Hiya Humpty ,congrats on the successful recovery mission ......your new wheels look like Chevy bolt pattern '37-'48.....wheels themselves are trailer/van type aftermarket maybe Hendy ,Austral or one of the other popular companies that supplied the trade back then. I'm told Toyota commercials are the same bolt pattern, not that I'm suggesting you use them, but might be handy if you get stuck somewhere and need a wheel/tyre combo ,cheers, Col.

..... it's only a car...it doesn't matter.... Cobber. ...so I guess we can expect to see some indicators on a certain FJ 215 then?......held on with Phillips head screws no doubt.... ;D ;D....it's only a car,doesn't matter..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hiya Mr F/F,that axle is a T Model......if you're concerned your Chev might "reject" the Ford wheels, you could always redrill the adapter plate that is on it to Holden bolt pattern and bolt up some '34 Chev wires.....just don't tell Cobber ;D ..... PS....my Chev roadster has got Ford bolt pattern wheels.....doesn't seem to hurt it too much....... ;D ;D ...see...it looks happy.... ;D ;D PPS.....and you're right ...Reddo's generosity is legendary....whoever made that smartarse comment about profiteering should be ashamed of themselves

Well done Reddo... you old scrounger you, Now.......... you will get rid of those wheels won't you... AND NOTHING ELSE ! I can imagine you are tickled pink. Cobber. I vote to keep the wheels, being that they are part of the van as it stands ( and also 'coz they are '36 Ford items and so must be good ;D).....but seriously, good work Reddo,a real treasure.......

Yep...that's the bit......not too sure if this will be able to be retained as shown.....the rig has Vac. brakes and I can't see me running all those ugly lines and column mounted control, so it might end up with something a little less obtrusive.....but if I do that I'll keep all the original gear and store it away so it stays as part of the 'van and it's history...if that makes sense.....

.... ;D...towballs eh?......it's off our '47 Lantern van, been doing some sleuth work and tracked down the whereabouts of the original '36 towcar......nice man had removed the tow hitch that corresponds to the bit on the van....and now we have it .....how does it work?......no idea,I'll have to get back to you on that one..... ;D

I go with Daggsey on this - VV get-togethers are about people, not displaying our vans in certain orders! For whom? I go to enjoy myself, not to worry about setting the vans up in brand or typeof finish order so that joe public can have a perve! Next we'll be talking about not having modern towcars next to our vans again Ray ....yep.....exactly....

Hiya Leanne, are they tapered roller bearings or are they ball bearings in a cage that runs on an inner and outer race ?....if the latter , lots of early vans use them and they are early Chev style ,but there's 2 sizes and both can be a bit hard to find in a hurry....and expensive. There's a few guys down this way that might have them, let me know if you need any contact numbers, cheers, Col.
