Hi Nicole & any others
We'll be at Crows Nest so if anyone wants to pay me the cash for Canungra, that's an easy way to do it.

Hi all Just a re-cap for Canungra for the newbies...
heaps of space, no need to book site, 3 days of lazing about in a beautiful old showground with lovely waterholes in the creek or pop up to ORiellys for a bit of downtime in the rainforest. HEAPS of vin vans to hop in & out of.
Pay the caretaker for cheap site fees as you rock up on Frid 18 Nov.
On Sat 19 Nov we have a catered 3 course xmas dinner in the large outdoor/camp kitchen followed by a swap/giveaway of retro/vintage stuff (bring something/lots for the table).
Santa gives your kiddies a present (if you've consulted with Santa first, ie brought a pressie)
So meal on Sat night costs $25/head, 12.50 for the kiddles. You need to pay me by 1st November. Cash is slowly dribbling in & the list looks like this now
Obi & Lyn $50 for 2 adults Bob & Jacki $50 for 2 adults Di $25 for 1 adult Joey, Banno & the 3 boys $125 for 5 adults Julie & Trev $50 for 2 adults John & Dianne $50 for 2 adults Doug & Tracey $50 for 2 adults Rob & Cathie $50 for 2 adults David & Lyn $50 for 2 adults Stan & Deb $50 for 2 adults Janette & Rod $50 for 2 adults Stacey & Brendan $50 for 2 adults Sharon & Steven $50 for 2 adults Tanya & Brian $87.50 for 2 adults, 3 kids David & Ilse, $50 for 2 adults John & Marina, $50 for 2 adults
So that's 38 so far. keep it coming, only 3 months to Canungra! Remember cut off date to pay is 1 November.

Hi All,
Well only 3 months now until Canungra.
Just a quick reminder that the Saturday Night Dinner/Get together/party is fancy dress. With the theme being something beginning with V or C (V & C were chosen because of Vintage Caravans). ;D ;D ;D
There are heaps and heaps of things you can come as, but following are a few suggestions.
Cadet Caesar Cafeteria lady Cake Calendar Girl Call girl Camel Camelot knight Can Can Girl Canadian Canadian Mountie Can Can dancer Candle Capone (Al) Gangster Captain - Airline Pilot/Naval Officer/Army Officer Captain America Captain Caveman Captain Condom Captain Cook Captain Hook Carmen Miranda Carpenter Casanova Cashier Casino Girl
Vampire/Vampiress Vegetable Venus (Goddess of Love & Beauty) Venus de Milo Veterinarian Vicar Vice President Viking Viking Wench Villian Vin Diesel Vincent van Gogh Virgin Mary Vulcan (Spok) Valet (Car Park) Virgin Air Hostess
So whilst on your travels, start keeping your eye out for something to wear.
Also, I you haven't already - don't forgot to Contact "Smiles" and pay her for the dinner.
Regards Di

Hi all
We're up to 45 paid up for Canungra now. So I'm sure we'll get the 80 people to get the cheap rate for catering by 1 November, the cut off date to pay me.
From now on to avoid confusion/boring posts, I'm just updating "names paid" on the last post of page 4 just below Di's fancy dresses suggestions.
i've heard whispers that Dosse & Banno may be up to something for the Saturday night.
Remember folks, I'm just the bean counter for the dinner & phoning/talking to the caterers etc, so when it comes to the big Saturday nite, I'm happy to help, but I'm definitely not any organiser, that's up to everyone to do their bit whatever it is.
Cheers
Cathie

Hi All
Rainbow's now over, so it's full steam ahead to Canungra on 18/19/20 November. Not long to go. Although some people have paid at Rainbow, we still haven't got the 80 people to get the discounted price for the meal, so we need people to get moving on this ASAP.
Send me a Personal Message, then I'll send you the bank details. You can either do an online bank transfer or go into your bank, fill out a bank deposit form using the bank details I've given you. But PLEASE send me a PM telling me how much you've deposited so I can identify who's depositing what. Best if you put your name on the bank slip/transfer online so it's easy for me.
Remember cut off date TO PAY is 1 NOVEMBER. OTHERWISE WE'LL HAVE TO PULL THE PLUG & MAKE OTHER PLANS.
General agreement is to have a DJ play retro music on Saturday night after the big dinner. So adults need to chip in $5/head. Some of us have paid already, so if you haven't paid anything at all, please send me $25 for meal + $5/per adult. Kids don't need to pay for DJ.
So the first lot have paid for everything:
Obi & Lyn $50 for 2 adults +$10 Bob & Jacki $50 for 2 adults + $10 Di $50 for 2 adults + $10 John & Dianne $50 for 2 adults + $10 Doug & Tracey $50 for 2 adults + $10 Rob & Cathie $50 for 2 adults + $10 Stan & Deb $50 for 2 adults + $10 Sharon & Steven $50 for 2 adults + $10 Bob & Sharon H$50 for 2 adults + $10 Davey & Alley $50 for 2 adults + $10 Shirley & Richard $50 for 2 adults + $10 Phil & Louise $50 for 2 adults + $10 Amudha & 2 kids $50 for 1 adult, 2 kids + $5 Stephen & Julie $50 for 2 adults + $10 Bob & Loretta $50 for 2 adults + $10 Kev & Jean $50 for 2 adults + $10
You lot below, seeing you were good kids & PAID EARLY, you can cough up your $5/head at Canungra for the DJ:
Joey, Banno & the 3 boys $125 for 5 adults Julie & Trev $50 for 2 adults David & Lyn $50 for 2 adults Janette & Rod $50 for 2 adults Stacey & Brendan $50 for 2 adults Tanya & Brian $87.50 for 2 adults, 3 kids David & Ilse, $50 for 2 adults John & Marina, $50 for 2 adults Liz & Geoff, $50 for 2 adults Nicole, Troy, 2 adults & 2 kids, $75 JBJ & Sue, $50 for 2 adults
Hope this is all clear as mud, if it's not, don't worry, we're going to keep reminding you!
Cheers

