Hello to yoosall, We've had to 'jump ship' for this years Canungra Van-in as it's one of those weekends when my appearance is required elsewhere, like sailing, sailing, and yet more sailing in the Qld. Championships At RQYS. We trust that you'll all get off your faces with enjoyment and that Santa brings all you wish for from the recycle tables. Best regards to all and a happy coos-coos, Paul & Yoko Hargan

G'day to all the Happy Campers attending Canungra 2011, What's planned for Saturday. After consulting with Dave and Ilse re Ilse's giveaway table we have decided to have this happening around 4PM Qld time which will blend in with Happy Hour ;D ;D ;D So the proposal is to start setting up the tables for dinner in the under cover area around 2PM Many hands make light work so all help would be greatly appreciated Di has made the suggestion that if any Ladies have a Xmas table cloth could they please bring one or two. Just got off the phone to Santa's Helper and was assured that Santa will be making his usual apperance so Mums and Dads and Grandparents could you please giftwrap a small present and attach your child's name to it. Di will place a box outside her van so if you drop your present there we will make sure Santa gets them to give to your children. Don't forget to dress up in the V or C theme it will be a great night if everybody gets into the spirit of the night Looking forward to another great Vintage Van week-end with a great bunch of friends and don't forget your dancing shoes ;D Cheers Bob and Jacqui ;D

Hi all
Well we're slowly getting the numbers up, now at 63 adults & 8 kids, making 71 altogether but still a few more to land in the bank.
Jim & Karen $50 + $10 Lisa $25 + $5 Dave & Julie $50 + $10 Michelle, Steve & Jon $62.50 + $10
I'm looking out for the rest of your deposits, don't forget to give the deposit a "nametag".

The arrangements sound great Jacqui.
Dianne, yeah I could EASILY watch The long long trailer again, but will leave it up to you guys who bring the DVDs.
Rod & Janette, sorry to hear you won't be coming, but "your back comes first" Janette! Let me know if Butcher Bob pays you the $50 direct for the dinner or you want me to give you a refund, then B.Bob pays me for dinner & DJ.
Cheers
Cathie

Hi all, Well not long know, til Canungra . It is always a great weekend away, but this year promises to be lots of fun with the added delights on having a DJ and everyone dressing up in fancy dress. ;D ;D After various discussions with other members involved with organising the weekend, following is an outline of the Friday and Saturday night (you will note that we have made slight changes to some of the previously mentioned times). [glow=red,2,300] Friday Night – Dinner and Movie Night.[/glow] Friday is normally a very casual night with regard to dinner, people choose to do various things depending on what time they arrive. Some suggestions are Pizza’s (Tel: 07 5543 4455), the Canungra Pub (Tel: 07 5543 5233) does great food and has a Courtesy Bus or you can have a laid back Sausage Sizzle and chat with other members around a BBQ prior to the movie. For those wanting to join in the Sausage Sizzle (BYO sausages, bread, plate, grog etc), please meet at Dosse’s van/annex at 6pm. (Smiles , Dosse and Banno have kindly offered the use of their BBQ’s to cook on). Movie.(Vernon ) Des & Kel have kindly offered to bring the projector equipment again – yee ha !!! (The movie went down a treat at Rainbow Beach). We’ve found out that Clueless Sharon is a bit of a movie buff , so Sharon if you are able to bring any movies on DVD that would be great? Also if anyone else has any suitable 50’s or 60’s movies that they would like to bring along please do so. Phil & Louise will be bringing along my copy of the Long Long Trailer in case anyone wants to watch that again. The movie choice will be by majority vote on the night. I would think that it should be dark by about 7.00pm, so we will aim to start the movie around that time in the undercover hall area. (Please bring a chair, torch, grog etc). [glow=red,2,300] Saturday Arvo & Night – Giveaway Table, Santa, Dinner & DJ[/glow] 1.30pm Qld time - Set up the tables and chairs in the undercover hall area. (If we can please have as many men as possible to help, as many hands make light work). Ladies if you have any tablecloths (Christmas or otherwise) can you please bring them along. 2.00pm til 3.00pm - bring along any items that you are putting on the give-away tables. (Don’t forget to bring along any items that you no longer need/use/want that may be of use to someone else). 3.30pm (for a prompt 4 pm start) - Ilsa"s give-away table & happy hour (don’t forget your drinks, nibbles and camera) (For those that haven’t been before, we all bring along any items that may be of use to someone else. We donate the items to Ilsa’s Give-away Table, we all are given a ticket number, then as your number is called out you get to go and choose an item from the table. Once everyone has had a choice, anyone can go have another pick from the remaining items). 5.00pm - Take your goodies back to camp and do a quick change into your fancy dress outfit ;D ;D 5.30pm - Dinner - The first course will be served, (platters of cold nibbles). Don’t be late or you will miss out on the food! 6.00pm - Main course will be served 7.00pm - 11pm - Entertainer "Simon Memphis" 7.00pm ish - Santa for the kids (don’t forget to bring along a wrapped gift for your child from Santa. There will be a box at my van where you can leave the gifts (before 5.15pm). I will print out this timetable and attach a copy onto the bathroom doors at Canungra for everyones info. Regards Diane

All good Di , have made arrangements for the dogs. As much as they are part of my family there is always the same argument over exactly who's bed it is etc so its easier on me for them to stay home.

Hi Doug - Yes it does look like it will be a great weekend coming up! Stephen & Julie - Thats right, Canungra last year was your first weekend away with us. Do you remember the chat the 3 of us had in your van about what the SEQ crowd were all like and whether you would fit in ok. I think I said something along the lines of we are a very friendly ;D and slightly mad crowd and that as long as you didn't take life or yourself too seriously you would fit it well. I must have been psychic as you've fitted in very well, so you must also be from the "very friendly and slightly mad mould" as well ;D ;D ;D Rod - Yes it is sad that you and Jeanette will not be able to be at Canungra this year, but getting Jeanettes back sorted is much more important. As for your refund, I haven't done the money this year. But I do know that the dealine has passed and that Cathie has already given the numbers to the caterers and so at this stage we can only add people, not take any numbers away. Last year Butcher Bob wasn't a member and he just turned up on the day as a friend of a member. So because they were able to be added at the last minute (and he is currently travelling) he might be thinking that he can do the same again. Anyway i'm not sure what Cathie has organised with regard to this but i'm sure she will do what she can as far as sorting out a refund for you or donation to the charity. I will send her a pm. Give John and Judy a kiss from me when you see them. Luv Di

Hi all
Thanks Di for the great run-down of events planned...everyone will definitely be on the same page!
Suzann & Matt...got your 2 deposits, likewise Scoot & Trub!
Rod, hadn't heard back from you re Butcher Bob, but will PM you next week, unless you want to PM me your mobile no & I'll give you a ring.
Have put final numbers into caterers now, so if there's any stragglers for dinner, contact me asap & I can add you into the mix (as long as I get the dosh). I can add numbers but there's no refunds now!
Remember there's a few people who haven't paid for the DJ as yet, so you'll have to pay your $5/head at Canungra. Di & I will chase you up...there's 9 couples, so let's do this quickly soon after you arrive so we can all get down to the serious business of having FUN!
Thanks all
Cathie
