Hey there Big Kel........as you probably are aware these "American" Pontiacs had the "wide track" meaning HQ Holden brake conversions are not possible unless they are Canadian models I had a couple of 1960's Poncho's.......a tri-powered 389 with 6 airfilters, tricked alloy 2-speed glide and shortened 9" diff (shortened by 13") Yes it all sounds pretty wild and it was tubbed and wheelie bars too........considering it was transplanted into Mr Damage.........a 1970 VG 2-door Pacer back in 1989 Oh the memories.......had a couple of other 1960 pontiacs......alway wanted a '59! I nearly bought a '60 wagon a few years ago........its always in the timing? cheers Adam

Hi all..........well congratulations to Cruz, we're so glad that the old girl went to a good loving home . We are still very much vintage van nuts but have been extremely pre-occupied with other hobbies the past 12 months and as such....... one VV is plenty at the moment. We will look forward to one day seeing this fantastic piece of caravaning history take its place at the camping grounds once again Cheers Kaz and Adam

Hi again all..........well this has been an extremely hard decision to make to sell our little treasure We know that it will go to a good home because thats the only home that we will let her go to ;D I won't post any new pics as you can see how solid this little gem is.......I might need some of the inside though. Well folks, here is Australias oldest known full size caravan (early 1936 & 14" long), you can read the following post below. This caravan has been kept under cover in a farm shed in SA for all up maybe 55 years! It has a beautiful timber floor which will require no attention. I have purchased many things for this caravan to make it a one-of restoration. I have purchased many pre-war parts (some rare) and some mid-post war parts as well. I have new canvas for the outside windows and NOS swival clips! There is a box full of NOS bakelite power switches and light switches! It retains the original full size ice-chest and a Baby Ben clock recessed into the cupboard. Thats all the important stuff.........contact us about all of the other details and we can have a nice chat. This is a very rare piece of caravanning history and I would consider this to be an easy, worthwhile project. Contact us here if you are interested and send out a PM, then we can swap phone numbers and go from there.......cheers Kaz and Adam vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photo&action=display&thread=4496

Hi all,
The annual Hotrod and Custom Tug-In-The-Park is on again this coming Sunday Feb 6th at Stanwell Park for anyone living around the Sydney area.
We'll be there with the Quest and hopefully have the Royal's brakes finished in time. We will also be staying at Coledale Saturday if anyone is interested in making a weekend out of it.
Cheers Adam

Looking good Humpyboy ...........just one thing with the booster, did you use a VH24? They are hard to get nowadays, but there is a guy who does reproduction diaphrams from the original moulds if you were after that authentic look! The VH40 is actually larger than the VH44.....(9" against 7.5"), but people should always read any numbers that follow afterwards as they are for different applications.....ie: VH40 is for drum brakes whereas VH40L is for disc brakes, not drum brakes etc...... I don't know if you know this already...........however it may be handy info for those who don't already know! Cheers Adam

Hi all,
Spotted this in some classified adds.........cheers Adam
Retro silver caravan- awesome shape - Single bed, 4 seat dining, small kitchen area Overall in pretty good condition and has 2 new tyres.
Was been used as fourth bedroom, but moving house and no longer needed.
Needs a new coupling to tow away (a-frame is perfectly fine) or to be towed by tow truck and door needs to be placed back on hinges. A new coupling is around $40-$60 new.
A great bargain to come by! Please call/sms to come and see.

Yeah ours doesn't even have a booster but I'm looking into disc brakes. Rod Hadfield (Castlemain Rod Shop) does a conversion kit (just the adaptor & bearings/spacers) for $450. Buy some 69-73 Ford rotors & HQ cast iron callipers & your off. Interestly, I also found out that HK,HT,HG tie rods are the same! Cheers Adam
