Hi ,To all those attending the Berry 2009 event, I drive through Berry once a month to go to Ulladulla and must admit that I would rather hang out with the the vintage van gang and get up to what ever entertainment that us guys can produce on the Friday and Saturday night at the local show ground than visit some packed out hall in town because I know your company and our vans will beat anything going on in town.See ya all for happy hour Friday arvo and night.Cheers Dave

J-rod and Alan & Jenny, so glad that you can make it to Berry. Hi All, I have received an email from Beryl see below:- "Hi Diane, We have had a good response and have 13 vans coming to Berry so far. Could you do me a big favour and go online to the forum and change my email address please to beryl.miller@bigpond.com. I will be emailing out more info to all coming at the end of January. We will not be able to supply power to the vintage vans but do hope this will not deter you from coming for a great weekend. Beryl Miller, Shoalhaven Caravan Club."I think the change of email address happened a couple of weeks ago, so J-Rod and Alan and Jenny, I would suggest you re-email your details to the new address just in case. 13 Vint Vans - isn't that good !!!! Kind regards Diane

Hi Malcolm Thats good news that you will be at Berry.. cant wait.... Have you contacted beryl at beryl.barney@bigpond.com and let her know you plan on being there . Just thought i would ask the question. This is not a vintage caravan run organised by us here on the forum. We have been invited to attend by the Beryl and Barney miller who are organising the annual NSW ( late model) caravan rally. The bookings are being handled by Beryl .. not via this forum and she needs to know numbers attending. Hope this helps.. if you are aware of what the deal about booking is .......then i apologise for any misunderstanding Reddo

Hi All, I have received the following email from Beryl this morning:- I personally feel that the offer that Beryl has made of a free BBQ is really great and I don't think we will have a problem cooking our dinner at all. I've seen some of you guys in action around the bbq at various events and you all seem to have it down pat. ;D ;D ;D We could go to one of the pubs, but I think they will be very very busy. As Beryl wants an idea of numbers asap, please reply to this post by Sunday night and I will email her accordingly on Monday. Kind regards Diane Hi all you Happy Vintage Caravanners.
I need to know if you would like me to organise a (free) barbeque for you at the Showground for Friday night. We would supply the meat and salad etc but you would have to cook the meat yourselves. If you would prefer I could book you into one of the two pubs in Berry or the Berry bowling Club for a meal
(Your cost). The pub on the northern end of town is called the Berry Hotel and the one on the southern end is called the Great Southern.
At this stage we are at our capacity at the School of Arts for the meal and entertainment both nights but if you wish to join us later in the evening to dance I’m sure we could fit you in.
Don’t forget Friday is Friday 13th, you may wish to have your own dress up party in one of the halls around the showground. Just watch out for black cats.
I don’t know if you could post this on your web site as I understand it will be difficult to give me a group decision. I do need to know some sort of numbers for catering and booking purposes as soon as possible.
You will all be grouped together, unfortunately you will not be on power or water but there is plenty of water available around the Showground. Generators are permitted up to 10pm.
No dogs will be allowed at the Rally.
There will be plenty of toilets and showers to cater for the large number attending the Rally
You will be given a welcome bag on your arrival with lots of information on the Shoalhaven area.
All who come to the Rally will be issued with a registration card on arrival.
This card will allow you entry in and out of the showground for the duration of the rally.
I’m sure if you have not been to Berry before you are going to enjoy your time here. Just browsing around all the many shops and eateries is an experience. Don’t forget to check out all the back streets and ally ways, you can shop til you drop.
Many of the Berry shops and restaurants are offering specials to all the caravanners.
The district wineries are offering discounts to all attending the rally.
Visit to the Berry Courthouse gardens and their ‘secret garden’.
The Berry swimming pool (next to the Showground) will be open to all for the weekend. $2.00 entry fee.
Site Fees $12 non powered. Site Fees are to be paid to Mr Hugh McCowatt of the Berry Showground Committee on your arrival. He will accept personal cheques and cash only. No eftpos or credit card facilities available.
Entry to the Showground is via Alexandria Street Entrance Only.
Generators will be ok for those vans not on power. Please come with full water tanks, most will not be hooked to water but there are plenty of outlets for refilling tanks. No air conditioners, fans only please.
Morning and Afternoon Teas. You will need to bring your own mug for morning and afternoon tea. Tea, coffee and eats provided.
We are so looking forward to having you and your wonderful caravans and cars at the NSW Association of Caravan Clubs Rally at Berry NSW over the week-end of the 13th, 14th, 15th March.
We really do appreciate your participation and letting our members view your pride and joys.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any more information. I would appreciate numbers attending and your preference for dinners ASAP.
Cheers, Beryl Miller, Secretary Shoalhaven Caravan Club, Host Club for the NSW Caravan Clubs Rally. Beryl.miller@bigpond.com

Just on the subject of meals, The Great Southern is a bit ordinary & a little bit pricey & recently we went to the Berry Hotel & the prices had gone ridiculously through the roof - even outrageous I think I'd put it!!!
The Berry Bowling Club is only 100m north at the end of the main street & I think that is your best bet, food & prices are reasonable, air-con & cheap drinks! Oh & don't drink at Hotel Berry or you won't have enough money left for fuel to get home-seriously!!!!!!!

Hi Di If you could see me now that xmas is over and i have finished off everything in the fridge that is edible.. You would come to the assumption that i am one fat puppy and enjoy my tucker. I would like to put my name down for the very generous free meat and salad handout at friday nights BBQ.. more than happy to pull the apron ( and stillettos if necessary) on and do the cooking for our mob. Just need to ensure there is a cold beer nearby to keep me . .. smiling Might even knock up a burger in honour of Beryl. "The Big bewt Beefy Berry Brunette Beryl Bonus Burger" ;D No worries about non powered sites... Glad to hear that the "petrol driven canetoads" have to be shut off by 10pm. " There is nothing worse than stinkin ,smelly generators clattering away under your window when you are trying to relax and enjoy a weekend away.. Roughing it aint roughing it if ya have to resort to" petrol canetoads." Might find my way up to the bowlo on saturday arvo for a coupla draughties.. stuff the trendy pubs... i aint no well heeled tourist with a fat wallet.. just a fat guts and a healthy appetite for food and beer at a bargain price. Definitley wont be dancing in the halls on black friday .. although i have been known to take home a trophy from the pub for my demonstration of "The last Lager Waltz".. Well ...its three to the right and.. two to the left.. doin the last lager waltz. Its all good Di... I am looking forward to the next few months... ;D Gunna be up and down the coast like a blue arsed fly... Motorfest, Maroochydore, Berry, Canton Beach, Katoomba.... yup.. "Tow and go"... is.. "The go" Just gotta find a radiator for the Chev... it shite itself today... But she'll be apples . Roll on Berry Free meat... bloody bewdy mate. Reddo

Hi all,
I haven't heard back from Geoff & Jude, Alan & Jenny, Malcolm & Pauline, J-Rod or Trodler as yet, so presume they haven't logged on over the weekend. But as all of them (except J-rod) are in southern Sydney or south of sydney - I think they will all be down to Berry in time and will want to join the rest of us for the BBQ.
Everyone that has replied wants to be in on the BBQ, so I have replied to Beryl with am Big "Yes thank you" for everyone. ;D ;D
Kind regards Diane
