G'day Mark & Deb Welcome to Vintage Vans.....we are quite active in the south-east corner of Qld and I'am sure that there is a week-end away that would suit your likes. As Dennis (JBJ) has said Neurum Creek is just out of Woodford via Caboolture. You would be very welcome to come along and if you do not have your van ready then just come for the day. Regards dosse.

Welcome Joey and Banno Thanks for the pics - hopefully it will entice more V/vanners to come along. Don't suppose anyone has access to a little porker for that enticing spit? ?? ;D ;D Ray Ps JBJ are you guys coming? Just want to know whether to pack the crystalware

Hi Ray,
Nothings changed as I can tell, so the reasons I gave before for not going to Neerem creek this time still apply for us,

Hi Joey and Banno
Neurum is a great place just to get away to,relax and enjoy each others company. The last trip there was a success and I am sure given the interest this year will be even better.
Well come and thanks for posting the pics

No probs, Dennis - I thought that was the case. Just hope you can still survive without the antique crystalware. It has pride of place on my display table, and being used as the container for my "dammit" doll. Boots would know what that is ;D ;D ;D

Kel Maddi and Donna Good to catch up with you today. Forgot to mention that those rims looked daggy on the outside but inside they were exceptionally good so I only needed to touch up a few areas which means they are solid and will last many years yet. Hope the whitewalls fitted under the guards ok. Look forward to having a good look over it at Neurum creek while enjoying a few beers. Just need a name for your van now. Rod G.

G'day Paul & Yoko Great news that you both will be at Neurum Creek. I am a bit concerned that you are (on your way) are you coming via Cairns or does the Austin share same engine as the Vauxhall Velox ? if so you may need to leave about now. Regards dosse.

Paul and Yoko, Look forward to seeing you at Neurum Creek. I am sure the Landcrab will make it Ok although I can't defend the heritage of your vehicle as my Hunter wagon and Sunbeam Rapiers were made in Scotland. With my boss away that week I'll be a late start on the road so the Munro will be skipping behind the turbo diesel 4b at a higher rate of knots than the Hillman. Rod G.

It'll be Paul and Yoko subject to her studies timetable and assignment to be finished and dispatched, otherwise you'll only get yours truly! Dosse, Just found out that the front and rear wind shields leek and the battery isn't being charged, so that will keep me out of mischief for a while yet. I bought the original one on the net and since then I've been given two more to use for parts! Why do people try to get rid of them I keep asking myself? No answer! Rod, The Austin was built in Sydney in 1970, that must be worth something Eh? Seeyathere Paul & maybe Yoko.

Paul
No matter what you say it is still BMC. My Hunter is similar with water leaks but it will be off the road in a few months to transfer parts to another car so not concerned. Unfortunately some aftermarket parts such as windscreen rubbers are not just right.
Look forward to seeing the Hunter Minore again.

I had to go to Kilcoy this morning so as I haven't been to Neurum Creek before & with the thought of arriving in the dark thought I would take a run. For the benefit of those other first timers I have logged the directions below with my GPS so if you need a copy just copy and paste them from here.
If coming from Caboolture way head towards Kilcoy. Enter Wamuran (for last minute alcohol there is good botteshop on left just before garage). Continue through D Aguliar and into Woodford. For last minute food and ice there is a Supa IGA on left halfway through town.
Continue through town and not far out turn left into Neurum Road. (Sign to Woodford Correctional facility) Zero your speedo or GPS here. At 8 k mark road narrows to single lane bitumen so be ready to move onto the dirt for oncoming traffic . At 9.1 k turn left into Stanton Road. At 9.8k beware of sharp right bend At 11.6 k turn right into Rasmusen Road (dirt road) Follow along. Speed sign is 80 but 50 should be better with van and beware of cattle on side of road.(road is fairly smooth at present) At 13.9k Floodway crossing with giveway sign. At 14.3k turn right into Neurum Creek Bush retreat. Office 100 metres is in front of you to the left. Definately a nice park to visit with fireplaces a plenty so don't forget your wood. From memory the bigger Wamuran service station on left sells firewood in bags.
Look forward to seeing everyone there. Rod G.

Kel The last 2.5 k or so is dirt BUT it is smooth as and not much dust. I went down it in a Hilux 2wd ute today that feels every bump and it was fine. They obviously maintain it very well. If anyone is worried about the dirt just keep the speed right down because it is only a short distance between the black top and the park. Rod G.

Not long to go now and the Munro has a few new accessories. I forgot to check the water situation out there. Are there taps on site or byo as the Munro doesn't have a tank as yet so a jerry can is in order. My boss may get back from fraser a day early which would mean an earlier run for me and maybe a counter lunch at the Woodford Pub on the way if anyone is interested? Rod G.

Hi Rod
There are taps close to all sites some of the water is not fit for drinking these taps are clearly marked. There are however drinking water taps near to our site.

How do all. Neurum Creek is just a weekend or two away and we need to work out what we are doing for the Saturday night meal. Previously it was suggested we do a cook up in the camp ovens similar to what we experienced at Canungra. What do you all think?? If so to make thing simple and the camp oven cook up is what you would like, then bring along enough to meat and veggies for yourself. This way I am sure there will be more than enough and any left overs we can heat up and enjoy with fresh bread rolls the next day prior to departing. (Just like Sunday at Canungra). I am not too sure how many camp ovens we will require so if you have one and can fit it in, bring it. Any other suggestion I am sure will be appreciated. Regards

Pete I'll just bring my little barbie so don't worry about me for the camp oven but I'll be a happy little camper as I just watched the teardrop finish on ebay. It will be heading south. That gives me the budget to finish the next tow car. Still don't know what time I'll get away on Friday as the boss may still be at Fraser BUT there is still hope for a counter lunch at Woodford if he returns in time Do you know what numbers we are up to? 16 or so ?

G'day all Thanks Pete (The master chef) the dosse's will bring a lamb, veggies and camp oven. The rumour is that Neil will bring 17 ton of fire wood ........But just incase this is un-true..... better that we all bring some wood to burn or some un-wanted furniture.....Only 8 more sleeps to go. Regards dosse.
