Hi Humpty,
If you had more of that mix of Jailbarjuice you wouldn't feel the cold much. Jeez it used to be a smoooooooooth drop.
I suppose we all regret somethings in life, but I did enjoy the period of time I brewed my own juice. ( & consumed it )
Now I gotta settle for bottled Sour Mash Bourbons to stay out of strife ( Hopefully)
Jailbarjuice ( For tonight)

The lengths that people will go to just to entertain us with great stories on this site, I mean camping out in near snow conditions!
Well done guys & girls, what a great xmas dinner, hope you all had powered sites to keep those heaters burning, & watch out for that Santa, he looks like he was on a lot of crack..................

Hi Humpty,
Thanks for posting the photos of Santa's antics. We didn't take our camera down on Saturday night, not expecting anything like that. Sorta glad we didn't as I don't think I would have been capable of taking any photos, too much laughing ;D ;D ;D. Reddo had his camera and I am sure when he gets home he will have lots more to photos to post.
Thanks to Cliff & Ingrid for their brilliant efforts , I am still finding bits of "Santa Snow" everywhere.
Can't wait for the article in Caravan & Motorhomes to come out, the first one ever with a sealed section (the photographers who took some shots during the day came back for the evening "show").
Also a big thanks to Ken & Val for providing the gas heater and to Jennison for saving the day when the gas ran out.
Can't wait for next year
Jude & Geoff

Yo... and G'Day to all the chickens that baled out before the cold weather arrived last night.... ;D What can i say that hasnt already been said. One of the funniest weekends away with the van mob i have ever had.. Sure ......it was cold... but that only bought us closer together.... Great company. The Old Olden ran like a clock all the way down there on Friday. Got to the park and collapsed. We had to pull the dizzy out and clean the points, replace the coil and condenser before the Olld bugger would run again. Left there at 8:15 this morning... got home 12.15 pm. Not a bad effort for a wobbly old grey motor.. I will let the pictures tell the story with the occassional sub titles... Road into the van park toook a bit of negotiating.... Nuthin like a few chrissie lights ta brighten up the show.. Had to evict a few friendly backpackers from the camp kitchen... Nice girls from Switzerland and Germany... Cliff and Ingrids van , complete with chrissie lights. Bit of a ruckus early on Friday night... Ken Kennedy from W.A . Here he is up to his nuts in Jatz Crackers..... ... or is that up to his Jatz Crackers in Nutz ;D Spyder legs... or are they his angora Bowling creams he has on.. This is what ya lookin at if ya get the front seat on the scenic railway.....that hole in the rock ya can see is what ya drop through... 52 degree drop for ... i cant remeber how many metres ... but the ride is enough to send the inside of your Levis all brown. Yep.. i will obey. The old Katoomba shale mine about 30 yards from the base of the railway.... heaps of new boardwalk to scamper along....Luckily there is a cable car ta take ya back to the top... Orphan rock All this hikin gives a bloke a thirst so we all agreed to "rendevous at the Carrington Hotel at 2.00pm. All a bit too ritzy for us vintage van riff raff. After hob knobbing at the Carrington for a few schooies it was time ta head back to camp for the saturday night nosh up... Nothing could have prepared us for the fun and frivolity that was to follow... More later... Redd..ho.. ho.. ho....

Hi All, Well, on the upside at least its not 365 days again til Xmas! Anywho, looks like you all had a great time. Bummer we had to bomb out Great pics, although for some reason, the more disturbed part of me kept seeing images of Reddo trying to get back in Rosie down the chimney on Sat night rather than thru the door ;D J

Congrats Reddo on organising a successful VV run in the coldest spot in NSW in the middle of winter The members who attended this run deserve a medal ;D .......I for one dunno whether I would've attended this run .....me don't like the cold .....but after witnessing the fun you guys had, it was an event not to be missed Reddo .....Rosie looks great decorated in the Chrissy decs ............ and the shots of those three lil vans together (MrFJ55's, Rosie & the Pixie) is a classic .......and I see "Daggsey" type pics in the post, ......giving us other V V ers an idea of where you guys visited, and the fun you had during your travels ............. and a top effort by Chris & Col (kaybees) for making the trip up from Melbourne for the event, I guess Melbournites would be used to the cold ;D ;D ........ Just goes to show ......vintage caravanning can be enjoyed in extremely adverse weather conditions ......even if the participating members are crazy ;D ;D Mark

Naaaaa Kingy Let me correct you... Its not "maybe next year"... Its "We will definitely be there next year"..... now get it right mate ;D It sorta clashes with a few other things on this weekend each year. Mauries car club have thier annual swap meet this weekend and he was feeling all guilty on sunday morning about not being there to help out. I reminded him of the great time we had on saturday night and the grin returned to his face. I picked this weekend because it falls the weekend before NSW schools break up .... a window of opportunity to dodge a plague of kids etc Still plenty of touristy stuff to get through up there and locally. To all those that had to dip out for variuos reasons . I hope circumstances are better next year and you can all make it along. Dont let the weather put you off. We are all sooks in one way or another but we all managed to have a great time "networking" in the cool conditions. All NSW eyes are now focused on Kendalls Beach in September. I still hope to get the East Coast Tour on track in October.... then on to Coledale.... Man ... are we gunna be Networked out by the time proper Xmas gets here !!! Thought for today............ Without the great people involved in this hobby .. the vans mean nothing Reddo

Hi youaallll, remember me , just logged on to do my update and see what you have been up to ,well it seems our ol mate has put together another fine shindig weekend good on you Reddo ,I love all the attention to detail you go to nice touch with the decorations on the van, I only wish we were there,I can just see all those familiar faces ,one question though why didn't you kick the tin around to buy Spider a pair of long slacks ,he is a braver man than I, my knees would have been knocking, and probably shocking to boot.Hope to be in for next year . Sugarshack.

In the few years I've known Spyder, I've seen him in trousers once......and that was at a Wedding. I believe he was a tourist attraction at Katoomba with the amount of people looking at him with shorts on. And Geoff was right about the legs. ;D ;D ;D

Reddo you trouble maker look what you have caused. I better ring Katoomba park straight away and get a spot before we get overtaken by magazine readers wanting to join in. Cheers Dave

Yeah Dave... I bet we get an "infestation" of FJ Holdens pulling caravans next year at Katoomba.... I can see half the sites being taken up by support crews in the winnabagos... not mechanical support crews ... "Make up crews" ;D ;D ;D ;D I heard that a certain gentleman that is not adverse to being in the Caravanning and camping mags cameramans focus is now suffering from melanomas caused by..... Flashbulbs !!!! Well it is Xmas in July... May as well have the HAMS along too. Reddo
