No rain reported over night, the out look is good for us to have a great weekend. I will check with the park about mid morning, if we don't get any rain in Caboolture or Bribie there will be nothing stopping us. Last night on the island and in Caboolture was dry and there is no signs of rain this morning. Any concerns give me a call 0419733949.
Regards Peter

9:15am Talked with John, the sites are fine, the road in is passable he was concerned however that our vehicles would get mud on them because there is a section of road in that had been washed out. This section is currently under repair, passable but muddy. Take it slow and easy and all should be fine.
To date we have only had a couple pull out.

Peter

Hi Will and Lyn
Had the pumps on from 4am fortunately nothing got in the house. Over 450 mils fell in under 24 hours, so i think we were lucky. Good thing with the island is it is a sand island and the water drains away soon as the rain stops. How are you guys going read to sell the f100 yet. Looking forward to seeing the stream line and rod.
Best get going got a run to go report on.
Regards Pete

Talked to John at 10:45 road is ok, no rain. Some of our VV's are already in place setting up for the weekend. 150 mil of water over the causeway then a 100mtr of rough surface to the site. Given vans are all ready in and setting up, I would suggest that the going is not too bad and we can expect a good weekend will be had by all.

How do all
18 vans of the original 22 attended a great weekend. To all the first timers, welcome we hope hope you had a good time. Some minor showers over the weekend but nothing to dampen our spirits. The girls had a great time hunting down the garage sales, visiting the antique stores and second hand shops while the men stayed at camp and looked after more important things. It was good to meet from WA Chris and Loraine who took time out from their trip to drop in a spend some time with us. Saturday night we gathered around the fire and enjoyed a meal prepared in camp ovens. Thanks to everyone for your help and contribution to another great weekend. The weekend was topped of with a pan cake breakfast, thanks Jodie a great job appreciated by all. I am sure there will be heaps of photos to look at and lots more to read about. Regards Pete

Great photos Daggsey. It was worth the quick trip up there this morning to catch up with everyone and meet some of the new members and importantly see some of the vans. Kel and Donna's Kombi and Bantam make a great pair. Looks like the Dosse Humber went through the water easier than the Landcruiser which is rare for something with the lucas system. After seeing the new vans today I have a definate idea on the paint job for the Munro
Rollydog ps. Did Mrs Dosse sit in the back of the Humber for the entire trip or did the dishlicker just grab the front seat for the photo.

Hey Daggsey Ya shoulda Known that the "Gill Fins" on Earlees EK guards was an indication that that it would take to water like a salmon spawning upstream. Glad to see you The SE QLDers bite the bullet and stick to the game plan. Neurotic creek looks like a great spot. Earlee.. i trust the "Dosse House specialty: of Bacon and Eggs ( over easy), The morning paper and freshly squeeze orange juice" was up to your expectations. One doesnt get the under carrage of his Holden damp to find the inhouse catering inadequate. Thanks for the non bias pics Daggsey. I am sure there will be more to follow. Reddo

Had a great weekend. Stoked up a camp fire tonight with John and Gloria. Thanks Earlie for the drenching. I should have known better I think P.S. Daggsey never mentions the certain person who climbs mountains and crosses raging creeks and gets her feet wet for his photos.

I agree with you Pete, some really great photography there from Bryden. I'm sure a lot of people will be saving those shots for their own albums. Never ceases to amaze me that in Qld, where there are the least number of these beautiful vans to be found has collectors who have been able to find such a variety of different vans and bring them back to life. Eat your hearts out, you southerners!!!! Sorry Mr Jack Russell and I couldn't be there. Really couldn't take a chance with his wound opening up again. Thankfully it starting to heal up quite well, after twice daily irrigation (a rather yucky job). Glad the Blitz appeared in one of the pics, or else I would be asking Schultzy and Suzanne what they were doing driving around Ipswich on Sunday afternoon with TD in tow!!! Ray

G'day all, It was all over way too fast. Great location, company and food. Frank Spencer (Pete), entertained us with his incredible impersonation and had us all in fits of laughter....what a treat!!!! Here are some photos of the weekend. Maybe not to Bryden's standard, but I tried my best. The Humber didn't like getting its feet wet and neither did Dosse. Dosse had a stack earlier, so is taking it very easy this time. The 3 bears...pappa, mama & baby bear Pete - "Is there anyone here who knows how to get this fire going"? It's not really raining in Sunny Qld...we are just showing off our colour co-ordinated umbrellas With the likes of "Frank", Neil & Clyde organizing our camp oven dinner, God help us all. Trevor showing us how it's done. He loved chopping so much he went home to buy himself an axe. Whatever Dosse and those furry friends are on, I want some of that!!! Jo making us pancakes for breakfast Looks like dossse had 1 too many pancakes Look what Trish found at the recycling station Jessie knows how to ask politely for food...she just barks when she wants more. Maggie took off with our bacon The fire is in front of the tree, so I wonder what those questionable lot are smoking behind the vans? Regards, dosse and Ilse

Great set of photos Dave
And thanks to you mate for the great start to the weekend with the bacon and eggs on Saturday morning. Don't tell the girls that this was the important stuff we men get up to while they are out at garage sales and antique store.
