G'day Boys & Girls Nine more sleeps to go until Crows Nest....or if your an interstate truckie only two sleeps. Things you will not see at Crows-Nest are SNOW and Redos drop down heater Things you will experience are it will be cool so bring appropriate clothing.....we will have a camp-fire if you have some fire-wood to bring .....please do....and you will have a great three course meal ( Pumpkin soup optional ) and we will be privileged to have some new forum members and some members from over the border.....so I wish all a very safe trip to Crows - Nest. Regards dosse PS There will be no band .

Hey Paul, the way I was taught about how to get to Crows Nest is to remember that it's at the end of the longest main street in Australia - Ruthven Street. Get onto it and never get off it, and you will be guaranteed to end up in Crows Nest. By the way dosse, it HAS snowed in Crows Nest Cheers Ray

So have any Sunny Coasters checked out the road up the range via Ravensbourne - I believe its open with some "roadworks". My local source tells me its "OK" but the "car might get a bit dirty" on the roadworks, so "I'd better take the missus to wash it ...." Honest Tracy, thats what HE said .... Cheers, Doug

Hi Lyn & Ob, I think that because of the varied times that we will be all arriving on Friday ........it may be difficult to do the camp-oven's thing for those who have the time may be able to make some-thing to take and maybe just heat-up on arrival. Some suggestion's maybe pea & ham soup with some crusty bread enjoyed while warming your bone's by the fire . dosse Ps Just a reminder if you are able to bring fire wood please do Thanks all.

Have booked for Sat night only, Andy has just started a new job and doesn't think he can get away early Friday. I have also booked for the dinner on Saturday (the gentleman at the caravan park asked me if we were attending).
No caravan, Mildred is about 2 weeks away from rego so we will be bringing Molly our kombi camper Hope we don't cramp anyones style.
Look forward to meeting you all.

Hi We will be taking the electric blanket, so quite possibly we'll be staying in bed if it gets too cold!!! Rest assured after 30 years together it's just the heat that will be keeping us there! Banno. do you do pancake deliveries? Just for a change Steve's managed to get Friday off so we will get there early afternoon. Looking forward to meeting up, think we are going the slower way is that via Esk? less steep hill Take care

G'day All, I am posting this from the internet cafe in Crows Nest. We arrived yesterday, two days before we planned to. Temps in the New England area of down to minus 11 degrees overnight, made us scurry north at a faster rate than we were aiming to do. Weather is glorious today. Bit coolish last night, but compared with 0 degrees at Tenterfield two nights ago it's like being in the tropics. Possible rain on Friday and Saturday, so bring wet weather equipment just in case. Today is 17 deg, Friday is supposed to be down to 13 deg, then Sat is back up to 16. Two modern vans have already staked a claim on the area next to the fire camp for the Vintage group. They know "Steve" from the forum, and have been here since Monday. No other vans around in that area at the moment. Apparently the Rotary Club are coming this weekend as well, or so the 'modern' people were told by the caravan park. We are over in "Classic's Corner" where we were last year. No-one around us at the moment either. No major changes done around the park that I can see, so expect to see the same as what you saw last year. Well, gotta go and enjoy the Crows Nest sunshine. Pity you aren't here to share it. See you all on the weekend. cheers, Al.

hey Stephen, Julie & Al
Perhaps you can try & stake out the area around the camp fire before the Rotarians get it again this year! Seriously!!!! Move in on that fire area, claim it for the VVers & we'll bring our savage dog to lick the Rotarians to death by mid arvo.
We're bringing chicken pieces for the camp oven.
