee's van to see where it was built although I do get the impression it was a one-off I wonder who bought it ? Back from the dead. You have really done a great job giving that Jennison another go at life, she was a mess. I'm anxious to see what you've done with the roof mechanism, the draw bar, the tow coupling, the interior, you have done such a thoroughly genuine restoration on all the exterior panels I thought those other bits might present an extra challenge đ
I'm really pleased you took the restoration of this significant historic van on and with your collection of Jennison vans it does show how from little things big things grow.

Congratulations Chris, I love and admire the work you have done so far on this old van. She was a mess to be sure but is now on its way to looking like the van John Jennison would have built.
I wouldn't mind betting he may have rented this one out to people who, over time, treated it roughly ?

G'day Di, Lucky you đ Welcome to the forum and thanks for letting us know you now own Janaway 2, I would love to have it in my stable, do you love it yet ? Apart from the fact that I love this van just about all I know about it is in this thread about it's recovery. Unfortunately all my photos on that thread are not visible at the moment due to photobucket incompetence, but they should come back one day when PB get their act together. Go to that thread and post the fact that you now own the van, ask any questions and post any comments you have untill you are ready to start a thread of your own in the 'Members photo album' Cobber.

Thank you Geoff 'n Jude đ
Kylie singing Santa Baby is becoming a Christmas tradition on the forum, she brings a smile to my old face so thanks for that đ
We would also like to wish all forum members and vintagic caravan tragics a joyful Christmas and a safe healthy and happy New Year.

G'day Don R, I also gave a link to photobucket Facebook page which gives a link to another post where they try to explain what a great job they are doing to fix the problem while admitting that only the majority of members are back online.... I am not one of the silent majority đĸ. My most treasured photos[/a][/a][/a] and Driftwood album[/a] are still not visible. But in the face of a catastrophe I am going to remain calm and do nothing, might go on holidays đ Cobber.

G' day Stephen & Julie,
I had a similar situation with my 'Newcastle' van. The interior scrubbed up Ok after a wash with a sponge and soapy water, not exciting, basically the same colour everywhere cream cream and more plurry cream with a bit of very light green on a few draws down low. But that's the way it was back then so it looks original and that suits me.
Thanks for your well wishes, I am "well and truly đđđđâšī¸đ" ( depends which day we're talking about, it varies ) but I'm doing OK đ
Keep the photos coming đ she'll be a top draw van.

Sorry for the short notice đĨ but just to let you know that the "Driftwood by the sea side" Henderson charity cards are available for Christmas 2019. You find it in their "Merry Christmas McGrath foundation Charity Display Stand" at newsagents that stock Henderson Greeting cards. The "Driftwood in the outback" card is still available from "Gone Troppo" They also have a square, but less elaborate, and more expensive version of the "by the sea side" card.. Cobber.

' The Christmas caravan ' By Jennifer Beck ~ Robyn Belton First published in 2002 by Scholastic , this ed. by them 2015. Not a great book because it made me sad........ but in the end it made me happy đ Around $15 if you can find a copy. ANNOTATION: Simon and his mum live in a caravan. When Simon sees a competition in the newspaper for the best-decorated Christmas house, he is keen to enter it. His mother says she can't afford expensive lights and decorations, so Simon decides to decorate their caravan his own way. Ages 3+. Cobber.
