Your family history is very interesting ~ I don't suppose you have any "family photos" of dad's van do you?

What a great find They would make a great "decoration" as I understand that "these days" we should not cook our food in aluminium saucepans...

Happy Australia Day everyone I have spent the weekend down at Goulburn surrounded by cows, gumtrees and fresh air, scraping, scrubbing & (un) screwing LOL. I am alot closer to confirming my van is a Supalite – yippee!! My Chassis number is discovered – it starts with a S !!!!!! All the glass is now removed, I only cracked 2 out of 6, there was SO much sealant and yuck that no matter how careful and slowly I worked.......... Used my girly sander...I asked my husband if I could borrow his belt sander (as recommended by many of the blokes on this forum) ....he laughed at me !!! .. then handed me one ... hmmm I have now put her....her...hmm...I’m thinking of naming her “Merle” after my mum who passed in 1994 when my 3 sons were aged 3,3 & 1 (yes twins). Nice and dry in the shed

Good luck with your search for a bondy. I looked for over a year. Beside's the website you mentioned where else are you looking? Many of the vans on this site are "barn finds".

Don
Thank you for your response to my idea for a register, and having been involved with various "clubs" over the years I understand your comments completely.
I did mention that only the "general info" would be included (and maybe our forum names), certainly NOT our RL names, address & phone numbers.
I know from hours of researching this and other forums & websites, identifying my van has been difficult as she didn't come with a brand name or a compliance plate.
Thanks to alot of help from other VV's on this wonderful site I'm 90% there.

As much as we love timber vans we all know where timber comes from. I was watching an excellent show the other night on the American Redwoods and a National Geographic. Look for the people in red & yellow jackets standing on the limbs: www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow/2009/09/redwoods.html

Franklin1 - Okay I admit it, I squealed like a big girl at the huntsman as it was alive whilst the little bat was seriously dead Barkpaint - for me is spiders and flying cockroaches, yuck Redo - diamond pythons are okay...where my van is we have in the summer months the red bellied black snakes and the much feared brown snake Greedy53 - (laugh) (snort) sorry but that is funny Denirapark1 - hey those coins might be collector items jamesandbel – sounds like my fridge NB: In responding to my shrieks my husband proceeded to spray said huntsman with half a can of flyspray...all this did was p*ss off the spider who then took to escaping the inside of my van via the open door and run madly about the roof from front to back where I was scraping paint off scaring the b’jesus out of me again LOL

Thanks gregw
As the van is stored at our weekender near Goulburn, 2 hours from Sydney, I only work on her (not as often as I would like) !!
I'm planning to be down there this coming Australia Day weekend and hopefully as least one ~ if not all ~ of my three sons will be giving me a hand ;D

It's think it's a girl thing to like purple cars I've previous owned a lavender coloured Hyundai Coupe & a Dark Purple Holden HT Monaro 6 cyl. As this thread is about the beloved Holden 48/215 etc, I'll just mention here that while delivering my future tow car (the Holden EJ Ute) to my mechanics this morning on a car trailer (he specailizes in old Holdens only) there was a stock standard green FJ ute being picked up and a stock standard green FX ute being dropped off. I was in Holden Heaven!! I have already bought my seat belts to install in my Ute, I'd feel naked without them after 32 years of wearing them !!

It's 13 minutes past the witching hour and I'm watching Channel 419 on F**tel...The Cars That Ate Paris ~ a film I remember from my girlhood for that VW covered in spikes....and what do I see in the opening scenes...a vintage van being towed by a classic aussie car.. ****Parental Warning....please stop before 4m 30 sec as it becomes a bit gory after that, okay The Cars That Ate Paris (1974) Scene 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f52V7LTpVI
