The Three Bears will be there - well 2 of us anyway! It is a great spot - walk to everywhere! We were at Mooloolaba Beach Van Park (the other section of this park) last weekend.
Friday and Saturday nights please.

I will try and make it to this one to finally show my teardrop and Hillman Hunter wagon . Will confirm asap. I have been away from the list for a while & just saw this but another suggestion for down the track is Island Reach Caravan Park at Imbul. It is on the creek front and in being set back from the road is fairly quiet but only a short walk to the local pub. Lat time I was there they had a covered are with fridge and barbeques for groups. Hopefully I'll finally get to meet the group at this one in february. Rod G.

Hiya David and thanks for being included for the weekend of Feb 8-10 2008. The van is a storage room at this time but I'll get it sprused up for the trek north. Is there anything I have to do like pay someone a deposit or ring the Oceanbeach to book a site ?? Please let me know as this will be a maiden voyage with your group. We look forward to it very much. Thanks again, Regards, phargan

Hi All,
Looks like a great roll up.
Dave, have you done anything about booking the sites definitely??
I think we should have them booked soon, or we will miss out. Let us know what you want us to do.

G'day all. Thank you for your response to our week-end away. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we only have 13 sites available to us - 8 on the waterfront and 5 directly behind, for that week-end. Of the 8 in the front only 6 sites will be available on Friday and the other 2 will become available on Saturday. So far, we have 11 definites, which means we can all come on Friday if we wish. We only have room for 2 more vans, so if you would like to join us you had
better get in quick. We have been advised that we will not be able to book officially until 2 weeks prior to the weekend, but they have bent the rules a little and have made an unofficial booking for us. If there is anyone out there who would like to join us please let us know by the 18th of December so that we can let the park know of the final figure. Sites are $40 per night with a $20 refundable deposit for the amenities key. Arrival times are after 11am and before 7.30 pm. Payment is to be made at the other Mooloolaba Caravan Park in Parklyn Pde. PS Received pm from Pete and Trish saying they will be coming. Also, spoke to Rod (hillmansafari) and he will be there too.
Regards, David

Dave. Just checked my other club events and I will be there with the teardrop and Hillman Hunter wagon. I gather this is a "no dog" park? otherwise one of my shar-pei (rolly dogs ) would join the weekend away. Rod G.

Dave. No problems. I've told the boss i am taking off at lunchtime on the Friday but may make it the whole day yet. I am going to have a look at Arrow caravans on tuesday for a few bits and pieces like a roof vent, door catch, switches etc to make it a bit more user friendly. Put me down for a beachfront spot Friday if still available. I write for Leaded Magazine (Classic Cars and Clubs etc) and confirmed with my mate that I'll use the weekend to do a story on the group etc so ensure the vans are polished as I will be taking a few photos. Rod.

Hi all, Caught up with old friends "Anglia46" Lyn and Obe in Sydney on Wednesday. ;D ;D ;D They mentioned that they are going to this "get together". I notice that they haven't said anything on this thread and I know that they have forgotten their password and so haven't been on the site of late. Therefore I presume that they have contacted you direct Dosse or perhaps via Santa28a or Sutcac's. Thought I would mention it, just incase you haven't got them down on your list Regards Di P.S. By the way Clyde, Obe told me what he said you should do upon first meeting me. Ooh aah - I feel like i've missed out now!!! ;D ;D

Thanks for the old photos and memories. I have been going past this caravan park all my life and this is the first oportunity to stay there. I see that we have access from 11am so i am endeavouring to make it there then. Is anyone else heading up there at the same time ? I have the Ok to do a story on the weekend for LEADED magazine (Classic Cars and like) so was thinking about doing a photo in front of the Etamogah Pub on the way plus will be doing a few more photos over the weekend. This will be my first chance to use the teardrop so am looking forward to meeting everyone over the weekend.\ I will be tinkering with the tappets etc on the Hillman Hunter wagon this weekend as I haven't driven it very far since restoration but it should be OK. the addition of some interior lights and a vent should have the teardrop ready for the weekend. hi All,
We should be heading thru Brisvegas around 9am Friday if all goes to plan. We will travel over the Gateway, & up the highway. Happy to travel up with anyone that wants to travel together, as long it as doesnt involve waiting on the side of the road for hours for someone else to meet us. We'll be stopping at some roadside service centre, probably on the north side, between 9 & 10 I reckon.

G'day all. Just an update on whats happening with the Mooloolaba trip. Been in touch with the caravan park today.... they needed to know exact numbers, names and when people are arriving- Friday or Saturday. As mentioned earlier there are only 11 sites available for Friday and an extra 1 on Saturday. As there are 12 vans coming, if we all decide to turn up Friday, obviously someone will miss out. If there is someone who is considering coming up Saturday our problem is solved. I need to get back to the caravan park with this information asap. I have been told that you can't pay prior to arriving.....payment is to be made on arrival at the Parklyn Pde Caravan Park. Any further questions please call me on 0407375941 Regards dosse

Hi Dosse,
I'm one of the new members of VC.com and my parents actually got me on to this site as they were on their way to a campout when someone stopped them and told them about the site! So i jumped online to check it out and here I am, my husband and I own a 64 Fibreglass Kennedy Bubble Caravan no classic car to go with it though! I'm not sure who it was that stopped my parents but they told them about ur Mooloolaba campout and they'd like to join you on the Saturday night, they own one of the old Aluminium Fleetwind Caravans aswell as a 4 door 1957 Chevrolet,my folks are Gordon and Petrina and look forward to joining you in Feb! Thanks Bubblesvanfan