Hi all, Starting to get excited about Canungra. It is promising to be yet another great weekend away. I have started putting together the items I will be bringing for the giveaway table Dug my fancy dress outfit out of the wardrobe yesterday. Haven't worn it before, so tried all the pieces on to make sure everything went together ok. ;D ;D Needs a slight bit of adjustment with the head gear , will do that next week. So all is ready, will just need to add some dark make up on the night ;D ;D ;D Luv Di

Hi all
Total of 63 so far & less than 4 weeks to Canungra.
Cut off date for payment is 1 November, so you stragglers out there, PLEASE pay me soon.
If we don't get the 80 people necessary for the cheap rate for catering, we'll have to either: pull the plug on the catered dinner & put some of the money towards DJ OR pull the plug on the DJ & put some of money towards extra catering cost of having low numbers OR OR

hi Smiles,
I missed the part where a disc jockey was decided on. What happened to our trivia night/give away table/etc??
What will be the cost difference per person with only around 60 people eating?? surely it wont be much more.
I would prefer to pay a bit more to have a decent feed, than go back to as it was, with some of the people doing nearly all the work. It costs a fair bit to go away camping for a weekend, & I seriously doubt that anyone couldnt afford an extra few dollars if need be.

Hi JBJ
Almost up to 67 now, so we only need 13 more adults & we'll be Ok re prices.
The caterers price goes up to $25.90/adult for numbers below 80, but there are some other costs that have to be taken into account as well when calculating the eventual meal cost.
Give away table is still on I hope! Guess it's up to Ilse whether she thinks doing it before dinner is a good plan, so that the DJ guy provides value for money straight after dinner. Then we can dance the grub off!
If Des & Kel come, wonder if we can do a movie night again, say on Friday night? Forgot to say in Rainbow Beach thread, big thanks to Lyn/OB for setting up the popcorn machine & passing around a giant bucket of popcorn for everyone.

G'day All Well not long now ......till Canungra and YES the give-a-way table will be on .....great idea about the movie night on friday ;D...if only we could have a free sausage sizzle to go with the movie ......wouldn't be concerned about not obtaining the numbers for the dinner .......only have to find $1 each. Counting the sleeps.....Regards dosse

Hi Dosse, It would make a difference of about $5 per head (not $1) if we don't get the numbers. As Cathy mentioned The caterers price goes up to $25.90/adult for numbers below 80, but there are some other costs that have to be taken into account as well when calculating the eventual meal cost. Others costs that make up the meal cost are: a caterers function fee, hire of the hall, table and chairs etc etc. So it would be more like $30 a head for the meal side of things if we have less than 80 people. Then there is the $5 per adult dj cost. I think we should just make the 80 ok, we always seem to have a few additional people added onto the list at the last minute (meaning this week as the payment deadline is 1st November). Rod & Jeanette - don't worry about not attending Canungra, Jeanettes health is much more important. I hope all goes well with Jeanettes surgery - having a bad back is the pits. Luv Di

Yeah Dave, but there's nothing stopping us having a big sausage sizzle on the Friday night if everyone brings enough snags for themselves! We 'll be bringing the BBQ & there's usually enough hotplates around. I imagine jbj will be doing a ShownTell with his new barbi , whoops I mean BBQ! So Friday nite at the movies then? After the sizzling snags? Sharon may have to come up with some program features!
Hey wouldn't it be great in Cowra, if there was still a drivein movie theatre to hire it for the night? I'd love to see Lucy & desi again on the big big screen! Imagine all the vintage cars at a drive-in!

I agree, a drive-in would be awesome. Since Rainbow, whenever I see a big caravan I hear (in my head) Trailer brake first, trailer brake first!!! Hilarious - I wouldn't even mind watching that movie again at Cunungra, it was sooooo funny.

i will be at cunungra but will not be able to do the paid dinner, we are taking our daughter(11) and 7 grandkids (3y to 11y) and the price would kill me.but we did it last year and was well worth it. so enjoy your dinner and spare a though for me and the wife, i must of be mad to offer the grandkids......

Hi all, YES, looks like we will have the Kennedy ready - it's so exciting - (inside at least), so will be coming to Canungra with bells on!
Unfortunately, due to strict diet restrictions and allergies, we won't be able to take advantage of the dinner, but look forward to meeting everybody.
See you all there ;D. Linda and Peter
