howdy all
we just got off the phone talking with norm and he was asking about coledale dates for this year.
as usual, it will be the weekend after the nsw school holidays, so that makes it friday october 15 to sunday october 17.
we've let norm know that some members may arrive earlier and/or stay longer, so please let us know your intentions (including what day you expect to arrive) via this thread or by pm so the organisation can begin.
last year was a 'little flat', so any thoughts on how to improve the 'excitement factor' can also be added here.
(this year we hope to hold another charity auction - this time the proceeds will be going towards prostate cancer research - more on that later.)
hope to hear from you all soon - lets make this the best year ever.

Hi Geoff and Jude Good idea kicking off a thread for coledale. I ... and whoever is coming on this years spring tour ( 11/12/13/14th Oct ).. will rock in to coledale about midday Thursday 14th. Last night of the tour will be at Katoomba .. so yup.. lunchtime should be close. I go with the suggestion i threw up last year. Street party saturday night. Block off the road at the toilet block. Row of tables down the middle of the road towards the surf club after the evening meal... (or have a mass BBQ) . everyone brings a plate of nibbles and drinks. Maybe a beach party / Hawian fancy dress theme again I know it caused a bit of confusion last year but i still reckon it would be good to take up Julies offer of a band having a bash for an hour or maybe 2... bit of rock n roll ....nothing too loud Those that wanna bop... can bop.. Those that wanna sit .have a listen around a campfire can do so. music over by around 9 so the locals dont whinge I will start a thread on the spring tour somewhere else down the track after i find out whats doing with the big shed van display at the start of the tour. Reddo

:DWe will be there with bells on same spot if thats ok?? in with Rob, Kazz and Adam and Steve. Im afraid I will give the band organising a miss, and leave that up to someone else with contacts. Why dont we just have a jamming session on the Saturday night and those that can play an instrument say Harmonica, guitar, spoons, washboard, saucepans, bring them along and we'll sing along??? Looking forward to it already.

Hi all, When we were at Coledale on the weekend I had a chat with Norm about October . One thing mentioned was the dates that we would be attending (which is now confirmed), another was if we were booking with our real names or user names Some sites seem to be booked already (other than regulars), I thought we had booked for 2010 already but apparently not . We did get a site on the beach side (I think), but if Geoff n Jude or Lynelle can arrange for us to group together with Julie, jg33rob & steve (Olympic Debonair & Customline), that would be great ;D. I'll contact the latter two as I don't think they have booked yet Cheers Adam

hi adam and everyone else.
generally, everyone has the same spot as they had the previous year, so you'll be grouped with 'the team' again this year.
the only time people are in different sites is if there is a 'casual vacancy' available to facilitate a change.
it's best for us if you book in using your user name rather than your real name - it makes it much easier for both us and norm to keep track of the bookings.

Dear Geoff & Jude,
I'm hoping to make it this year, so please put me down for my usual spot.
Reddo would be interested to find out where the pre-tour is going this year - I might try and tag along.
Thanks Di

Hi Geoff & Jude, Put us down for 3 sites again this year. The street party sounds like the go everyone can move around to meet others but still all in the one area. We must have some musicians & singers amongst our members for entertainment (I don't though) who would be willing to show off their talent. I am all for it. Mustangpall

There are some good ideas there, I think mustangpal might be onto something here......if the weather is fine then maybe a street party incorperating a band outdoors I reckon would hold a great atmosphere in & amongst the VV's ;D ;D ;D Me & Kaz could do a couple of numbers with Belinda (I've made a few Karaoke grand finals ) & jg33rob does a great Devo too He may need a few ambers to get him started though We might be able to start the auction prior with the use of the PA system........anyway, just a few thoughts. Adam

Hi Geoff & Jude We are new kids on the block :-[but would like a spot at Coledale please with our Olympic Debonair I have attended twice in the past without a van to poke around and look at vans and cars but look forward to getting to know some v/vanners first hand, especially some Olympians I'm presently removing the 'baby poop green' from the bottom half of the van and it should be sorted by Coledale, even at my rate of doing things George & Barbara
